I am trying to setup a way to sell my music downloads through paypal with a "name your price" method.I want to use a textinput component. If the person types 0 (zero), it will take them to the DOWNLOAD PAGE. If they type in any other positive number, it will take them to paypal with that amount as the unit price.This is an editable link to a paypal item:URL...[code]within that link, there is a code for the price. it its "amount=1234" is there any way i could make it that whatever the person types into the textinput will be put into that code and then they are sent to that link?

I would like to know if it is possible in flex to do the following actions. I have made an HTTPService to a MySQL database, table: orders_open and it has columns
Id | product | price | units | total_price | customer | waiter | printed | paid_cash | paid_card | date
The datagrid is filtered by the customer column. Default value of | printed | paid_cash | paid_card is 0
1)How can I make flex take the price and units and calculate automatically the total_price? In the datagrid and update the database lines when I save.
2) Sum up all filtered total_price �s and give the bill_total in a text field
3) When paid, print the ticket | product | price | units | total_price | and the bill_total in a printer
My code has been created by Flex (create application from database)

I have only two fields Name and Email in a Order form and a PayPal button for payment at PayPal ( into my account).I can do the mail portion but have no idea about PayPal code, however on search here I found one code and after pasting this one to the PayPal button it redirects to my PayPal account. But the question is anybody can post a message and leave the site without paying me. How can I do this thing so that the user will forced to pay before posting the mail form. No idea how to proceed?

I've got an annoying little problem with recreating a RTS style interface, specifically with selection and issuing movement commands to units. It's goes something like this...

The idea is that you click on the tank to select it (a new listener is added) and then you click again elsewhere on the screen to tell the tank to move/shoot whatever (the new listener is acted upon). Looking for help! I need to post a stock price on a swf webpage. The stock symbol SNA.V is only available from yahoo finance (as far as I can tell). It's a Canadian company traded only on TSX. Anyway, I need a way to display the current stock price and have it refresh by itself. Yahoo finance offers a widget, but does not support most international codes. I don't need anything other than the current price in text. I can get flash to retrieve the external text from [URL].. - but, I can't get it to refresh on its own - also, the swf won't access the external source once it's online (just displays a security warning). I'm looking for any ideas to work around this issue.

how to create price strings from numbers.E.g. a product could have a price of 25.50. however this will show as 25.5, as it removes the 0.I would like to convert this number (25.5) to a string, and format it as a price, e.g. "25.50"In C#, its easy, you just do .toString("0.00");but i can't find any way of doing it in Actionscript. Is there an easy way or do i have to do some string splitting and such?

So i want to make a form which people can use to get price quotes immediately. There will be about 15 fields. I have 'some' clue as to how this 'might' be done. The 'if' statement could be used. But that sounds like a lot of combinations and a lot of scripting. I would also like them to be able to send the form to my email if they want.
Now i know how to script the basic forms.. eg. contact forms.. etc. with php and all. So once they've selected specific info from the fields, i'm sure i can have it sent into my inbox. But I don't get how to do the main thing (the price quote display - according to the information selected). Will it have to be XML based? Something to do with a database? Or what?

I have a flash application that plays .mp3 files. I use the Sound object and the .loadSound method. It is quite easy for someone to download the mp3 files from say a plugin for Firefox called DownloadHelper, or using the Safari Activity window. Is there a way to protect against this?

I'm on a laptop and for the past day or so I downloaded adobe flash about 10 times and it doesnt seem to work. whenever I try to watch something or have a flash ad on a website, I get a message that says "install missing plugins". I click on it, and it takes me to the flash download page but it doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with this, but it says by the installation instructions that I would need to press "run", I only have an option to save the file.

I have a webpage with a video component (swf file) with a separate .flv file and skin. The .flv file is intended to progressively load from the webserver.
In the swf file I have set autoplay=false to stop the move playing when the page is loaded. This works fine.
However, the problem is that the movie still downloads in the background. i.e. Each time the page is loaded, the .flv file is being loaded.
Is there a way to stop the .flv file being loaded until the Play button is pressed in the player?

I have set up a progress bar file that in which i have imported my .swf file. Is there a way I can start playing the flash movie before it is fully downloaded. Not sure if this is a buffering or streaming question. Lets say it starts playing when it's downloaded at least 50% of it.
I've looked up and tried several ways, but i think i am confusing myself more then helping.

We have FMS interactive configured to do RTMP and HLS streaming. However the clips still can be downloaded through [URL]..Is there a way to disable progressive downloads? While at it is there a way to disable HDS also? I want to allow HLS and RTMP only.

I am using mcl ( moviecliploader ) class to download images for a photo book;
when a user mouseover's a thumbnail, the corresponding fullsize img is downloaded;
PROBLEM: 1 - a user can move their mouse quickly over many thumbs;
2 - mcl class doesn't seem to have a way to stop downloading
3 - therefore it is realistic that the mcl could be forced to download 10-15 images simultaneously
4 - possibly the thumb that the user actually wants is last in the que;

i understand that you have to have a .zip file usually to force a browser to download the file using the getURL command to the URL of the .zip file. But when i have a link in a pop-up page, it just gives me a error 404 page
so far the AS looks like this
