It scrolls till the end of text but not to the beginning....
I prefer to build custom drag functions using the TimeEvent etc. Below I have some code where as when I click on a MovieClip it fires the imageStartDrag function which then begins the imageDrag function consecutively.Currently when I click and drag it moves the image fine, however it is snapping to the far left of the image.What I would like is to be able to click and drag so that the image drags from it's original point. My brain is a bit confused, what do I edit in 'imageLoader.x = mouseX;' to have it starting from it's original position and moving. (Note, I'm only testing with the X Axis atm, later it will use the Y Axis too.)

I have some scrolling content (info). I've also made my own scroll bar.I want the scrollBar dragger to be positioned in relation to the info._y as the user scrolls info.I have created two vars: one that worsk out where info._y is as a percentage and the other that works out where the scroll._y dragger should be as a percentage...

also onMouseWheel working too.I need a small bit of code that takes the % of info._y and moves the scrollBar dragger to the same % but in relation to the Stage.height...so if projectGalleryPercent = 50%, make dragger._y 50% of Stage.height using scrollBarPercent.
I am using a ScrollPane in my application(viz., instance name is: myScrollPane). When I view the contents of the ScrollPane, it shows them perfectly. My issue is: When I try to view data present inside the ScrollPane, if I move the Vertical-ScrollBar of the ScrollPane to middle(or somewhere from top to down) and then click on Submit button(viz., instance name is: submit_btn), then its Vertical ScrollPosition must be reset from middle(or any position where we leave it before) to top(or initial position). Hence, I need to move the Vertical ScrollPosition of ScrollPane to top (or) initial position. Everytime, I need to refresh the VerticalScrollBar Position when I click on the submit button. How to do it?

This works fine but how can that be when surely you must access the red withen the background rather then just accessing red?
ok - i'm totally confused here... this is probably a stupid noob question... just recently got flash 8 - upgrading from mx2004, but had previously been using flash 6 components and AS1, due to files that had already been written in mx... my problem is this - i have a dynamic text field, populated with data from a LoadVars object. When a button is pressed, different data is loaded into the text field, and the scrollBar is supposed to reset to the top (position=0)

View 5 RepliesIn my main .fla I have a scrollpane which opens an external SWF, inside this external SWF I have 5 frames, each with a 'Next' button at the bottom, the problem is when the user clicks the 'Next' button the the scrollpane doesn't change the position of the scrollbar, so essentially the user is looking at the bottom of the next frame. Is there any way to reset the scrollbar position from either the external SWF (linking to the main SWF), or with some code in the main SWF?

View 1 RepliesI have a horizontal scrollbar. I want this scrollbar to move a movie clip left and right on the screen.I cannot figure out what I am doing. In one example I'm looking at, it has the script on the button of the slider:

I can't figure out the math for my scrollbar. How do I find the fraction that is in this part of the script? The numbers are not matching up for me. I also can't get my slider to go left to right. It keeps going down. And my image that is suppose to be scrolling the with slider is not even moving.
I ve got a series of frames, each with its own instance of a scrollPane called actionText. When navigating from frame to frame I want the vertical scroll position of actionText to reset to 0.For some reason these separate instances of the component are inheriting scroll positions from one another,for example,if I scroll to 50% in one frame, jump to a new frame with a new instance of actionText, that new instance starts at 50%, not 0.
I should be able to set the scroll position by actionText.vPostion = 0 but I get Position is an undefined property of the object actionText .Roll over either the star one or star twotabs and select any action item, scroll the text down (actually a pdf converted to swf), then navigate to another action item and the new scrollPane does not default to 0. Only stars one and two are coded.[url]......
In my app, the user clicks on an object, which centers the object on the screen. The user's cursor stays where he/she clicked. I find that it is kind of disorienting to have the object move without the cursor. For the user's convenience, I would like to move the cursor to the center of the stage as well.

MyProblem,When the player starts the sndPosition is null, so it was not playing. If I set some value, when I am refreshing it will not continue from the last position. How can I set the initial position to play from the start?
I am create a flash mp3 player. In that I am displaying the song.position(time completed played). The song.position is not setting to zero, when a new song is played. It is continuing with the previous song. For example, if the previous song time is 30 seconds. the song.position is started from zero and comes to 30 seconds. After that song is completed and a again a new song is started, the song.position is starting as 30 seconds and gets increasing. It is not setting to zero at the start of the second song. I even set the song.position=0, when the previous song is completed.
View 1 RepliesI've creating a drag and drop card game in AS 2.0 and need to set the cards randomly in set positions every time the game is played. no two cards can be in the same space, so the taken position needs to be taken out of the array.I am not concerned about the Y value just X . I think this needs to be an array containing the positions. then using slice to remove the value from the array. I'm not sure how to assigned the array position to the movie clip.

There, there is a back button so they can return to the list of images. Instead of jumping back to the top, I want the back button to return them to where they were in the list of images beforehand. how do I log the value of the scroll position, and then set it to that value when the page is loaded again?

googling returns that the solution is to do this:

My sound object (below) is working with my volume dragger, but not with the mute button as well. The mute button works without the dragger, but they don't work together.

View 3 RepliesI am trying to get this dragger to work on the play head of my audio player. I get it to drag but when i let go it jumps back to the place it was before. You may need to change the sound file to get it to work but I have attached all other files needed to get it to work.

I am currently working on the Slider Bars tutorial at [URL]. I got dragger to work, I just want to better understand the dragger.onPress=function() part. With a normal function you have:
function hello(){
trace("hello");
}
Then when I wanted to run the function, I would use:
hello();
Ok so if dragger is pressed (onPress) then it creates a function, right? So how do you run the function? Or is the function running as I'm pressing dragger?
I've been using the loader class to import external swf files when I need them. I can position them on the screen where I need them using the:
loader_var.x
and
loader_var.y properties
However something that seems to stump me is how to position the loaded content below other content in the movie. I tried making the layer where I was actually calling my external file below the other layers and yet when I export the Flash movie the clip that I'm importing at run time always ends up on top of every thing. Is there a way to specify which objects imported media comes in above or below?
I created a custom scroll bar, you can see it here [URL] My scroll dragger is not working. First, I have removed all of my code except my scroll bar code and my scroll dragger still doesn't work. If I remove all of my stage elements and leave my custom scroll bar on the stage, the scroll dragger works. If I try to add an object back onto the stage the scroll dragger stops working. It doesn't seem to matter what object I add back to the stage. There are no compile errors or output errors to fix. I even created a new fla and I am getting the same issue. Adding movie clips from the library to the stage prevents the dragger from working. I am really puzzled by this. I am using Flash CS3. I have added a zip file of my fla.
View 3 RepliesI took the kirupa end of days scroller tutorial and modified it to create a scrollbar for text and movieclips. It worked fine if everything was in the root, but I had to drop it in its own movieclip and re-target everything. Since doing so, the mc that should be scrolling no longer moves when I slide the dragger.
