The original flash has a publish setting to Flash Player 5, and I have to have the publish setting set to Flash Player 8 (actionscript 2). The original flash works with the Flash Player 5 setting however when I change it the rollover text to picture stops working.

You know, something that would act like a brief abstract to give the user more info re: whether or not they need to click on that link.At present, the nav_mc is linked to an xml doc FYI (the nav_mc accordians in and out, but doesn't have to). I input what I want the menu and submenu to say in the xml nodes and it shows up. It would be cool if the hover text added could also be xml driven tooI am green to this so the more detail the better. Do I need to create a new xml doc? new .swf? How do I link this? Should I use Flash Builder or Catalyst?

View 1 RepliesI have this problem with text set to bitmap text rendering. With fonts like pixel fonts like standard 07_51, Kroeger etc. I can't get them to show the right accents. This shows on stage and in runtime and it occurs with static, dynamic fields and input fields. When I choose anti-aliasing then it's ok, but that isn't the purpose with those pixel fonts, right? I've set the correct font-embedding settings.
I checked it on two computers with Flash CS4 v10 on MacOS X 10.6.2, Belgian Keyboard, FontExplorer Pro for font management.
I am learning flash and recently bought a flash template so I could see how it was structured etc. The vertical menu on the flash template plays fine when ran locally but when I upload it to the web the text on the vertical menu doesnt all show (i.e. the text is half cut off).

View 1 RepliesWhile I'm just a beginner right now it/I'm an experienced computer user and I have really enjoyed/but when I'm looking at it now I'm trying to use flash to edit a website template, for example monster templates. I bought a template from the site and nine trying to edit it now and well it just seems like it's a very very long process to do something kind of where I just want to look at the page and I want to edit the text and only I go to bed doesn't seem to be the case. So I'll show you what I mean.
When I'm using the program and I'm in Adobe flash I'm looking now at the screen inside the program and there's no text I see the graphics images and there's no text and also is that some type of way where it's easy to navigate link to link where I can just edit the text what supposed to be in there rather than search for the funeral push page up and down until I come across just a white background with tax and then have to edited which is pretty confusing because I don't know where that's located but I the general idea that if you change it but surely there must be an easier way.
So basically I'm including a screenshot that shows you exactly what I'm talking about. Basically once again I'm in fashion items Sandy text so it's kinda hard to see what was going on or whatever so you can see the snow text located in the thing but however when I publish the file yeah you can see the text and everything I'm kinda looking for some type of you well be able to see this and just edited really. I know there are other programs out there like SWF edited her or quick note to some like that. But I really wanted to use flash, unexperienced Photoshop user and I really love all Adobe products and I really think that this is the master program to use however I'm really don't want it as of right now it's been about 40 days and nine still a bit lost navigating through the program will I'm just really just China entities tax bills and just go through the site. Now I realize I should have the respect for beautiful program like this and it's not been a be set up to the way that I'm hoping it Siskind be a point-and-click editor I understand that. I'm just wondering if anybody has any type suggestions or perhaps of I'm missing something which is fantastic.
I got this movieclip. With actionscript I attached a new movieclip to this one, as a popup menu, which will show on rollover. Inside this movieclip, it automatically makes textfields, as menu options (information I receive from a XML document). The problem is, that I cannot get it to respond on a onRelease function on those text fields, and I do not know why.

I tried to make a onRelease on one of the links, but it just wont work probably.
I have made a bitmap image into a rollover button - reason - so that when the mouse rolls over the hit area of the button/image/thumbnail - it becomes larger on the stage and when the mouse moves outside the paramaters of the larger picture it goes back down to the original button/image/thumbnail size.That works fine.However . . . there is always a however. When I implemented the same functions to the other thumbnails on the stage - if I rollover the second thumbnail- the other thumbnails show up (through) on top of that enlarged image.

I started using AS3. At the moment I'm working on a project with (small) image galleries. When you roll over a small image, there's a larger version showing up, and the thumb changes also. You can also click the image, and then a lightbox effect pops up. To achieve this, I'm using the following script, which works fine:

I'm having two problems. First of all, the gallery loads all pictures at once. The more pictures in the XML file, the slower they all load. Secondly, I wanted the pictures to scroll in its _y coordinate, similar to Sugar Rhyme's website portfolio (see url]...).

This is what they want me to do: Show am image of a postcard that we sell, then have it morph into a poster (much larger) with a customizable area highlighted. I have learned how to put the postcard image on the stage and motion tween it to a larger version of itself, but I need that larger version to actually be a different image. View 7 RepliesI want to basiclly create a spot the differance game but instead of the user being able to just click on side of the pictures to get the answer, i want them to click on one picture and than the other picture to get the answer. So basiclly they have to click on the picture on the left and than on the right to mark something as a answer which would link both pictures. Or another example, is linking two tables. If i had two tables up and the objective was for the user to link one line of the table to another on the other table, it would link and draw a link from one side to the other showing the link.

There are 9 movie clips in each square (object) and the color in each movie clip can be changed by mouse click. However, if I want to magnify one of the squares by clicking on that, then I can click on each movie clips to change the color. How can I do it?? Can I create another movie clip and cover the square for clicking to magnify?
