ActionScript 2.0 :: Sort XML Data Based On An Attribute "price" (or P)

Sep 8, 2006

I am trying to sort XML data based on an attribute "price" (or p). I'm trying to sort the prices numerically so that, for example, 1230.00 does not show up before 19.00. I have defined a preliminary price sort function as follows:

[Code]...

How do I edit this function so that the prices will display in numerical order rather than string value order?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Take The Price And Units And Calculate Automatically The Total Price?

Mar 29, 2009

I would like to know if it is possible in flex to do the following actions. I have made an HTTPService to a MySQL database, table: orders_open and it has columns

Id | product | price | units | total_price | customer | waiter | printed | paid_cash | paid_card | date

The datagrid is filtered by the customer column. Default value of | printed | paid_cash | paid_card is 0

1)How can I make flex take the price and units and calculate automatically the total_price? In the datagrid and update the database lines when I save.

2) Sum up all filtered total_price s and give the bill_total in a text field

3) When paid, print the ticket | product | price | units | total_price | and the bill_total in a printer

My code has been created by Flex (create application from database)

How would I go about re-ordering the new array I've created?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Parsing XML Based On Attribute?

Jun 1, 2009

I have an XML file I'm parsing out into a Flash movie. The XML contains multiple nodes, and within those nodes are multiple attributes. So, for example, there is a node called FirstNode. In that is an attribute FirstNodeID="1" and then there is another node, also called FirstNode which has an attribute of FirstNodeID="2". Each node also has attributes called Header and Body and so on.

What I'm wondering is, how do I call out specific things based on an attribute?Right now, when I call the Header attribute from FirstNode I get ALL of the Header information from ALL of the FirstNode nodes. I need to be able to get JUST the info from FirstNodeID="1", FirstNodeID="2" and so on as needed.

[Code]...

I'd like to be able to be able to simply rename the dynamic text fields and then only paste in the actionscript that defines what nodes to pull the text from and what fields to put it into. So everything from the //MAIN TEXT area in the actionscript above.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Sort Objects Depths Based On Their Y Position

Jun 12, 2008

I've been trying to sort objects depths based on their Y position but have not been able to do it efficiently. I was able to successfully sort objects with a selection sort algorithm and a quick sort algorithm; however, both have only been partly successful. Selection sort gets about 8-10/30 FPS with 13 objects and gets about 14-18/30 FPS. This is not good enough as I figure I could have as many as a hundred objects to be sorted at once.

After digging around, I found that array.sort() is more efficient than a quick sort implemented in AS3 and that calling swapChildren() or swapChildrenAt() at every swap was bogging it down. So now I am copying the objects array and sorting it with sort() and then comparing the two and swapping displayObjects so as only to call the swapChildren() or swapChildrenAt() method once per element. It appears to be running, and at full speed, though it won't swap correctly. Here is my code:

_xml.y.rs.r.cs.c.(child("is").(i.@t == "f")).@n
_xml.y.rs.r.cs.c.(child("is").i.(@t == "f")).@n

The problem is that the selector either returns too many or too few nodes.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Table With Points - Sort Dynamic Texts Based On The Variable

Feb 10, 2010

Updated question: Is there a way to sort dynamic texts based on the variable (or simple value) they represent? Old dribble: I'm looking for some pointers for a problem with making a table. It may be that I have started off in the wrong direction - anyways, I'm stuck now. The .png displays my objects, and how they are connected/grouped. The highlighted (red) shows the variable containing the points.

The pink with the most points should be displayed higher than the rest, and 2nd most points should ofc be 2nd highest. I have tried taking the red variable out of the pink, but I could not think of a way of moving the red variable based on its own value. I'm going to edit the red variables (as the world cup goes on), and there is no need for cookies and such. And if there is a simpler way of doing the setup, let me know. I'm using SwishMax3 (SM2 up till a few days ago, so I'm more used to as2..)

Flex :: Make Default Attribute Values In XML Get Parsed In Based On XSD Schema?

Jun 16, 2009

I have an xml with an xml-schema. The xml-schema defines an abstract complex type with 2 optional attributes that have default values. Then I have several complex types that extend the base one. And finally nodes of the types defined. So I load the xml and when I parse each node, the optional attributes are not present at all.I've tried fooling around with the namespaces, even[code]...

No luck. Something similar was being experienced by this guy on codingforums, but that was like 5 years ago. Same is happening to me with firefox 3.0.11 - the xml is shown without the default attributes. For now I'm setting the default values in code, but isn't there a way to make them available from the xml-schema?[code]...

Flash :: Web Based Visual Programming Interface Based On Python For Data Visualization

Nov 4, 2011

I just discovered impure.com and was very impressed by what can be achieved in terms of visualizing data using their workspace. Although the platform is free to use, but not open source yet. This causes a few problems because the API section works with .com sites for eg. for ebay, so I cannot visualize ebay listings for regional sites such as ebay.in because the link to ebay.com is hardcoded.I searched around, but didn't find other projects that offer a similar way to work with site APIs and other data sources with the kind of user interface and detail that impure.com does in a realtime way within a browser window. This brings me to the questions:

-What technologies would be involved in creating a similar kind of project

-What are the open source tools that can help develop a fullscreen UI to render the workspace. Are there any alternatives to flash for this, and how do they compare

The goal would be to use standard python data structures, python scripts to do some processing on these data structures, scripts to gather data from csv, json and API sources such as google yahoo, wikipedia and flickr, and scripts to render graphs, tag clouds, network visualizations etc. Then bring them all together into a visual interface that supports drag drop and simple type checking. How would the python backend integrate with the UI.

Flex :: Sort AdvancedDataGrid With Hierarchical Data?

Mar 29, 2011

I have an AdvancedDataGrid with a HierarchicalCollectionView as its dataProvider. When I view the grid with the dataset I'm working with, and click the header of the column I wish to sort on, everything works perfectly. It sorts it hierarchically exactly how I would expect it to.What I want to do now is have the grid already be sorted when it is shown to the user. Is there a way to do this programatically? I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this, and clearly it's possible since the AdvancedDataGrid has this built in.[code]This appears to do something as far as sorting goes, but it doesn't sort it in the same way as clicking the column header. "startDate" is a property of an object in theDataSource by the way.
