ActionScript 2.0 :: Repositioning MovieClip (Tree Diagram) On Stage

I've got a huge movieclip (2500px X 2500px) sat on a stage (950px X 600px). The movieclip is like a tree diagram and I'd like to be able to click on buttons within the movieclip which will reposition it and have the effect of panning to the next item in the tree.
I have a bunch of old FLAs with one set of dimensions, including a 60 pixel offset along the y axis. I'm writing a jsfl script to resize the stage (works), delete some unneeded layers (works), and reposition everything (doesn't work) What I'm using is:
When I run my script, the items do in fact get moved, but on tweened clips, they get "doubled dipped," it seems: if I compare the new x and y values of, say, the end keyframe of a clip (only tweened for alpha, for example) is exactly 46 pixels farther right and 60 pixels higher up than it should be.Is there a better way to reposition everything that avoids this "double dipping" among tweens? I'd love to know! There's got to be a way, and I feel like I'm so close, but not quite there. (Of course, I'm probably way offEdit: I've performed the steps manually by turning onionskinning on for multiple frames, selecting all frames, then dragging a selection rectangle across everything on the stage, then moving everything by the desired amount, which works: when I look at the history and view the js for those steps, they look exactly like what I've typed into my script.
I have a main mc, with another mc nested inside it that needs to reposition to exact x,y coordinates (on four separate occasions). Can I put keyframes on the timeline with a script placed on the keyframes so that when my main movie reaches those frames, the nested mc repositions to the specified coordinates?
I am working on Air application,i had a problem on Tree control.Iam adding nodes for the tree dynamically, while adding nodes to the tree i am setting Tree.selectedItem as present added node. after that i need to fire Tree.itemClick event handler method also.how can i call event handler method as a common method. in Flex3
I have a intro to a picture of a tree which has buttons on it. The intro is an embedded flv video (not using the FLV component). The video starts on frame one and runs to frame 2. The tree is on frame 3.When I click a button on the tree, it runs the respective frames then returns to the tree. When the tree appears, the sound of the video is playing in the background.How can I make this stop?
I have a structure of movieclips, which is something like:
Top Level: My character's collision movieclip, stickman_root
Second Level: On each frame of the top level, the visual part of the character, in a different pose. stickman_stand, stickman_walk, etc
Third level: in each of the poses in the second level, the character itself is built of several smaller movieclips. stickman_head, stickman_torso, stickman_upperarm_l, etc...
So having created this structure, I'd like to be able to use it as a template. I'd like to turn an instance of the toplevel into a new, unique library symbol, and similarly everything under it should also get a new unique symbol, so I can modify those as needed without messing with my template. So that I can take this stickman template, and change the graphics to create someone less stick-ish, while still retaining the skeleton and animations I made. Create unique movieclip tree from an instance?
I have 2 MCs named box1 and box2. Each one has dynamic text field named content_txt (content_txt.autoSize = true) and loads some text data from XML file.Box2 is on the top and box1 on the bottom. I need function that checks the height of box2, or of its content_txt and puts box1 on exact distance along _y axis.I have tried with this code:

I want to make a circle/pie (2d) chart and use it like a timer, at first the circle shall be all black then every second it shall get more red(the pie pieces shall turn from black into red then) and after 60 seconds the whole circle shall be red, I have a few other things I want to do too
Here i'm setting the disclosureClosedIcon as null setStyle("disclosureClosedIcon", "nullicon"); Anybody have idea about how to replace this default icon with a movieClip?
I want to load a series .jpgs into an existing mcs. The mcs are 75 x 75 pix and the .jpgs are 50 x 50 pix. The problem is that I made the mcs with the registration point at the top left corner. This causes the mcs to load in at that point so that the margine between the .jpg and the mc is uneven. How can I change the registration point of each mc so that the CENTER of the .jpg is positioned the CENTER of the mc?
I would like to know if any of you have had any issues repositioning your browser using safari within flash. I'm basically using the navigateToURL method then passing a anchor tag like this. All other browsers are fine but when using safari on a mac nothing happens.
I was able to put the script together for this menubar in the attached file... It floats on a separate level just fine, but what I want is for it to smoothly move to the top of the page when a button is clicked, and stay within a two inch range. As you can see, it moves to the top of the page... but surely does not do it gracefully... it just jumps up there. how to put the rest of the script together for this...

the different bits finish before each other...is there a way of making each bit (height width and x) scale in proportion of each other so they all finish at the same time? I bet its something to do with what i divide the -= values by (currently arbitrary numbers like 20 or 5)
ok, i am attaching 6 pictures off stage dynamically using setInterval as a loop (so it will attach the clips once every x seconds). I'm positioning them in a line vertically, and then tweening them onto the stage with mc_tween2.Once the pics are in final position, the goal is this: 1.click on any pic and it will grow larger and position itself towards the center of the stage 2.click another pic and the last pic will shrink to original size and go back to it's original place.
#2 is where I'm having the problem. I've got the enlarging and repositioning working, and i can get the last pic to move back, but it won't go to the right place. In every variation i try, it either goes to the first position in the vertical stack, or the last position. The closest i can get to what i want is to swap the last clicked picture with the position of each picture as you click on them.basically how can i get Flash to remember the location of each pic, so when i click another pic, the last selected one will go back to it's original place?
I am working on some dress pattern design tutorials. I would like to show patterns and fabric pieces flip over with a page turn type animation. I am looking for a simple method as it involves doing it to a lot of diagrams. I have been looking at After Effects as I know I can 'page turn' objects. This pretty well produces the effect I am looking for but I feel it should be easier in Flash (Shape tweening morphs the diagram and motion tweening doesn't help) or perhaps video in Photoshop. I don't mind what I use.
My patterns are drawn in Illustrator so importing them would be really convenient. Ideally I would like to fill the shapes with a textile pattern and have the reverse showing with a different texture but this is not essential - just getting the diagrams to turn over smoothly would be really nice.
I have even thought of screen recording the process of dragging the corner of the diagram and flipping it over in some way.
I am happy to experiment but if anyone can point me to the best way forward I would be very grateful. There is nothing worse than spending hours/days working on a way to do things only to find there is a preset somewhere that does it for you.
i have a bunch of diagrams that are exploded to show parts that we sell of athletic equipment. our company now has an online digital catalog that we want to put some flash into so when the user clicks on a part it will direct their browser to the webpage that they can order it from (hopefully in another window). i know there are plenty of ways to do this but i havent used flash in about a year and it was just one class and honestly i am a little fuzzy on what to do. i guess i would import the .ai files and make each part a button right? should i do these on different layers? some of the files are jpgs, so would i have to make an invisible button or something over the image?
My requirement goes like this.I need to create a venn diagram in flex or action script. I need to create 2 circles. Let's say two circles,circle A and circle B. Both circles should have different color and intersected(A^B). So, finally it should have three colors.circle A, circle B and the intersection part respectively. After that, when I click circle A, only circle A part (excluding intersection part) should be highlighted and remaining should be the same. When I click intersection part, only that intersection part(A^B) should be highlighted and circle A should get the initial color as it was. Similar case with tha circle B. I have done all trail n errors using sprite,bit map and degrafa swc also. But I am not able to meet the exact requirement.
My boss wants to draw the local network and then, if you click on one of the computers or roll the mouse over one, he wants to see stuff like RAM, CPU, OS, etc. This has to be done in a browser, more specifically, the intranet's wiki.One of my coworkers suggested using flash (I am a complete noob but I assume ActionScript is what would be used?) and I think it could also be done in javascript but I dunno.He wants it to be extensible if possible, so adding another computer later or editing values shouldn't be too hard, though the topology shouldn't change very often.
I am working on creating a network diagram. I used the "Creating Connected Lines" tutorial to start off. I need to place the object equal distance from each other around a center object so they don't overlap. Is there a way to set the distance or maybe the line length so they don't end up on top of each other?
Is there anywhere available a software which allows to build UML diagram from AS3 code ?I found that someone started to implement that in ArgoUML, but with any results yet.Does anyone now if there is any software which can do that ?
I have airplanes that are flying past the screen from a top down view. when the air planes crash, I scale them down to make it appear as if they are falling closer to the ground and farther away from the screen. I have turrets on these crafts as well. they are seperate objects from the air plan. I scale them down as well. The only problem is they dont reposition correctly. they stay in their x and y positions even though they are being scaled it looks as if they are being pulled away from the air plane. is it possible to reposition them correctly based on the size on the object they sit on (i.e. the air planes)
i wanna resize the mouse in a traptizium but can't the right fomular to do so any expert out there erm...don't understand see the fla file. I almost got it , its easy with a square but the traptizium formular just got me nuts.
I'm setting up a row of thumbnails that will show a tooltip TextFormat object on rollover.

However when the screen is resize and the thumbnails are repositioned. The tooltips are still referencing to the old position. I tried to 'refresh' the positions by adding the same EventListener again on resize. But didn't work
I'm trying to make a Flex Tree Component display the children of a sprite in a hierarchical way. Moreover, dragging the items on the FlexTree would resort and reparent the items. I have special Elements set as Folders. This would allow other elements to be added there as a children by dragging an element on the tree and dropping it there. I have a failed attempt which works, but breaks when I try to add folders. Basically, it fails at reparenting the items by dragging and resorting folders and that Does anyone know of a component or something which can do this, has anyone have created any of this or could anyone give me a clue?
I am currently creating a interactive flow chart in flash CS3 using action script 2.0, I have run into a few problems along the way though. My first problem is this:
They are four buttons to begin with, when you click on one of the four buttons the other shrink and the option you have selected displays its own options, but you can still click on the first three buttons that are first shown, so you can flick through the choices faster. This all works fine until certain selections are made and then the animation breaks and shows you two further options at the same time.
My second problem is:
Once you select your choice from the first four you can then click the same option again and it will replay the animation again. I don't want it to replay this but is they a way of using the "if" statement rather than creating another frame on every option.
I would like to create an interactive diagram and somebody said I should use Flash to do it.
The idea is to create an organisational chart (like the ones you can produce in MS Word 2010). Each position will have its own box or button. When a user clicks on that box or button, a Word document or internet link will be activated and take the user to this other resource.
The reason why I am choosing Flash is because I would like to make alot of these diagrams and they have to go into Moodle. Apparently Flash is the only program I should use to import the diagram into Moodle.
