ActionScript 2.0 :: One Button Play MovieClip Forward And Reverse?

I have a college project to hand in within 2 days. I'm making a website and what I want to achieve is a button that plays the movieclip (which is a piece of paper going onto the stage) and when you click it again it reverses that clip. I've tried loads of things and only got code that allows two buttons to reverse and go forward.
what im trying to do here is have a button's (named btn) over and out states make a movie clip play forward or reverse. and my fla is named MCC. im fairly new so the more detailed explaination of the code the better. this is my code so far in the MC
I have 4 buttons on the stage. Each button controls associated MCs. When the button is clicked, the MCs fade to invisible (alpha). Now I want them to fade back in when the buttons are clicked again. Is there a way to get them to play in reverse or would you suggest that I do all of the fading tweens dynamically instead of in the MCs timeline? By the way, there is a stop command at the end of each MC.
I done a flash presentation for that using a FLV video file. I link that in flash component (flv player) & with that video time I play text contains as per there time in moviclip then create a play/stop button & control the movie & video. Now I want to forward & rewind on button. How I do that.
i am new to this site and also to AS i am trying to create a an expand and collapse functionality in which i want a movie clip to shrink and disappear when i click on a button and reappear when i click it again the solution that i came up with was i animated the movie clip shrinking and disappearing and now i think playing the timeline in reverse will solve the other half and i also added the stop script at the 1st and last frame of the movie clip.
i tried a lot and a number tried and tested the no of scripting techniques posted on other threads
I'm creating a movieclip that shows some photo samples with two arrows at the bottom. I want it so that if the user presses on the right arrow, the movie clip plays forward and goes toward the end to "shuffle" through the image samples. But I would also like them to be able to press on the left arrow and be able to play the movieclip backwards to "shuffle" back toward the beginning of the images.
The closest thing I can think of that would be similar to this would be the way you can shuffle through album images in iTunes.I just need to know the Actionscript 2.0 code to play the movieclip in reverse.
I've got a movie clip which i want to affect with 2 buttons. On a mouse over, the right button makes the movie clip play, and tween to the right, and on mouse out, it stops. I want it to do the same thing but in reverse for the left button. Here's what i've got so far...

I need to have the ability to spin or rotate an object such as a globe. I have 2 rollover mc's that spin the globe but I am having trouble getting it to loop on the backwards spin. Right now I have it acivating the mc to play fowarding in its timeline then loop but what is the best way to get it to go in reverse. My .fla can be found here [URL].

im using flash CS3 with actionscript 2.0. what i want to create is a column for an online magazine, the column will display a list of content, this list will be longer than it appears and have a "next" and "prev" buttons located at the bottom. i can set it up so than when next is clicked the content shifts and displays more, the problem is, what do i do about the "prev" button? i cant make the timeline play in reverse can i?
Actionscript 3 ---- Looking to have a movie clip and 2 buttons. Click the right button to make the movie clip go to the right, left button to make it go left (play backwards in the timeline) Currently the movie clip is set up as a 90 frame animation that moves across the stage on a motion tween. The right button just makes the movie clip play, so I'm looking to make my left button play that timeline in reverse. I've found lots of examples for AS2 online, but none for AS3......
Now that I have some basic collision detection in the game, I am wondering how i can get the character to rotate and then go forward or reverse using the arrow keys instead of just moving up, down, left, and right. I have tried putting a movie clip where pressing up and down makes it go up and down within the clip and then making the instance rotate if you press left and right, but that didn't work at all.

I have a time line of 500 points. On a timeline that wraps around how do I find if the shortest distance between two points is to go forward or backward? Example,I'm on frame 30, the target frame is 100 and the total frames are 500. I know that going it will take 70 frames to get to 100 going forward and 430 to go in reverse but I don't know the codes to figure this out. I'm using ActionScript but I think I would understand the codes if it were written in other professional languages like JavaScript.
This code is meant to assist the fast-forward and reverse buttons catch actions that occur on the timeline as they travel along skipping 15 frames at a time, but the actions are not being caught for some reason.
So I have this mc: this.slidingMenu it's a mc of a ring shaped menu, which turn around when 2 button get clicked. When the button on the right, mc goes forward until stop(), when the button on the left mc goes reverse until the stop(). In the first case i use gotoanplay, and everything goes fine. I have a test button i would like to have play a movie where a graphic expands. Once stopped, I would like to be able to click that same button and have the graphic go backwards. I would prefer to have timeline reverse, rather than lengthen the timeline of the mc because then i have to line up the start and end, and if one changes, i have to remember to change the other.
simple one this, or so i thought! basically, i want a mc to play from start to finish (11 frames) upon rollover and upon rollout i want it to play backwards to the first frame. Accurately.

I have a MC inside a button and I put in in the "Over" state how to make the MC play in reverse on mouseOut? Or is there a better or easier way of doing this?
I use this code i found on this forum. i want to control an MC to act like a buttopn, on roll over it plays the movieclip forward, on Rollout it plays the movieclip backwards.
This script works ok, but on when reversing it feels slow and often it doesent reverse to the start of frame 1 in the MC.... It is very sensitive to quick mouse over and out. The quirky reverse is possible because i use prevFrame...is there another thing i can use?
I beleive there's an Action Script or possibly an attached Javascript (maybe) that would allow an FLV video to 1st stream forward and then play backwards and repeat this proccess over and over to simulate an endless trend. The perfect example can be simply viewed here url...Their video is a short 13 sec clip of the pup licking the screen, but they managed to reverse it when it reaches the end.

All layers and consequently all route movieClips that relate to the map as well as the stop codes for the individual route animations now reside within that MovieClip which sits on a new layer above the map key layer. However, the key buttons no longer run the route animations. What should be done so that when clicked they still play the route MovieClips. Its like the button code cant see the layers it once refered to, now that they are in a movieclip.
I'm working with AS3 and I have two questions. First, to save on having to re-do work, is there a way to simply play the timeline in reverse IE from frame 210 - 200? I've got a page set up to slide in from the right when clicked on, and if you click on the back button, I want the page to slide out to the right again. Figured the easiest way to do this would be to simply reverse the timeline. Just don't know if that's possible in flash.
Secondly I've got it set up in the timeline for a FLVPlayback component to slide in to the center of the stage from the right when its page is clicked on and though this works in the timeline, when I test the movie, it doesn't slide in and if I expand the preview to full screen, the flv and its controls are still on the right side of the stage. how to get the movie to slide in properly?
I Have some small videoes I have to play on a seamless loop. It's basicly a little peace of video that i then play backwards so it appears like a seamless loop. At the moment I have made the video so it plays backwards, but I was hoping to cut that out to have some actionscript that would do that so i becomes a bit easier on the bandwith.[code]...
I made a flash banner that includes a videofile and some vector animations. I would like this banner to play from fram 1 to the last fram and then reverse play back to frame 1 ad infinitum (the whole movie should do this that is). I cant just reverse the frames though, because of the videofile (at least I think so?)
In one function I am calling the play method on an effect and in another I am calling the reverse method. The play method works but the reverse method does not. It appears that the propertyChangesArray is used to store the previous effect start values but that property is null when calling reverse.
