I've been working on the XML Thumbnail gallery tutorial posted up and I wanted to know if it's possible to make a complex rollover effect on an xml button? For example I would like to make this character { rotated 180 degrees above the button as a person highlights the button. How would I go about that.

i personalized to my needs and it works fine
at the end of the roll in the zoom in should stop and i have three buttons who send me to other three sites
when i put the button on the stage this will not work.. probably is the code of the complexbutton who blocks the other buttonfunction....
im getting mad trying some possibilitys but nothing will work

I'm working on creating a gallery for my portfolio site. I have thumbnails of all my work. I've turned them into button and made it so when you rollover it, a larger preview of it appears with a description of the piece, off to the side in a designated area. Instead of making my stage larger or creating more pages to contain all my thumbnails, I made a vertical scrollbar. The scrollbar works just fine. The problem is when the thumbnail is moved, the rollover that would be moves in relation to it.how can I absolutely make sure that any rollover I create with a button is where I want it to be, no matter where the thumbnail moves to?

I have used code in the "Complex Button RollOut/RollOver Effects" tutorial for a menu in my media, but after trying and trying I can't make the button stop on last size when I click it, and the then make it play again when click it a second time.

I was following the tutorial for the RollOver/RollOut effects button...and I came into a snag. Everything worked great...with exception for a little bit that I wanted to change.
I wanted the rollover/rollout effect but have multiple buttons with different links. In this tutorial, you can only go to one URL. I was interested in using the rollover/rollout feature as part of a dropdown menu in flash. [URL].Is there any way to take the following line of code and play with the instance names?

Okay, now things are getting a little complicated. I need to build a Flash object that can sit over the corner of an image to serve extra content. It's way beyond my Flash skill level, my work is usually limited to print work in Photoshop and Illustrator so please excuse me if any of the following isn't clear. I am trying to learn though, So this is how it's all supposed to work, along with my issues; When the image & Flash item load a small looping animation will play to draw the eye/show the item as interactive.
When the user rolls over this the corner will peelback. I have a working peelback animation for the rollover, that reacts to mouse over/mouse off, and a looping animation for the initial, but I cannot work out how to make the initial loop until mouseover, then play the peelback when the mouse is over. And go back to the initial animation loop if the user rolls off. (Each of these animations is stored as a movie clip in the Library)
Then it gets more complicated... if the user stays on the corner until it is fully peeled back I need to make a small countdown (sort of a 3, 2, 1 situation) show, before launching a lightbox (would this have to be jQuery, or could it be done in Flash?) in the browser to serve the content.

Currently I have retangular jpegs that are converted to linked buttons. The reason I made these buttons as jpegs is b/c I wanted to use this really cool font that most computers wouldn't readily have. Its working just fine but I wish to have a underline effect when the mouse is rolled over. I looked under the properties of the button but it does not have that option...is it possible to do that in the timeline?
Should I replace that non-underlined button with a jpeg that's been underlined when the keyframe is in the over position? I am using both dreamweaver and flash for the first time; all my content is a single flash swf file inside a box that is centered in the page in dreamweaver.

I am making a Flash ad for my company. I am a beginner/intermediate Flash user. I need to add a clickTag, which is done. The issue is that I want the button to "shimmer" when it is rolled over. I cannot figure out how to make this work with the clickTag having to be the topmost layer in the file.

When you roll over the button it looks great, yet as soon as your mouse goes off the hit area, it just suddenly shoots straight back to frame 1 of the movie clip , is there any way to animate a scene once the mouse has gone off the button, so it looks smooth when rolling over and when rolling off?
View 1 RepliesI have created one static movieclip and in that movieclip i have created "i" dynamic movieclips.On the dynamically created movieclip i am loading swf(Swf consists of a Preloader and then image appears).All these swf values and link(url) values i get by parsing an xml string in the FLA itself...Now the problem starts here...There are links on these dynamically loaded swf's....And I have given static rollover effect on the swf by making image as a button..Now what happens is that i have written onRelease Function in code and in that i m getting link on images(SWF) using getURL in on EnterFrame function and i am not gettin the rollover effects that i have created in static.

THis is all working fine however I need to update the script to change the thumbnail gallery layout from a 3 column 2 row gallery to a 4column 4 row gallery.I've adjusted the as and resized the thumbnails to allow for this and setup a 8px spacer between thumbs

View 3 Repliesi'm using a modified version of the xml thumbnail tutorial on this site and am having a weird problem. sometime on some machines the thumbnails are desplayed in reverse order but when the page is refreshed they're dispalyed in the correct order. on other machines they load in in the correct order fine. anyone have any ideas why this would happen? the image names are loaded into an arrayin the onload of the xml the thumb images are put into an array:

Ok so i have looked thru the forums for the past two days trying to solve my issue and i didnt find anything that works. I have the xml thumbnail gallery from the site working here.Its the base code except i change some things so that it would work if i loaded with the mxloader component into another movie. When i try and do so the XML file doesnt load. you can see this here. Im not sure if theres something else that i need to do to make this work or what, but i cant seem to figure it out. all the paths are absolute paths (http://ect...). and even stranger is that it worked like 3 or 4 times when i first started then stopped working. so i dont know if its
