Do you want to abort the script?"if i click "no" everything continues to run fine. if i click "yes" my movie freezes in the middle of loading with the progress bar stopped at whatever percentage has already loaded.After perusing the forums, it seems that an infinite loop is causing this, but I don't know enough about actionscript to track it down.

I am using the new Flash Player 11 ability to encode H264 video within the Flash Player. I am streaming the webcam via RTMP to a FMS. I am using the following settings:H.264 BaselineLevel 5.1Keyframe freq. 5 seconds25 FPSInput size: 1280 x 720 (720p)Output size: 1280 x 720 (720p)Bit Rate: 1000KbpsWhen I am using these settings with FMLE 3.2, the final stream plays very fluent with a good amount of FPS. If I am using Flash Player 11 for the encoding job instead, the final video is not as fluent as before and achieves less FPS (maybe 5 FPS).So the question is: is Flash Player 11 not as good as FMLE 3.2 or am I missing some configuration?

View 9 RepliesI have a basic movie, where on the main timeline i have a series of stops to pause the movie,so the user can choose to proceed by selecting a play button. When the play button is pressed it plays a video. While it is playing this video there is also a button on stage allowing the user to skip to a frame label. I also have drop down menu on the same frames the play button is on in the form of a movie clip.This drop down menu contains buttons which navigate to the main timeline, to different frame labels.
But after selecting a few buttions (using the menu in the movie clip or not) I get the error "'A script in this movie is causing Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.
On very slow machines (>p200Mhz) I sometimes get an error that says "A script in the movie is causing macromedia flash player 6 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" Yes, No.
I have a loop function that populates a listbox, sometimes the file it loops from is over 2000 lines, and takes a long time for the listbox to populate. In this time I get the error. If I hit No on the error everything works just fine. I am almost for sure there is no problem with my script, flash just thinks the loop is set to infinity or something and pops open the error box.
My computer jsut keeps freezing, before it completely does this message appears: (I am not playing any movies - I just reinstalled my whole operating system, so its not like I doing tons of things on when this happen, if I open more than one page - things just freeze and even with one page it takes forever to get to anything. View 3 RepliesI have a Flash-file that loads external SWFs. There I use LoadVars to get external data from a server. When the data has arrived, I'm using setInterval to call a function that fades-in the content. But when I switch menus (a.k.a. unload one movie to load another) before all the data has arrived, Flash hangs for like 15 seconds and then shows me the infamous message script in this movie is slowing down Flash - would you like to abort it?(roughly translated). I attached an onUnload-function to the SWF that causes the major problems, where I use clearInterval to get rid of the interval and re-instantiate the LoadVars-Variable.

I am having a problem with the anti-alias that is applied to my text.I am using a sans-serif narrow font and this problem appears based on the color that I set to the text.From 000000 to c8c8c8, the font is displayed properly. From c9c9c9 to ffffff, the font is displayed with what I think is a lot of anti-alias, so much that it looks like it is bold.I have tested a different font and this is not happening with other fonts.
View 3 RepliesI think I inherited bad code, here's the deal: In my command, I create a local var for the remote object and then call a method on it. In the result, if there's no data, I start a timer. This timer broadcasts an event every 2 seconds that continually calls this command until data is returned. Then the timer is stopped.
What we're seeing is that the method returns data once, and then the next time it doesn't (dupe Flex sessions error). It basically alternates. If we click really fast, sometimes we'll get two to work in a row. At times, the Java dev is seeing these requests returned with different JSESSIONIDs. I believe this is causing the duplicate Flex sessions error. I'm using Cairngorm; here's the execute command.

I'm currently trying to implement an automated bug reporter for a Flex application, and would like to return error messages to a server along with the function/line number that caused the error. Essentially, I'm trying to get the getStackTrace() information without going into debug mode, because most users of the app aren't likely to have the debug version of flash player.My current method is using the UncaughtErrorEvent handler to catch errors that occur within the app, but the error message only returns the type of error that has occurred, and not the location (which means it's useless). I have tried implementing getStackTrace() myself using a function name-grabber such as [code]
but that will only work because of arguments.callee, and so won't go through multiple levels of function calls (it would never get above my error event listener).Anyone have any ideas on how to get informative error messages through the global error event handler? There seems to be some misunderstanding. I'm explicitly avoiding getStackTrace() because it returns 'null' when not in debug mode.

I have the bat and ball doing what I want, however, the wall section is causing me a problem.

I put it in either onLoad or onEnterFrame and it makes Flash run slowly. I can understand why in onEnterFrame (as it is running it continualy therefore inifite loop style) but not when I put it in onLoad as that shouldn't cause Flash to slow down.

I have made a simple animation in Flash and the i exported into a swf. The problem is, that the movie is running slow, jerky or in other words is playing in slow motion. I have changed the frame rate but with luck, is there a problem with video player/codec?
*Edit1: the clip doesn't have any code, is hand drawing on 6 layers; also when i import this movie in Adobe Premier and the export in .avi the jerky effect disappears.[Url]

I am currently working on a flash website for a client, I am a PHP and Csharp developer and am reasonably new to flash/ActionScript 3. The website has a video gallery with 10 thumbnails, when one is clicked the specific video is loaded into an FLVPlayback component.
The problem I am having is that on slower internet connections the site and videos are running really slowly and even occasionally getting stuck and crashing! Currently there is no preloader for the site as a whole but I have a preloader for each video, a loading animation is played until the FLVPlayback component has loaded 50% of the video in, then it plays. I also set the bufferTime of the FLVPLayback component to 10 which seemed to help the stuttering sound.
The flvs are reasonably large some a few hundred MB, is there a way to optimize flash websites or does anyone have any tips on how to make the site and videos run smoother on slower connections, bearing in mind on my fast internet connection at home the site works well.

I saw a message a few days ago that talked about writing an onEnterFrame routine in a dummy movie clip that increments a counter, but there were no details about what that code might look like. I have tried several iterations of that logic to no avail. I know I am not the only one with this problem, and I do need to find a solution. I don't think that the server php settings are the problem.

I've got a MovieClip containing several child clips (images and text). I'm trying to scale this parent clip very slowly - from 102% down to 98% - this works, however the child movie clips are all scaling a bit jerkily - like they're trying to stick to pixels or something. What's the cure for this? The scaling is done by using a motion tween on the timeline by the way. I've tried to tick "Cache Bitmap" but that makes no difference. If I used the 3D motion tween, there is no jerkyness. But I need to publish to flash 9, so can't use that!

View 2 RepliesNovice in actionscript and have a problem loading an html file combined with a css stylesheet into a dynamic text field. I have 2 pages... 1st page always loads correctly but second page all you see the text fields is "undefined". When I view local machine all is well until I load onto server and for the first page of my site all is well but for the second page I receive "undefined" in the dynamic text field... This only happens the first time. When I click through the different pages('undefined', 'undefined', 'undefined'..) and return to the previous ones the text suddenly is displayed correctly! I have read elsewhere that I need to wait for the LoadVars onload command to finnish but I am at a loss to fix this...

I get a working application in Flash made that lets the user click to create blocks which subsequently gravitate towards the mouse. I made the exact same thing in Processing too, just to compare speeds.However, when I run the Flash version and add around 15-20 blocks, the framerate drops to 5-10 FPS.In the Processing version I can add ~60 with no noticeable slowdown. What's the deal, Flash?

My loader component works when I publish to Flash Player 7 but not when I publish to Flash Player 8, why? The publish setting are for ActionScript 2.0 on both.
