What I'm trying to do, is to get weather informations from a flash animation on a web page. I'd like to convert those informations into data for statistical purposes.

so instead you have to access it with PHP print the contents into xml and have AS3 read the XML are there any other methods of doing it?
I wanted to make a visulisation based on sound, like a winamp plug in.The only thing that even remotely looks like it uses sound information is the sound players on FlashKit. View 9 RepliesI have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

I am trying to retrive the ARCHIVE String, but can't seem to do that, without also getting the <level3>COLOR</level3> node. I am doing this like this: _
xmlData.navigation.level1.level2[0], which returns this:
ARCHIVE
<level3>COLOR</level3>
How do I get it to where it only returns the ARCHIVE?
I don't know if this is too much to ask but could someone give me a quick overview on how to create an email form that actually sends the information to my email? I have the form created, and I'll post the .fla file (I allow a laugh at my elementary flash movie. This is just a final project for an intro to flash class), and I understand I'll need the .asp file from GoDaddy setup on my hosted space.
View 3 RepliesI am using location.loadMovie("image 1.jpg") to load images into my site, seeing how these images are not within my swf. but externally stored they load when I goto the location in the timeline, not in the beginning of my swf file with the other content (after my preloader runs) is there a way to have a preloader show up ( I want to use load % and movie clip for preloader) and tell you how much is loaded so someone knows there is an image there that is being loaded and not just a blank screen?

Basically I trying to make a vertical timeline on the lefthand side with years (in text) which expand slightly on mousover and when clicked show the relavent information on the righthand side for that year.I can't seem to get the text to expand on mouseover?
I am trying to change information on my site using cue points in my video. My video is in a flash quiz and I am trying to change my objects such as an ad or photo with these cue points. In otherwords, when a video begins, or when a cue point is reached the photo outside the video would change. I am currently using cue points to go to the next frame after the video completes, but I don't know how to make it change things outside the video.
View 2 RepliesI have been importing illustrator .ai artwork into my project, and along the way, something wierd has happened with resizing stuff. If I am putting font iside a movieclip that is being used for a button, I can put the same size font into two different moviclips and they are different sizes. I somehow zero them out so they are 100% at the size I want or do I have to resize in another porgram and then reimport into Flash?Am I missing a magic button here?
View 2 Repliesok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

View 1 RepliesOn a horizontal bar, text scrolls from left to right, continuously. The text is a fixed string of city names, and I've made it so that it loops nicely. This horizontal bar with scrolling text is part of a vertical animation, scrolling the bar in and out of view. The vertical tween starts after two seconds. When the vertical tween starts, the horizontal animation has started as well. At the beginning and end of the vertical tween, the horizontal tween starts over. I want it to continu.

View 3 RepliesI am building a Dutch website where people can search for availble houses tot rent. The website is completly free for every one. But to make some money I have added the possiblity for house owners to put there website in the spotlight in Dutch "uitgelicht" (see : http:[url].....). Now I have the following problem. Not every browser shows it in the correct way and I wanted to change the banner in to a flash banner. So I started out in flash to create a "image belt" like this. But now I want to insert some images from a database and I am stuck.
The Question : Where and how do I tell Flash to insert images from a db. I know PHP but I don't know where to start looking.
I built a Flash animation which keeps looping. I am trying to get it to not loop at all and it refuses.

Is it possible to use 3D objects created in 3D Max, Blendor, iClone etc. to perform animation to make Flash Movie more realistic? Can I make nice animations like in iClone 4 Software? If it is possible to use 3D Objects in Flash

It is a horizontal layout and when you click on certain buttons it side scrolls to that specific area. The buttons don't execute the actionscript that I need them to not to mention that some images are missing.
Also, are there any bulk packaging publisher settings like InDesign has? I think there may be a problem in the location of some files and I think Flash may not be locating them properly.
I'm learning flash animation and am wondering once I save the flash file to a dvd format, how does the end-user navigate when they put the dvd into their TV? Do I need to design and incorporate a menu for the end-user? If so, how does the TV remote control navigate through this menu that was created on a Mac computer?

Watch the BEST DESIGN STUDIO animation... These animations aren't made with flash, but with a software from which to export a swf file that contains a sequence of shapes.What is it? It seems to work in 3d, but the objects moved are always planes and not 3d models.

I'm trying to create a really fluid animation in flash, how do you think the designer animated the arms of the black shadow guy that appears right at the begginning of this game? [URL]. That's really fluid, did he just make some sort of shape tween? Or the Cyanide and Happiness series on youtube, how did they animate like that?

View 4 RepliesI have 1656x1332 px 30fps movie clip sliding or rotating on click event inside of 850x550 px stage. For some reason the clip gets stuck on rotation sometimes, even though the whole file is only 46 KB. Moreover, depending on browser, the rotating part can fly completely off the stage and the only way to get it back is to refresh.[code]
View 4 Repliescreated a new layer with one keyframe in frame 1, which spans the whole animation. In this layer I entered the ActionScript in REFERENCE 1. It works fine in several browsers, including IE8, FF3.6, and Chrome, and works for the customer. Then....
Their webmaster emailed back saying that he "did not see any links in the new banner." I'm not sure what this means, and if he actually tested the code.They sent me an example from a previous developer, which is REFERENCE 2.I compared it to what I published--which was generated by the CS4 "Publish" option. This is REFERENCE 3.Did I do something wrong? Everything works in all my tests, and they work for the customer.
It looks like they're missing a lot of information from the header. It is much smaller than the header that CS4 generates. They also have a link under the <!--url's used in the movie--> comment. Could this affect the performance? To my knowledge, this is obsolete. Perhaps they used an older version of Flash?
