If I have static text and I have converted one line within the text to an active email link...can I indicate a subject line also in the Properties, under Options --> Link?
Like: mailto:emailme@emailme.com?subject=My Subject Line Here
Can this be done in that panel? If not, how do I do that?
Also, how can I change this email line to rollover to a different text color on hover, without separating it out as a button graphic?
I just read this tutorial : [URL]. Got it to work fine, and even added a function to have a click sound play on rollOver. The thing is, I can't change the color of the link text on rollOver.

I wanted to make my My text tween to a different color upon rollover. I *think* i understand the code I should use to do this, but I'm stuck on what to call the class... I was going to set it up like this...

So as you can see I'm not sure what i would put in the quotes to affect color, or what values I would use?
I have a scrolling dynamic text box that has a list of links in it. They all have a different link added for each line in the list but I have been asked to make them change colour on rollover. Normally I would just create a button and rollover but I can't as the text is scrolling. Is there a way of adding AS2 or even css that means I can make each link change colour on RollOver?

Instead of creating a button and nesting movie clips for each state, I'm trying to script an animated button of a square (no fill) where on rollover the stroke color changes from one color to another (tweening the tint). I want to do this to the button symbol so it's the same for all instances. Is this possible or do I have to go the button > nested MC route? Sorry if this is lame...it's been awhile since I've used Flash and I've forgotten quite a bit.
View 7 RepliesI want to have a button with a rollover state that is different that the out state. I got that part, but I also want to keep the rollover state active if clicked. I can think of a couple ways to do it but I'm certain there is an easier way to do it. I have about 8 buttons and when I click on on I want that to stay in the rollover state, then when I click on another one I want the first to go back to the out state and the new one that I clicked to go to the over state and stay there.

View 3 Repliesif there is a way to make a linked object deactivate if another object appears above it in my swf file. Basically when mousing over the a image that covers the link object, the hot spot still works which give the impression that the image that is showing above it has a link. Btw I already know how to place the overlaying image on another timeline of which the linked object is not on, but that is not what I am looking for in this case, I actually need the linked object to remain on the same timeline as the overlay images.

I have a slideshow where you can click a button and it will bring you to a specific frame with an image on it. How can I code it so that the clicked button that represents the 'current' slide changes color until another button is clicked? When the other button is clicked, it will take on the 'current' color I bet this has been asked before, but I've only found responses for AS2.
View 3 RepliesThe original flash has a publish setting to Flash Player 5, and I have to have the publish setting set to Flash Player 8 (actionscript 2). The original flash works with the Flash Player 5 setting however when I change it the rollover text to picture stops working.

I'm having a little trouble using URL links in text. If I select a part of the text and give it a URL link (I'm using mailto: links here), strange things are happening to all the text in that text box at runtime in some cases the leading changes, other times some or all of the text disappears. But it only happens at runtime, so I have no way of knowing if or how to compensate. And simply removing the offending link or linked text doesn't fix the problem once the link has been created the only way to fix it is to create a new text box with no links.

Overview I have four buttons on the main stage (info) (help) (bio) (main) When you Rollover a button it fades to another color/when you rollout it fades back to the original color I have a script that does the color change because I do not want to use motion tweens. Here is what I did I made a 2 frame MC named infoMC In the 1st frame of the MC I made the word (info) a nested MC and attached the color change code to it. I'm using CS5 actionscript 2. I would like to create hovering text when one mouses over an item in the navigation window (please see pic). You know, something that would act like a brief abstract to give the user more info re: whether or not they need to click on that link.At present, the nav_mc is linked to an xml doc FYI (the nav_mc accordians in and out, but doesn't have to). I input what I want the menu and submenu to say in the xml nodes and it shows up. It would be cool if the hover text added could also be xml driven tooI am green to this so the more detail the better. Do I need to create a new xml doc? new .swf? How do I link this? Should I use Flash Builder or Catalyst?
