ActionScript 2.0 :: Sending Information To A Popup?

If I'm creating a popup using this method:http:[url]...
Is it possible to send information to another flash file in that popup? I'm building a little xml photo gallery, but I want the pictures to open in a new window when clicked. The path to the picture and a description is loaded from an xml file, is there a way to either send the path and description or send the reference to where to find this info in the xml file to the popup?

I trying to import an XML file, and send bits and pieces to a custom component. My XML file is structured like this:
<projects><project>
<projName>{Insert title of project here}</projName>
<startDate>{Insert date here}</startDate>
<positions>
<daysOffset>{Insert a number here}</daysOffset>

When I save the project, I do not get any errors or warnings. However, when I attempt to output the values in the component, the projectPositions piece comes back as Null.

I am in the process of creating a flash site for friend of mine. He wants to be able to have a guest list for his events in DC. I have created form boxes and have given them all "instance names". But I have absoultely NO clue how to have the text entered by people trying to get on the guest list sent to my server so we can all read it.
I have a book on Flash but it really doest explain how to do it at all. I'm guessing I need to do some actionscript?

I have a series of identical buttons. I want each one to delete a certain item from an array.But the function that deletes the item from an Array is obviously also the MouseEvent function that the listener looks at, which to my knowledge can only take one parameter.

I am attempting to create a Flash site with a Contact Us form where people can email me through the flash site by entering their Contact Information and it emails me there info.

I can receive the emails when I use this, however, it does not send me the information I type in the flash site. It just sends me a blank email.

I have a scheduling application that allows users to save any changes. When the user clicks the save button, Flex sends all the information to a coldfusion script which picks the information apart and sends saves it to the database. That all works well and good, but I would like to be able to display some sort of text to the user saying something like "Your file was successfully saved" or "There has been an error.

I don't know how to ask this, but the thing is that i was thinking that how does youtube or videofy.me like video blogs send the video path & all info to a flash video player i mean when e click on any video link how does it sets up everything and displays the chosen video, because actually i've created one but in that i had to set up the whole page via flash so that it can manipulate the information like path & name of the video, and cannot use html links, php and all.. so can u people tell me how do i start up & how this process is done & what i need to do & other important things on this.. i mean sending any info to a flash player via any scripting or server side language.

If you create a popup via:[code]It will create a popup and bring it on top of any other visual piece. I have one problem though. This 'popup' needs to stay up even when the user interacts with the background.I would use modal, but I need the ability to interact with the back. Any way to tell the popup manager not to remove the popup when the user clicks off of it?

i'm using the centered pop up window script from: [URL]. i have multiple buttons in my flash movie which open screenshot html pages in external browser windows. the script works fine except when a popup window stays open. the rest of the buttons don't open/replace past that one popup. i tried changing the window name in the onRelease script to screen1, screen2, etc for each button, but that didn't work.

I need to close the popup(adobe flex), non modal window if I click on the parent page of the popup. I have to do the out of focus check and then do some validation before close the popup. So what I was thinking that is there any inbuilt focus check event or do we need to create custom event for that?

I have a web application which contains a data grid. Double clicking on any row of that grid will open a popup (lets call it popup1). Now this popup1 again opens a new popup(lets call it popup2). When I close the popup2, I need pass an Object to popup1. Which is the easiest way to do that?
(PS: While opening popup2 from popup1, I am adding an event listener on Close event of popup2)

I have a parsley popup that can create another popup.The issue comes when I close the root popup, when I open the popup again and click on the child popup, it's actually opening 2 child popups.Any idea why this thing happen?

I purchased a flash template and replaced all of the information with ours. The problem that I'm having is that when customers fill out the contact form on the 'contact' page, it doesn't send their email to us (which is one of the fields).

So say there's the URL [URL] which has the movie flashmovie.swf embeded in it ... is there a way to get the URL from inside flashmovie.swf and cast it into a string datatype?
I've been picking apart the _global object by recursively un-hiding it and the objects it holds properties, but so far have not come up with anything that could prove useful.

I've got an array, events, where I store objectdata, such asevents.id (String), events.action (String) and events.time (Number).In a for-loop, I want to go through the array and for each object I want to connect a Timer which runs the function "takeIt" which runs the public function "newEvent". The object in the array, events.id contains information about the object which is running newEvent, and in the array, events.action there are alse information which action to use. The events[i].time contains information about the timer delay which seems to work.How should I wite this to make it work?

What I need to obtain is the playhead location of a playing video when the Stop button is pressed. I need this to be either in milliseconds or hours:minutes:seconds. Either format is fine as I can work with either.I need this so that I can add a cue point to the video so that when the user returns to the presentation, it will start playing again at that point.

I'm making a very simple MP3 player in Flash CS4 Professional 10.0.2 that loads a song from an array containing the locations of the songs and plays it. The player also displays the artist and song info name in dynamic text fields as specified in the ID3 section of the MP3 file. It works as desired when I load the MP3 before playing it. This is the relevant portion of the code, highlighted in green to indicate that it functions as I want:

What's odd is that if I comment out the last two lines of the onID3 function, so that the function only performs the trace command that's highlighted in orange, it works! This tells me that it's loading the ID3 information. So why can't it display the information from the currentSong variable?
EDIT: I'm pulling the MP3 files from the same server as the SWF. I would not be pulling them from a remote location!

I am using location.loadMovie("image 1.jpg") to load images into my site, seeing how these images are not within my swf. but externally stored they load when I goto the location in the timeline, not in the beginning of my swf file with the other content (after my preloader runs) is there a way to have a preloader show up ( I want to use load % and movie clip for preloader) and tell you how much is loaded so someone knows there is an image there that is being loaded and not just a blank screen?
