ActionScript 2.0 :: NO SCROLL: Nested Dynamic HTML

Using a hybrid of some K tutes and others, I was able to get dynamic HTML to load and scroll. No prob. I added it to a nested movie clip, figured out some dot targeting (in an ongoing attempt to shuck telltarget), and got the HTML to load but the scrollbar isn't functioning. It's there, but doesn't work?? I've searched around here and found plenty of titles that fit the description, but not the issue... Chances seem really good that I'm doing something obviously wrong. I'm hoping so at least...

I've created a dynamic text field where I've insert into a lot of HTML code. Since it's too much long I've used a default scrollbar and simply dropped it onto the field so that It's linked to that. When I try it the bar is there but I can just see the upper arrow and the bottom one; the middle part isn't visible and I can't scroll down the HTML content.

We are building a flash website with cms at the back end, and we are allowing admin to put anchors inside a content. Later we created a smaller version of the whole content to display just a small part and then [read more] button. Which add a new layer on top of every thing acting like a popup and it is populated with complete content.
Now we would like to scroll that text inside popup to that portion which [read more] button was clicked.
The most common example inside HTMl is go to top link in footer on most of the sites which move the whole document to top.

I've made a flash movie which will load four movie clips at runtime. Actually, the number of movie clips will depend upon number of "NODE" in XML file. Keeping XML file thing aside, I've tried hardcoded values; 4. Let me describe you the structure very well:
There is a main empty movie clip, instance name "mc_scroll" which will be only item on stage. In this movie clip, another movie clip whose identifier name is "blueMovie" will be loaded dynamically. Inside this "blueMovie" MC, there is a button instance name is "blueButton" and inside this button there is a "Dynamic Text" field instance name is "btn_text".
Phewww.. so long chain... inshort:
mc_scroll->blueMovie->blueButton->btn_text
Now, I can load 4 or any number of "blueMovie" inside "mc_scroll". But I also want to set the button text for each button inside each MC!! I'm sure you guys are getting what I want to do. But its not working. Below is the code:

I have a Competition page on my flash project. Within the page is a ScrollPane, the ScrollPane has a MovieClip which is the stuff inside the ScrollPane. Then within my MovieClip I have a FLV video embedded using the FLVPlayback Component. I want to be able to select that FLV to make it stop when I use the navigation bar to go to another page otherwise it keeps playing in the background. its obvious I need to use stop(); but I don't know how to select the child MovieClip.

I have a library MovieClip the I am putting into the Scroll Pane. Inside this MovieClip is a Dynamic Text field that I fill with data. I have the ScrollPane on my stage and have used the source, refreshPain and update to try and get the new information from the dynamic text field into the Scroll Pain. To no avail all I get is the orginal text that was in the box when it started.

I'm using the following AS3 code to load an external swf (one with dimensions I don't like) into another swf. When I view the loader swf while embedded in a html page nothing is displayed even though the loader swf displays the nested swf without a problem in preview.

If I substitute the name "loaderSwf" with the nested swf name it plays fine. It seems as though the local html page does not like the fact that I'm playing a swf through another swf.

My landing page is 1000x600 and the page size setting is set to that, however my Gallery page is 1000x1200. When I go to the test movie or the browser html default test, when you navigate to my Gallery page there is no way to scroll down to see the lower half of the page.I cannot make every page on the site the exact same size. How do I have varying page sizes and still be able to scroll down to see the rest of the page?

I've never had to deal with a mc inside of an mc this way before... Basically they're already on the stage and creating them dynamically would require recreating everything.... Not worth it.

I'm working on an educational game that interacts with randomly selected characters. The names and attributes are imported from xml. I have a mc called characters that contains each character on a frame tagged with their name. The frame label is the characters name and I am having no problem displaying each character as they are randomly called.

characters.gotoAndStop(characterName);
characters.y = 350;
gameSprite.addChild(characters);
Each charater is a mc with 2 frames one with mouth closed and one with mouth open. Because the characters are accessed using the variable characterName as the frame tag I can't figure out how to tell the movie in AS3 to gotoAndStop on frame 2 of the character mc. I've tried numerous variations and just can't get it to work.

I have HTML + CSS text. I need some lib with simple function like "Render String Var conteining HTML" So no external files (like in flash lib called HTMLwraper you just have to play your SWF on top of HTML). dinamic! I give it string it renders It into some conteiner (not as a bitmab but as if it was real HTML dynamically rendered in flash). (And I need real HTML + CSS support not what normal rich text block gives us)I am going to use it in with Flex (Flash Builder) so I like MXML component model but even pure flash AS3 will workout.It should be Free and Opensource (any license like GPL, LGPL etc will be ok).So Is out there such flashflex library for HTML + CSS dynamic rendering (rfom given String or XML)?

Mu published FLASH html files will not scroll when minimized. I tried changing the publishing setting to pixels but that doesn't work.

Everything works correctly below. The new button displays on stage, but the nested dynamic text (instance name "campText") will not display.

Background: I have a class called MultipleChoiceQuestion which pulls the stem and choices from an xml file. The choices for each question are randomized. The Quiz class has a set of specified multiple choice questions which it loads dynamically. It also references the xml file to determine # of questions. The quiz controls the question progression based on correct answers. The main movie launches the quiz at the appropriate time.
Issue I want the question building to be dynamic and load the choices and randomize them. How do I do this? Right now I publish the quiz as a swf and then load it into the main movie, but that is static and always has the same choices in the same order. How can I do this dynamically?

I have been working with AS2 for a long time, but are a total newbie when it comes to AS3.On my stage I have placed an empty MC with instance name "holder".In my library I got a MC linked by the name "sektor".
"sektor" has several movieclips and buttons with instance name, e.g. "corner1", "corner2", "corner3"....
I have nested "sektor" inside "holder" by writing this code:

What I want to achieve is to control those movieclips inside "sektor" by turning dem on/off.I have tried to do this with this code:

but I keep on getting this error:
"TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties."
I have figured out that by tracing holder, I know it�s excisting (Result: [object MovieClip]) but if I try to trace holder.sektor1, I got the result "undefined". So it seems like "sektor1" is not excisting. Why?

Say we have a set of similar MovieClips in the library that all use the same base class, such as Car(). Each of these clips in the library contain nested clips, such as windows. Now, different cars can have a different number of windows (an SUV is larger than a smart car), and thus a different number of nested MovieClips. How would one create a list of all the nested MovieClips in a parent clip dynamically? In AS2, for...in was sufficient for this, like so:

Okay, here's one. We're running a SharePoint publishing/public site and I have this URL with a Flash object that displays a table that updates every 5 minutes:es, Yes, I know there's a million Ajax ways to do this, but there's politics behind it.On Firefox and Chrome I get a vertical scroll bar from the browser, not the flash object. There should be NO scroll bar and is none in IE.

I have a web app built in Flash Builder 4.5. Its dimensions are 1150 x 900. When I try to view it on a smaller monitor or lower resolution, I can only scroll horizontally. I need it to scroll vertically. Is there a setting I am missing or could it be something else. I am not going to post any code at this time because I do not believe it is a syntax issue. Let's say I have a movie clip named MC in stage. The following statements work.
var clipName = "MC";
this[clipName].y = 100;
However, if I put a child movie clip (named childMC) inside that MC movie clip, I'm not able to address the child movie clip by the same fashion. I'll get an error.
var clipName = "MC.childMC";
this[clipName].y = 100;
Is there any way to address the child movie clip with dynamic name?

i have a text box in flash which has text loaded dynamically from a .txt file. and its html enabled.. the text file has a variable name. notes but it doesnt have an instant name.... the problem i have is. that when i snap a flash mx scroll bar component. it gives it an instant name but the scroll bar doesnt work.

Just finished up my first drop down menu and needed some help as well as feedback. [URL] QUESTION: What do I need to do to make the dropdown menu scroll down and fall over the html content? In other words; How do i get the other content on the page to sit right underneath the dropdown menu? I can only get the content to sit below the .swf video which is larger than the dropdown bar since it needs room to display the drop down selections.

I know ZERO about flash/actionscript and have been tasked with creating a vertical text/html scroller. This would act like a news ticker but would scroll several paragraphs of text with images vertically continuously.
Here is a sample of the data that i would like to scroll vertically:

some text here
some more text
<image>
more text
more text
This pattern would repeat and the script would continuously scroll the information. I will be pulling that data from XML as HTML but i think i have that part under control. Just cant seem to get a sample of scrolling html/text.
