I am using the following actionscript 2.0 on the first frame of my flash movie to not play the .flv until its 50% loaded. This works great but the rest of the movie advances as that preloads. How do I stop the advance of the flash movie as well until the .flv loads 50%? [code]...

I enabled Simple Buttons and clicked on the buttons containing the AS; they are not functioning. Although, the play, stop, goto first and last frame buttons work. I am perplexed. I have tried creating a new .fla file with a different .wmv, and the failure to function persists.
I have a four frame fla with a video flv in each frame... myVideo1 and so forth.
Problem. After one of the frame is playing and left for another... it continues to load.
How do I stop this? I would expect that being a frame to frame fla.. this wouldnt happen.
I have a CS5 FLA file with AS 3.0 with the following code for the preloader:

The preloader is in the first four frames -- it's just the background photo, a graphic logo, and the loading numeral text.
Everything runs great the first time it's loaded; then if you refresh the page, the graphics in the first four preloader frames flash on the screen before the movie plays.
I have a website.fla and when i change page i want the video to stop playing because at the moment it continues to play in the background even when on a different page.
View 5 RepliesI've been making the transition from AS2 to AS3 for the last week and am making progress. But I'm having a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. I'm using Flash CS5. I have a fairly simple Flash website I'm working on. I have sections on the timeline like Home, About, Photos, Media ... all set up using labels for each of those sections. Everything is working fine but when I go to my Media section where I have a video placed (using the flv component) I'm having a problem as follows:
The video auto plays fine when I go to the Media section but when I attempt to leave the section and go to another the sound of the video doesn't stop. It continues to play when I go to another section and if I go back to the section it starts again. The video is not there when I go to another section which is the part that's confusing me. In AS2 when I did this the video and the sound both stopped because you went to another section on the timeline. Why is the sound of the video not stopping in AS3?
Here s my problem, my stage contains 2 loaders, on the top there s an swf that contains buttons (my menu) and on the botom it loads in my content swf's.works out fine for fotos and so one, but im stuck when the loaded content is a video..
on my videoswf i ve got a play and a return(with stop) button, to return back to a frame to select what video should be played.. those buttons work perfectly, of course
the problem is now, that when i play the video and press a button from the upper loaded swf ( the menu) it loads another swf as usual,.. but the sound of the video still plays (so there has to be a child somewhere)..
now, how can i erase that movie instance when i cant excess it from the upper swf? is there a global value like stopEveryF*thing, or something like that ?
give me the actionscript for a bar that has a play and stop button to play and stop frames in a flash movie. i would be gratefull if you could as i am really stuck
View 2 RepliesI made a game with Adobe CS3 and posted it on the internet, and some users (very few, but some) have reported that the game doesn't work, it just runs through every frame without regards to stop() or anything else..
It's at 50fps, which might matter, and it's located at [URL] if you may need to take a look at it.
I just need to know if this is something that I can fix on my end, or if these people may need to update their flash player or what else it might be?
my reverse button causes the timeline to ignore the stop() function on its keyframe and play backwards all the way to the start. Since it keeps trying to play the previous frame, it's frozen at frame 1.

I am wanting to play a number of movie clips and flash produced video clips. On the main timeline I have a frame for each clip I want to play. In that frame is a flash movie that contains the video that I have embedded onto the timeline for the movie. The filesize for this project is massive and I am struggling to work on the file. I want to be able to play the video files with the playback component in each of the frames where the video was.

There's a whole lot of other things going on, but basically the text field is working fine - except for one strange thing: the cursor does not advance as the user types. The result is that as the user types different characters they just stack up on top of each other. The characters don't overwrite one another, but rather just stack up in the space for the first character. Here's the part of my code that defines the text field:

I'm comfortable with PHP and Javascript but this is the first time I'm using flash. I have Flash CS5.
I've managed to import a movie file, however, as soon as it's downloaded it starts playing. I've tried using the Action stop(); coding, which works file in the export preview in CS5, but on a website it runs straight away.
I know I can't use the command because that stops the timeline but by then the video is already playing. My solution would be to use and have the video in frame 2, then get javascript to jump to frame 2 when I was ready. However, I can't find a way to import a video file to a frame in CS5. Is there a better way?
i imported a fv4 video on Flash CS5. Video works. ButVideo sound dont stop when i clicked main button.

The video works great, my only problem is that I want the sound to stop when I click on other buttons on the page. The way I designed the site (maybe not a great set up) everything is in one big swf file, so when you click on another button on the page to show another project, the sound from the video file (that is no longer showing) is still playing.URL...

it does remove the videoLoader but the sounds keeps playing... so im assuming that the video is still going.... how can i kill entirely??

But I need my video in DIV2 to STOP PLAYING when it's hidden, and start from the beginning when you show it again. From what I read, I need to remove it from the DOM...but I don't understand how to re-add it. I've seen suggestions for detach(); but can't figure out where my AppendTo() would go.
