View 4 RepliesI have created a script for an Adobe FMS application to broadcast a playlist of video files as a live stream. (internet tv)
I am now working on a custom Flash-based video player to play my stream.
How do I send information from my server-side FMS application (main.asc) to the client-side video player? (e.g: title, duration of current video player)
I want to get information about: How many FMS connections are there in total?How many connections to a specific stream are there in total?How many online FMS user are there?
View 1 Repliesis it possible to extend the access.log file? I want to pass user information via the connect method to the application and want to include this data in the access.log file.
View 5 RepliesI want to add some custom string into the FMS log file. If I am playing a video and I want to append some string every time when that video is played, which is in some way useful to me in analyzing FMS log, then is there anything provided or some function in which we can just pass the string as an input argument that appends it at appropriate place in the log file.
View 3 RepliesI'm kinda noobish when it comes to getting information from XML information sent to my flash file from the socket server. OK so for example the server sends me this:
[Code]...
I want to get the name of the user and the X and Y position! Is there a way I can get this information without a load of fuss from functions and other junk remember im kinda noobish.
Cen i communicate to FMS from browser not with swf. For example - by javascript from user side or by C# from IIS server side.
I need to built a live chat appliction where the swf only get the live streem and show it to the user but all the other logic code that communicate to FMS will be not in the swf and not in some *.exe file.
I need this because this live chat appliction will have to work on apple ipad and iphone soon when FMS will be able to stream to those devices and i will have to abandon the swf anyway.

Currently we have a swf file application that runs in a browser and takes the live video stream from the camera on the computer and streams a live sorenson spark stream to the fms 3.5 server.
Question is: How to live stream vp6 from the browser/swf file on the camera computer, instead of the sorenson spark. (We seem to be stuck only on sorenson spark).
We have several small websites, some with limited php and some with small mysql databases and we are planning on running Flash Media Server as well all on one RedHat server. I have installed the FMS and apache as per default installation and all is working ok I see the sample videos and have added some of my own videos. I have added some content under /opt/adobe/fms/webroot and this appears ok.
I have 2 flat sites called mysite1 and mysite2
Apache is installed as the default install on linux under /opt/adobe/fms/Apache2.2.
I have installed php php -vPHP 5.1.6 (cli) (built: Feb 26 2009 07:01:12) Copyright (c) 1997-2006 The PHP GroupZend Engine v2.1.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2006 Zend Technologies
I have the following in my httpd.conf file and this seems to work ok for the virtual hosts in apache as I can see these sites
NameVirtualHost *:8134
<VirtualHost *:8134> DocumentRoot "/opt/adobe/fms/webroot" ServerName myservername
ErrorLog /var/log/httpd/error.myservername.log .....
But when I go to look at a php page all I saw was the php text. So for example I go to [URL] page appears fine, when I go to [URL] all I see is the php text. I looked at the php.conf file from another server and I noticed that it used modules/libphp5.which is not available on this copy of Apache so I am not sure what I need to do to get php running on the server.
i'm developing a web site, and i'm trying to let the user record some video from his webcam. I'm using actionscript and flash media server. I got it work in my delevoper enviroment, but when i deployed it to the production server, the webcam can't get connected to the FMS. I'm afraid this is because of port blocking from the firewall. Does anyone knows wich ports are userd for recording from a browser by the Flash Media Server? I open the 1935 port in the Flas Media Server, but it still doesn't work.
View 19 RepliesWe are experiences a phenomena that flash clients connecting to a live (pre recoreded)stream served from FMS (we use 3.5.2), have their buffer grow out of proportionit is alsoccompanied mostly with a complete video freeze, until the browser crashes.(you can expect a crash after having more then 4000 seconds of video buffer active in memory)The more we switch streams via a playlist,the more this seems to happen,Thus, streaming long video feeds keeps the system stable, but when injectingfeeds into a main stream and switching back increases the probability

View 1 RepliesI use video player from the flash media server and it will playback url.. as this originates from Flash media encoder then i have to enter this on the videoplayer but when i replace localhost with my IP address i get no joy at all. Also i can run url...ok from videoplayer in the media server but it allows the user to use http so how is this achieve as i cannot get it to work at all. tells me there is no connection. also this i try using local host and my IP address as well but no joy.
View 4 RepliesI'm having trouble connecting to a remote persistent shared object. When I run from the Flash authoring environment it works. But when I run it from a browser it doesn't. The code attaches an event listener to the sync event, and then calls so.connect(nc).
As mentioned - it works inside Flash authoring only. In both cases the connection to the server is successful. I also tried setting client.readAccess to "/" in the application.onConnect function of the server-side code - but it doesn't help. (Everything was written by me including the server-side application code. I have full control and access to the server).
Also, I can see the remote object exists on the server in the admin console.And as mentioned, when running inside Flash CS5 - the onsync gets triggered after connecting to the shared object.But, the same code under a browser - doesn't trigger the onsync.The SharedObject.getRemote method on the client side returns an object on both occasions.
How does the url of FMS real time video stream look like?
View 1 RepliesI only started coding Actionscript about two weeks ago and I really need help on this, I am seriously considering just coding an if statement for each value if I can't figure this out. Sorry if my code is terrible formatted, I am self taught using Adobe Help.This is what I need help on.I have a program installed on a game server (CoD4) that outputs the server information including player(s) info and would like to be able to make it so that there is a flash document on the website displaying the information for each player. I wanted the program to build the information automatically and so far I have been able to make it work but the formatting of the output is terrible.To make things simple, the only real information I need from each player is their name and guid. Hopefully each player's info is on a new line.This is the xml document the server is outputting:HTML Code:[URL]
Code:
import flash.net.URLRequest;
import flash.net.URLLoader;
import flash.events.*;

Can Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 run on AMD Athlon Dual Sock Quad Core?I just requested a Dell server to be added to our farm to run as a Media Server and to my surprise, while reading the requirements for FMS it states the following: 3.2GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 processor (dual Intel Xeon® or faster recommended)
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to troubleshoot a Flash Media Server working with a little video playback application I wrote a few years ago that has suddenly stopped working.I'm using CS3/Actionscript 3.My app uses the FLVPlayback Component, and was working well last time I checked. I recevied a report that the videos stopped working, and have been looking into it.I figured I'd add a bunch of event listeners to the FLVPlayback's ncMgr.netConnection so I could get debug info on things like io errors, net status, etc.The problem I'm running into is that the netConnection is null when I set it to anything on my Flash Media Server, and adding any event listeners to this netConnection throws errors.Here's what I've tried so far:
Playback of a local FLV file works fine.In the FLVPlayback documentation, I found an example and stole the URL of the stream they were using in the example, and that works fine, although it is an HTTP protocol stream rather than RTMP.Any attempt to access FLV files on my Media Server, which has worked fine in the past, basically cause the FLVPlayback object to sit and hang in "buffering" mode and never progresses beyond this point.The netConnection object in this case is null.Here's my code:[code]........
Again the purpose of this is to troubleshoot the video streaming from the Flash Media Server, and it seems like there is no netconnection to the server being created.Does this mean that the server is not working, or is there a problem with the way I'm trying to access the content on the server?This was all working fine before, and I have set up the server-side application .ASC files and such to allow things to work fine on the server end.
How can we automatically configure edge from the admin console of flash media interactive server?
View 1 RepliesI would like to know the number of connection allowed in the free developer ediiton of Flash Media Server.
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.
I want to know one things, is there any other settings required to publish the swf file for playing mp4 file in mobile browser also. I am able to play ".FLV" in mobile browser but not able to play ".MP4" (H.264 encoded) in my mobile browser.MP4 file required Flash Player 10 to play video I know this,I can watch video from youtube.com in mobile bowser also.
View 1 RepliesI have to a problem using the Flash Media Interactive Server Feature Explorer. I want use the sample: RecordStream. I can see the instance "RecordStream" in console FMS 3.5. and show me the video in app AIR, but does not save the .FLV in my server.

View 1 RepliesI have Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 (not Interactive) running on RHEL5.5 x86_64 Linux.All is working well, however how do I prevent unauthorized access to connecting to the live stream and streaming content?How can I setup the server to require a user and password to stream live media to the server?I am new to this product and I have been reading some documentation but I have not found a clear cut answer on how to force a username and password to connect to the server to stream live content only.I am using the Adobe FMS Apache install, what files need changing?[code]I want to lock down a person from connecting to the server on the public internet and starting a live stream?Can this be done with a user name and password?

View 8 RepliesWe purchased FMIS and we are encoding large 15+ hour MP4 recordings using flash media encoder. When opening these large files for playback, which have not been opened recently the player displays the loading indicator for up to 4 minutes! Once it has apparently been cached on the server it opens immediately from any browser even after clearing local browser cache. So a few questions for the experts
1. Why is it taking so long to load the file. Is it because the MP4 metadata is in the wrong format and the file is so huge? I read somewhere that Media Encoder records with incorrect MP4 metadata is that still the case?
2. Once its cached on the server, exactly how much of it is cached. Some of these files are larger than 500mb.
3. What fms settings do you suggest I change. FMIS is running on windows server R2 64 bit, but FMIS itself is 32 bit. We have not upgraded to the 64 bit version. We have 8GB of ram. Is it OK to set FMS cache to 3GB. And would that only have enough room for 3-4 large files, because we have hundreds of them.
is it possible fast forward, rewind video in flash media server through flash action script ?
