View 2 RepliesI am trying to save the information for a layout of movie clips on my stage. I am using the sqlite functionality in order to be able to save the layout to the local database. Each layout consists of several movie clips. My plan was to store pertinent information regarding these movie clips (such as x and y position) in order to be able to reload some new clips in the exact same place.
My problem here is that I want to create just one row in my database for each layout, but I want one column in that row to store the information for each of those clips (in a single row). Is there some kind of nested table functionality in sqlite?6564

What i have been doing is formatting the result from the database query into xml and then putting the result into an arraycollection. It all works fine except one of my database fields contains a lot of text that website users enter and as xml doesn't like tags like <> so I leave it un formatted but I would like to format it. Would I be better using flashvars or text than xml? Or is there another way?

I am using event listeners to pass the information back to the main datagrid. It checks if the number of lines returned is the same as before, if not then there are more lines, it counts the difference then it need to push this information to the Flex client saying that it has new information, (x) more lines have been written.I am not really sure how to do the push mechanism on the php proxy because I am not sure how to actually push from the proxy to the client, never done it before.

When I save the project, I do not get any errors or warnings. However, when I attempt to output the values in the component, the projectPositions piece comes back as Null.

I need to pass along a string with my FileReference, or provide that string as an argument when an event fires. To be clear, it really annoys me that AS3 doesn't allow you to pass parameters on events.Right now, I've extended the FileReference class to include an additional variable. I'm trying to get this to compile, but it won't compile; I think I don't know how to import this class correctly. If you can tell me how to import this class correctly so that I no longer get Error: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant at compile time that would be great.

I have a scheduling application that allows users to save any changes. When the user clicks the save button, Flex sends all the information to a coldfusion script which picks the information apart and sends saves it to the database. That all works well and good, but I would like to be able to display some sort of text to the user saying something like "Your file was successfully saved" or "There has been an error.

Is it possible to recover the HttpHeader information from a flex Client? I want to do the following:
User download the flex client from a web site
In each communication flex client catch the HttpHeader information in order to change (If it is necessary) the host information to be connected (For example in a HA configuration)

I've heard that using a BeanFactoryPostProcessor might be helpful, or a property editor/convertor. However I am at a loss as to how best to use them to solve my problem.

View 2 RepliesCurrently I'm making a Designer (tShirt Designer) application. What it does up till now is let you put simple tekston the front and back (the front resides on frame 1 and back on frame 2), it lets you upload an image scale, rotate and position it.
Now what I'm curious about and don't know anything of is how do I send this information to the responsible company or server or email that print/make these shirts. I though about a simple way of sending it the same as you do a email form, but then it made me realise, how does the company know, how, where and how big the text or image must be.

View 3 RepliesI have a file full of text; if this were html, I'd just make an iframe and in the frame, I'd have the text page with "back to top" links throughout. But since this is flash, I'm loading an external text file, and I'd like some "back to the top" links within it. I know how to do a "back to the top" in html, but it doesn't seem to work in a loaded text file in flash. Or is there a better way to present a lot of information in flash?
