ActionScript 2.0 :: Yahoo Maps Text Not Showing

My problem occurrs when I change the yahoo written example:

Ive taken out the EventListener as it never picked up onInitMap() and displayed the map without it, maybe this is where the problem is? It even recognises the text if you put lots of text into the description, as in it make the bubble alot wider but just doesn't show the actual text.

In the past week it appears that Yahoo has changed their crossdomain file to only accept Yahoo domains [URL]This is causing my applications that use Yahoo Maps to stop working (i.e. security exception). I cannot proxy the calls to Yahoo because the URL is embedded in the MXP file that Yahoo distributes.

I am changing over one of my projects from google maps to yahoo maps and was wondering who out there has experience with the yahoo maps api. Below you will see the code i was using with the google maps api to create custom markers using a library item as that marker. The library asset has some variables that need to be defined as you will see in the first part of my for loop. and this function needs to clear all the previously created overlays, before the for loop is run.

I have a simple Map and geocoding sample in Flash using CS4.The problem is simple - I can retrieve a short list from the google search api, but when I try to generate the icons on the map using a loop, only the last icon is displayed. (ignore the house icon, it is generated earlier)
I feel I am missing something or made a stupid AS3 mistake (like treating it as if it was c#) - or even a stupid wood-for-the-trees mistake. The problem is in the last line of the code

I have created a site for my relative's garden. They have already registered there location and info with google maps and I have already installed the api in the site. I also, already have the map located on their location with an pin over it, but I was trying to figure out how to make the map pull the information that pops up when you click that pin. i am trying to make my text appear wavy using displacement maps. i've attached the file. Please check it out and tell me how to do the following three things with it:
i need to ensure that the text doesnt get cut at the top when it goes out of bounds.i need to create a gradient with more variations. that is, right now its going from 0x000080 to 0x0000FF to 0x000080. so i need to make it go like: 0x000080 - 0x0000FF - 0x000080 - 0x0000FF - 0x000080.i need to be able to vary the size of the gradient box so that it perfectly fits the movieclip that i apply it tohow do i do it? could anyone please make those changes and attach the file back? or just tell me how to do it?

I creating a flash app that loads a RSS of a plublic map with a custom route path and draws lines from the coordinates on a Away3D Sphere.It works preety well when I'm testing locally, but when I publish online, the app can't load the RSS. I think Google Maps disable access from other domains.Does anyone knows another way to access this map RSS directly from google? Now to fix this, I'm hosting the RSS.

I have a simple Google Maps API with external data loaded from XML file (location, lat, long, info etc.). I also have a custom marker as a MovieClip (marker_mc), which works fine, but I want to add a Dynamic Text Field (label_txt) to this MovieClip and load a simple data (<label>) to it from same XML file (distribubtion.xml), so as a result every location would have it's own label on the marker.I know how flash loads XML data, but what I don't know is how to include that in Google Maps API (if it's even possible).

I'm able to format and display the text within my swf, however once its uploaded to the internet - the text either won't show up, or the flash player shows a security error "flash player is trying to communicate withI've tried to feed the data through to my own domain, but I'm not sure how to program for it. I've found php examples online, but I'm not sure how to implement them either. I need the stock quote price to display and update either once a day, or only when the swf loads. Currently I'm using the following code to retrieve the data (within flash):

I've been trying to build some GUI for a level editor using Yahoo's ASTRA Flash Components using the FlashDevelop IDE. After finally including all the "Global Classpaths", I managed to almost get it to compile apart from one Warning that causes the build to fail.

The title & copyright text of my animation don't show up in the swf unless I break up the words to letters then to shapes. (This also occurs for the feedback of one of my games.) It's a 2.5 minute animation which puts my computer to the limits so that may be the problem. Obviously I'd rather not convert this text to shapes for size & flexibility reasons.

I am trying to make a flash widget using yahoo weather API. Since it uses RSS I thought it was simples but I am stuck. I just don't know how to extract info inside this xml line:

I just made these quick flash banners for a client but he's saying that the text isn't showing up for him.I have the banners hosted here - http:[url]...........And any idea why it wouldn't be showing up for him? I'm assuming he's running on an outdated version of Flash but I know if that's the case he's going to worry about other people being on the same outdated version he's on and they won't be able to see the text.

I have one api to call and it is an XML file. I got the values from XML and stored in an Array. I need to show the result in a text box that is already created in the stage. But it is not displaying there. I am calling the API from my document class. From there, I created a class for load XML and store the values to an array. from there, I call anoter class to show the result in the stage. that class is linked with the movieclip created. I can trace all the vlues including the value assigned to the text box. but it is not showing to the stage.

I've been trying to get a Flash-based form working - and it's 90% there. I even figured out a refresh issue with a list, and that worked perfectly. Fast foward to the final frame. I'm ready to collect all the data from the form and send it when the user clicks "Done". At current, this frame has no real defined code. The only thing on it is the standard "stop();" to prevent the movieclip from going back to the first frame.The only thing that will be displayed on the final frame is a picture and some text. This is...where everything falls apart. I created the text field, named it properly, then wrote "myField.text = "blahblah";" in the main frame. I then ran a movie test. Everything works great ... until the last frame. No text. Tried to embed.. that didn't help.. tried using the textfield variable... nothing there either. For some inexplicable reason, the final frame in my movie refuses to display anything at all except what's on the stage.

I'm trying to use the Astra library from Yahoo but I'm getting an error saying the base class BaseScrollPane is not found. It appears to be imported from fl.containers.BaseScrollPane, which leads me to believe it should be a part of the base flash 10 library and therefore should be available, but it appears to be missing. Is this part of a separate package from somewhere?
Update: For what it's worth, I found the actual class files in the Configuration/Component Source folder on my hard drive, but adding that to the class path (as well as the Components directory) did no good. I ended up fixing the issue by dragging a scroll pane component to the stage from the Components window and then deleting it, but I'm not sure what exactly that action changed that made it work, and would like to know for future reference.

import email addresses, like it does on facebook where you can import your address book from yahoo / hotmail / gmail address books then you just select the appropriate email and the email is sent to them. I can figure out how to do the send to multiple emails via php but how would I import the address book?
