However, I do not want any label, folder, disclosure icon nor icon. I want to dispaly every node of the tree with my own graphic like eg: a line, round image etc.,
I bought a flash site template that loads xml driven swfs inside the main swf as different menu items are clicked. The modules that come with the template work fine, but I don't know how to add a third party xml driven swf, so that it shows up properly. While the third party swf works fine as a standalone, the embedded version loads just an empty movie.
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to make a Flex Tree Component display the children of a sprite in a hierarchical way. Moreover, dragging the items on the FlexTree would resort and reparent the items. I have special Elements set as Folders. This would allow other elements to be added there as a children by dragging an element on the tree and dropping it there. I have a failed attempt which works, but breaks when I try to add folders. Basically, it fails at reparenting the items by dragging and resorting folders and that Does anyone know of a component or something which can do this, has anyone have created any of this or could anyone give me a clue?

View 1 RepliesI have a intro to a picture of a tree which has buttons on it. The intro is an embedded flv video (not using the FLV component). The video starts on frame one and runs to frame 2. The tree is on frame 3.When I click a button on the tree, it runs the respective frames then returns to the tree. When the tree appears, the sound of the video is playing in the background.How can I make this stop?

Frame 3 just includes all the mouse clicks for the tree.
I am looking for a non XML driven Flash banner rotator, something where I can load my images into the FLA and publish. The only rotators I can seem to find have external XML/image files, etc. All I want to do is create simple SWF's that I can use to display rotating images preferably is a smooth and stylish manner. Does anyone know of any, or could point me in the right direction?

I'm so proud of myself! But now it looks like you can't dynamically generate accessilbe resources. I'm being asked for the alt.text equivalent of various text boxes, while the actual content of each box depends on multiple factors.
View 1 RepliesIm currently working on a system whereby a user can fill in text fileds within a PDF form, submit the data as XML and this is picked up by the Actionscript in a .SWF file thus allowing end user customisation without the need to edit the actual Flash files.I have all this working fine so far however im stuck at a particular part.I want to have radio buttons (or something similar) on each page of the PDF where the user can select if the page has to be output in the .SWF file or not. Ive tried creating the actionscript part for this however im completely lost. The XML from the PDF i can manage no probs but the actionscript part is stumping me.

View 3 RepliesI've been hunting for tutorials on XML driven AS3 menus. I've found some really cool stuff, but nothing that does what I want, and most don't really explain the "hows' involved in getting the XML into the flash. I want to dynamically load menu buttons based upon an xml document in horizontal fashion with sub menus that load 10px down and to the right of the main menu button. With each item in the sub menu filing to the right. I'd also like to have that light up bar track the main buttons so that as the mouse moves over the bar slides to it.

View 4 RepliesI am trying to find a way to render a Flash object, more specifically a Open Flash Chart, in the server, and save a screenshot of it to a temp file to embed it in on a PDF report.
I've found some solutions that use Javascript to generate a temp file in the browser, and then send it to the server (like here). However I need to generate reports automatically and send them as e-mail attachments, so I cannot render it using a browser.

I've recently been working on some bigger projects in Flash and would really like to be able to use Test Driven Development but haven't found a great way to do so. I'd imagine its a bit harder to do in flash as most of its projects require heavy user interactivity (drag and drop with mouse, keyboard input to move etc...).

I guess this is simply accomplished by seeking through the video using the mousemovements as offset.What i would like to know is, how are videos like this encoded ? How big is the video behind a site like this ? Is the HD content streamed from the server ? What compression would you recommend for similar quality ? Do you guys know a tutorial/article that deals with constructing "video driven" websites like the one above ?

I am trying to render an image with text and images that are on a .swf file. What i am doing is saving all the objects and their properties in an XML and then using imagemagick to render all that. the problem i am facing is that imagemagick treats fonts very different than Flash, so i don't get a perfect copy of what i see in the flash to what i see on the rendered image.

Here's my problem: I have a few display objects that are modified by a loop, and I would like flash to render exactly one frame at the end of each loop. Duration of a loop may vary unpredictably, thus a constant frame-rate won't do it.
I found a hack-ish way to render one frame at the end of each loop, using updateAfterEvent with a 0ms timer. Now I want to prevent Flash from rendering frames in the middle of the loop: this is a waste of time and ressources, and produces strange blinking effects. Setting the frame rate to 0 would be an easy solution, but stage.frameRate has a minimum value of 0.01.
Question 1: Is there a way to properly stop the standard rendering loop? A workaround will not be regarded as a valid answer, because what I'm currently doing is a pretty good workaround (1 frame every 100 seconds is bearable). Question 2: Is there a better way than updateAfterEvent to force rendering?
Has anyone ever encountered this weird, unique error I am gettingWhen I export my program to a SWF all the imported PNGs with alpha transparency (ie; soft edges) render totally wrong - no transparency, very blocky and pixelated. See the attached image for an example;this is out of the blue. Has exported fine recently.
View 1 RepliesI want to use small icons to play videos from within an HTML (CSS-styled) text field in AS3. I placed the image after the text, as you normally would. But it keeps getting bumped down to the next line. I'm worried that this is just another part of Flash's busted HTML rendering.

I'm making a simple RSS reader in flash. I test the swf in Flash, it works perfectly. I publish the swf with html through Flash, and it works perfectly. However, when I incorporate the swf into a web site that I am currently developing, using swfobj 2.0 (dynamic) procedures (followed both by google code and lee's video tutorial on using swfobj 2.0), the html rendering does not work. I've tried copying the html code that comes from the Flash-published html, and paste that into the website I'm developing, but that straight out just doesnt work. I'm going to attach the AS3 code here. I pull the RSS xml info into flash, do a bit of string analysis to replace inactive links with active and cut out another snippet of the string, apply a style using an external css, and finally render as html.
