View 11 RepliesI've been looking for a tutorial to create a timeline scrubber (not animating specific movie clips, but actually a scrubber that can move along different keyframes of a timeline that has a series of images on it).I found a bunch of these (scrubber controlling specific movie clips): http:[url]....but nothing that allows you to just scrub back and forth on the whole timeline in the exported swf.
View 3 RepliesI'm tweaking the video code found here [URL] His progress bar starts at the edge of the stage. My progress bar starts at x=40 into the stage. My problem is that even though all my mcs related to the progress bar are positioned properly the scrubber mc hops to the edge of the screen when the video starts. It also acts as if the progress bar you scrub though is at the edge of the screen too. I can't figure out why it's doing this. There's nothing in the code to tell it to do as such.

are you able to scrub an mp3 sound with a slider bar? im looking through the Sound class but there appears to be no properties that would aid in that (like NetStream.time())
View 0 RepliesI've made a video scrubber for a couple of external F4Vs in my movie. I'm using 2 setIntervals for the scrub function: 1 to move my video playhead as the video plays, and 2 to seek to the correct video frame as the user drags the playhead.
This seems to be working ok. I wish it was a little bit more fluid in the scrub action, but I'll take what I can at this point.
But, one thing I'd like to work on is the audio hits during the video scrub. As the netstream seek is happening, the audio is hitting while I scrub. I'd like to temporarily kill the audio as I scrub, and then bring it back on at the MOUSE_UP.
I'm pretty sure that SoundMixer.stopAll(); will get rid of my audio, but what will make it come back?
I'm making a working scrubber on a video, but having problems. The scrub itself it starting out in the middle of the loadbar. I've looked everywhere, trying to find out what is wrong with it.

I'm trying to play an FLV using the Netstream class - standard stuff, really using nothing more complex than things you can find in the help files. I've created a control panel with a bar you can use to click and drag and scrub through the video.
Exporting to Flash Player 9, it's working fine and I can scrub through the video, but only while the FLV is still loading. As soon as it hits 100% the scrubbing (using Netstream.seek()) becomes incredibly unresponsive, almost to the point of crashing the player.
I've killed all ENTER_FRAMES, removed all unnecessary listeners and nullified everything I can think of but something massively resource-intensive seems to be kicking in as soon as the load finishes.
Has anyone ever seen this? I've never come across this and can't find anything similar across assorted forums.
Code below but I don't think the mouse-move drag actions are the problem! Fine in the Flash CS4 IDE, broken in the browser.
// Drag
private function dragVideo(e:MouseEvent):void {
// Match the x position of the dragger to the x position of the mouse
videoControls.progressBar.dragger.x = videoControls.progressBar.barInner.mouseX;

i want it so that if you scrub back through the video to any point, the correct subtitle appears. I'm thinking something like...

I'm new to flash. I'm trying to create a swf of a video with scrubber and at a certain point through the video the web address pops up and is clickable. I have tried embedding the flv within the timeline but it warns me that things could get out of sync.
View 2 RepliesI'm looking for a tutorial on the interwebs to create a scrubber for the length of a movie clip.For example:If a movieclip is 300 frames long, the beginning of the scrubber would be Frame 1 and the end would be Frame 300 with Frames 2-299 in the middle.I'd like the user to be able to scroll through the movie much like a Quicktime VR
View 2 RepliesI will tell you what exactly i need. I need a video scrubber and it should be in a circular shape. I will tell you how it has to work. I want to rotate with a small circle on top of a big circle. lets assume that small circle is called a dragger. Now i need to drag that on top of the circle either in clock wise direction or in anticlock wise. If am dragging in clock wise, the loading video has to seek forward. suppose in case if am dragging in anti clock wise, i need to see the video backward. This is the functionality am going to implement in FLASH CS3/FLASH CS4.

I am playing flv files on a site. The way I am bring them is via the import video from the library (not using flv component). I am loading the videos via using netStream. So far so good. Everything works fine. I want to be able to scrub through the video by clicking and dragging left or right on the video itself. I plan to make the mouse cursor turn into a symbol that has a left and right arrow when you roll over the video hence letting you know that you can click and drag left or right to forward or rewind through the video. IS this possible? If so, how can I accomplish this?
View 5 RepliesI have created an XML driven Video Player based on Lee Brimelow's Video TutorialI have a MC called loader which contains two MCs- a circular shaped clip called scrub which can be used to seek to particular time of the video. and anoder MC called loadbar which denotes the amount of video loaded by expanding correspondingly.Everything works fine except the video scrubber (the playhead). when the scrubber reaches the end of the movie; instead of stopping at the end of the loader MC it goes beyond it.here's the code:
Code:
function videoStatus() {
amountLoaded = ns.bytesLoaded/ns.bytesTotal;

I am working with the scrub element in my custom video player. The code for this in AS2 is as follows (this is the whole of it). How the scrub portion is coded in AS3?
HTML Code:
var nc:NetConnecttion = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
theVideo.attachVideo(ns);
ns.play("vegas.flv");
[Code] .....
I've got nearly all of it working but the drag action of the scrubber. Seeks on MouseDown but doesn't drag. Oddly I've got this very functionality working for the audio volume scrub bar but not the playhead.
Here is the troubled portion of the code. Happy to send a src file:
Code:
// ScrubHandle Dragging Variables
var ratio_play:Number;
var playTrackBounds:Rectangle = controls.trackbar.getBounds(controls);
var playXpos:Number = playTrackBounds.x;
[Code].....

View 3 RepliesI need to have scrub thumbs for video player load and unload repeatedly. Something isn't getting cleared. Every time the thumbs are removed, there's a slight increase in the cpu baseline - something is piling up in memory.

All this code works properly, however when I include the part which controls the video resize metadata the scrubber stops working... (see the section between the ">>> <<<").
Code:
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
ns.setBufferTime(2);
ns.onStatus = function(info) {

I am making a player that adds an advertisement before a video but don't want the user to be able to skip though the ad. I am using the progress component and an FLV Playback component for my player. I had tried to just hide the progress bar but it looks unbalanced. If anyone has an idea on how to make it so a user can not fast forward though the ad by dragging the scrubber that would be great.
View 2 RepliesI'm building a flv_video AS3 player. I'm using steaming-video.The player is working fine, but there is something that I want to improve. Currently when I push play button and if I drag&drop the scrubber of progress-bar somewhere in the area that is still not buffered, the player doesn't start to play from that position. So I want to do it.
View 2 RepliesThe script pulls in data relating to the video file (title, artist etc). but I think I may have written it wrong, but I can't see it.
The error is that it's pulling in the final line in the xml list and when I click the buttons it states that it is not defined.[code]...
I have a website I created in Flash (CS4 AS2), and on one page, I have a UIScrollBar component. It is linked to a text box, which loads text from an external .txt file. The page has a short pre-loader that plays while the page is loading; the page is not supposed to be shown until it's 100% loaded.
My problem is that when the page loads, the text is there, and there is a box where the scroll bar should go, but no scroll bar. The mouse wheel makes the page scroll as it should, but the bar itself is not visible or functional. If I navagate away and then return to the page, or reload the page, the bar displays as it should.
I'm building a page that plays back 5 videos. If there is no interaction, the videos will playback in a random order every time the page loads. If the user interacts with any of the buttons for each video, after a video completes & if the user has stopped interacting, it would ideally playback only the videos that haven't been played.
I've been able to get the automatic random playback to work. What I haven't sorted out is how to get the video playback to work correctly if the user interacts.I've modified this code, which uses some 3rd party code, and it won't work outside of their environment. The logic would work outside of their environment, though. They only provide video tools. This code is used to create the buttonArray and the random array:
Creat the button array
var buttonArray:Array=new Array(scroller.scrubber.vidBtn1,scroller.scrubber. vidBtn2,scroller.scrubber.vidBtn3,scroller.scrubbe r.vidBtn4,scroller.scrubber.vidBtn5);[code]...
how to make buttons playback only the remaining elements of the randonArray if the user stops interacting after interacting,
I have simple slideshow set up where the user presses a button(forward or back) and the image changes. I used a sharedObject to save each frame, so when the page is refreshed/reloaded, the swf loads back to the image it left off on... thats the idea anyway.However, instead of just loading the previous frame when the page is refreshed, it loads frame 1, and i have to click my "next" button, which then jumps to the slide that should have loaded in the first place. I dont know why this is happening..I'm using Sothink SWF Quicker.. so heres the .sqf[URL]
View 1 RepliesI am using YouTube JS API to play videos on my site. Video is played on the dialog box. When user closes the dialog box, player is stopped - player.stopVideo(); But when user clicks again on video icon again, dialog box appears
In Chrome, the video starts playing at the previous position - OK Firefox, the video starts playing from the start irrespective of where user left it last time. - NOT OK
As per my requirements, I want the Chrome to behave as how firefox is behaving.

I am trying to add videos to my project, but none of them seems to work correctly. I have a movieclip, which has 3 layers and 2 frames on each layer, 1 frame at nr.1, and frame 2, at nr. 5 in the timeline. I tried to add a FLVPlayer, using a tutorial, but it doesn't works correctly. 1st frame has a stop(); a blank, and 4 buttons + FLVPlayer component. the last frame nr.5, has the AS3 code, the frame label "videocontent", and the same 4 buttons and FLVPlayer component as in the first frame. I've created a classic tween between 1st and 5th frame on the timeline for the buttons and component. even with or without animation, the video is throwed by the Flash on the stage without any coordinates, where he wants by default. The FLVPlayer's buttons are throwed in other place on the stage, and none of them seems to work.
the second issue is that after i click the main menu button, the sound of the video is still playing and to be heard, so that means it is still there. In AS 2, once upon a time, i used some function called removeclip, or unLoadMovie, and it worked.
what i am looking for is an FLV player type component (doesn't have to be an actual component) that will play SWFs. i need it to have all the same functionality (play, pause, scrub bar, etc...) it seems crazy that there isn't one out there i have even looked in the Exchange area and only seem to find ones that control FLVs or MOVs, not SWFs.
View 4 RepliesJust curious if anyone has ever discovered a way to scrub through frames one by one on the timeline? I'm not referring to action script nextFrame() kinda thing, I'm referring to the Flash editor only. Seems like a <control> + <right arrow> ought to do something like that but no luck.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to find out how to make a flash mp3 player. I have downloaded the source codes from the following website : [URL] (Slim version 0.2.3) and have made some minor modifications to fit my needs.
However, I am still clueless as to how to add a "scrub bar" (or progress bar) that would move as the file is playing and go to the location (minute) where i click on.
