ActionScript 3.0 :: Thumbnail Rollover - Transparent Black Box To Appear With Link
Sep 3, 2009
I have an array of thumbnails loaded on to my stage from an XML file. How can I create a rollover effect using as3 so when the user rolls over a thumbnail a transparent black box appears over it with a link in it?
I am using ColorMatixFilter on an Image in Flex. I am really close to getting want I need out of the filter.Basically any PNG file the user uploads I want all pixels that are not transparent to be colored black. I have a function that sets the "brightness" already so I just through a really large negative number at it like -1000 and it does the job but the problem is any pixels that have any alpha to them, say 0.9 or below all end up being white when I encode my PNG file on the server later.
[Code]...
I would like all pixels to be solid black unless the pixel is completely transparent and not sure how to tweak the values to get that out of it.
I am copying an image using BitmapData. How do I stop black content in the picture appearing as transparent.I need transparency for the next stage of the transformation.
ActionScript Code: import flash.display.BitmapData; var mainArr:Array = new Array(150);
I have this buttom that its black, when u rollover it turns red, I want to make it return to black when u stop the rollover, but from red to black....I dont know if I explain myself, man I suck in english, whats a possible AS for this, a simple one. I know there are some threads about this, but can find one
I have got one movieclip that is a square it is 20 x 20 the movieclip changes from black to white when you roll over it and remains white. The problem I have is that I need 3000 of them and putting them in a grid format so the user can create there own black and white mosaic. But when I do it only the newest square added to the stage changes colour i think i have gone down the wrong path and I've hit a dead end.
This is my code (Which im 90% is all wrong): PHP Code: stop(); var sqreArray:Array = new Array(); for (var i:int = numChildren - 0; i >= 3000; i++) { var child:DisplayObject = getChildAt(i); [Code] .....
I have read the tutorial: [URL], and I based my flash file off the code given there. I would like to, instead of letting the thumbnail_mc's scroll when you rollover them, have buttons on either side that scroll (slow when mouseover and fast when pressed) the mc's instead. Here is what I have, which doesn't seem to work:
I've been working on the XML Thumbnail gallery tutorial posted up and I wanted to know if it's possible to make a complex rollover effect on an xml button? For example I would like to make this character { rotated 180 degrees above the button as a person highlights the button. How would I go about that.
I'm tring to create a roll over effect. I have 4 Pictures: Let's Say A B C D. If I roll over A I want the other picture to have a transparent light box on top so it looks like A is the main focus. So if you roll over A the other pictures will turn dark and A will keep its color. I can do this by making A a symbol and then putting a transparent png dark box on top of B C D. That works. What doesn't work is when I go back to the original time frame and make B a button also. When I add the roll over effect, it only does it for that. Let me show you in pictures.
<---- that is the original <---- When I roll over A <---- When I roll over B
The last two are made using two different flash files. I can't put them together in one. If I put them together and roll over on A, It comes out like this.
I'm working on creating a gallery for my portfolio site. I have thumbnails of all my work. I've turned them into button and made it so when you rollover it, a larger preview of it appears with a description of the piece, off to the side in a designated area. Instead of making my stage larger or creating more pages to contain all my thumbnails, I made a vertical scrollbar. The scrollbar works just fine. The problem is when the thumbnail is moved, the rollover that would be moves in relation to it.how can I absolutely make sure that any rollover I create with a button is where I want it to be, no matter where the thumbnail moves to?
I amusing the great Kirupa Flash gallery and have tweaked it so that I only am using the thumbnail scroll box to link to external html or asp pages. The xml file all loads correctly, though when I pass the "link" to the getURL the output is the entire XML "link" node.[code]
Is it possible to convert an image (runtime) in Actionscript 3.0 from black/white to black/*color* ...Does someone know a solution? Matrix? Blending methods maybe? Pixel bender?
If I have static text and I have converted one line within the text to an active email link...can I indicate a subject line also in the Properties, under Options --> Link?
Like: mailto:emailme@emailme.com?subject=My Subject Line Here
Can this be done in that panel? If not, how do I do that?
Also, how can I change this email line to rollover to a different text color on hover, without separating it out as a button graphic?
i took AS from this site which makes RollOver & Roll Out. all i need is to link it to a scene in the flash file and not to an URL as it is now...i tried Goto but it didn't work ? this is the code:
I have the following rollover, release outside effect that I want to be able to link to a web page but no matter what I try I can't seem to get it to work: -
I would like to underline a link in a TextField when the user rolls over it and return it to its normal state on roll out.
Does anyone know of any way to access the rollover event for links displayed as htmlText? Flash player is able to recognize the event, as the cursor is changed to the hand cursor when hovering over a link. However, I have been unable to access this event. I do not want to add a listener for a rollover of the entire TextField, just the link.
I just read this tutorial : [URL]. Got it to work fine, and even added a function to have a click sound play on rollOver. The thing is, I can't change the color of the link text on rollOver.
I need a refresher for Flash CS5. If I have a line of text, and I want to make it an active link, however the only decoration I'd like is for the text to simply change to a different color on hover over state
I have made a image-viewer. I've this AS for the viewer:
Code: import mx.transitions.Tween; import mx.transitions.easing.*; function loadXML(loaded) {[code].....
Now i would like to make a loop for the thumbnails so they don't have a beginning or end(Now when i scroll to the right the thumbnails stop at the last thumbnail, i want it to begin at the first thumb again).I'm also trying to make that the middle thumbnail represents the photo in target_mc.
I am making a gallery, which you can view here:[URL]ok, firstly, when you click a thumbnail, you cannot scroll them until you roll off the click thumbnail, and I'm not sure why. is it just a movieclip thing? or can I put some code in to re-get focus of something? ok, now for the two general questions:
1. When you roll over the thumbs, they go up, sometimes they flick back down though, even though you are rolled over them still. is this just because they are moving?
Im trying to create via xml and a for() loop a thumbnails wiewer and each thumbnail have a simple onrelease function.....but my probleme is that my 'container' movieClip and 'BT' movieClip dont show when I export the movie...also when i trace()them the output is empty. maybe is because they are inside x.onLoad(xml){} function ? At the end of the script you can remove // before the trace() function for ckecking in the output panel. here is my code:
I imported a video into flash and have a transparent photoshop layer to create an iPod skin. The video works fine, but I cannot get the "stage" to be transparent so that you do not see the flash background color behind the iPod skin.
I've read in the forums and have followed the instructions here from Adobe. If you look at my code, I have
I am creating a map in flash cs4 with all the countries on it. I used photoshop for creating the map and separated countries. Now I imported all pngs in Flash and I want to give Mouse CLICK event and Mouse Hover on all pngs, but as the transparent pixels are overlapping the other states, it is getting difficult. So, I converted all pngs in movieclips and now then I broke up pngs. Now I want to delete all pixels having alpha 0 using eraser tool, as per the borders. And I have to do it manually for individual countries. So is there a way to remove transparent pixels from the bitmap data?
I have two png's that kind of look like paint brush strokes. they have some transparency in them that lets the stage colour bleed through a bit.
I am adding two of these images to the stage in AS 3. One adds quite fine - looks as expected. The second one however doesn't have any transparency other than around its edges. What i mean is it looks more like GIF than a PNG. Rough around the edges, no transparency "inside" the image itself (where there should be)
i have tried re-creating the image (yes it IS a PNG) which did nothing. I ensured the library item is not being treated as a JPEG. I also even tried externally calling the PNG to see if that made a difference. Unfortunately it did not.
why this second PNG doesn't seem to have a transparency set?
Yes, I'm making a photo gallery like everyone else. I'm making it so people can order pics from the site. There are going to be about 500 photos per album in 5 different categories. The photos can be shrunk down to about 60kb a piece. If I use the actual pictures as thumbnails, just scaled down, the total size of all the pics will be about 30mb. I know this is a lot.
Either way, the people looking at the album will most likely look at nearly all the pics so they will be using up bandwidth either way. Plus, if I use the actual pics as thumbs the user will not have to wait to see actual pic when it's clicked on because it's already loaded. A preloader is annoying to me. I do realize a preloader would be wise when loading the thumbs. Just dislike them after you click one for the big picture.
So is using shrunken thumbs a necessity or if the big pic is under a certain size it shouldn't matter if I use it for a thumb also?
The script for my timer worked for one button but as soon as I set up the other 2 buttons to do the same, I started having a problem where the rollover action would go after the set amount of time was up but then would repeat itself once after the set amount of time was up again. just to clarify, if it needs it, the reason I don't have a rollout attached to these buttons is because I want the menu to stay out until you leave the menu area
so I have an invisible button called menuin_btn which sits to the right of the menu and covers the rest of the stage where the content will be, so you have to rollover that area for the menu to roll back in. The "rollin" in my code brings the movie clip to frame 16 (the end) where I have a gotoAndStop(1); command to get it back to frame 1 so the rollover can be used again. I've attached a zip with my current flash file and swf and here is what my current script looks like on the main scene:
I am making a ball move from left to right and back. but when I rollover twice quickly, it also accepts the second rollover command. I would like it to accept that second rollover only when the first one is finished. I mean, I want the first to be finished before it accepts another rollover.I know it is simple to solve this with a tween using frames instead of as, but I was wondering if someone knows how to adapt the script.
