Dec 14, 2011I'm able to format and display the text within my swf, however once its uploaded to the internet - the text either won't show up, or the flash player shows a security error "flash player is trying to communicate withI've tried to feed the data through to my own domain, but I'm not sure how to program for it. I've found php examples online, but I'm not sure how to implement them either. I need the stock quote price to display and update either once a day, or only when the swf loads. Currently I'm using the following code to retrieve the data (within flash):

Flash :: Yahoo Astra Component Error BaseScrollPane Not Found?
Jan 8, 2010I'm trying to use the Astra library from Yahoo but I'm getting an error saying the base class BaseScrollPane is not found. It appears to be imported from fl.containers.BaseScrollPane, which leads me to believe it should be a part of the base flash 10 library and therefore should be available, but it appears to be missing. Is this part of a separate package from somewhere?
Update: For what it's worth, I found the actual class files in the Configuration/Component Source folder on my hard drive, but adding that to the class path (as well as the Components directory) did no good. I ended up fixing the issue by dragging a scroll pane component to the stage from the Components window and then deleting it, but I'm not sure what exactly that action changed that made it work, and would like to know for future reference.

Professional :: Yahoo Webplayer Continuously "buffering" And Never Plays Local Files
Feb 12, 2012I installed the yahoo webplayer to play mp3's on the html page. Works fine on the net. Playing local files, it is continuously buffereing and doesn't play. In DW live view, the css box in the right hand corner flashes as the flash screen operates. The flash screen moves at half speed. I have loaded a swf file into my flex application using SWFLoader as below<mx:SWFLoader id="s1" source="dummy.swf" /> This SWF is created using Macromedia Flash 8 instead of Flex. I want to control this externally loaded swf.I am exposing an interface created to control this swf! What i am doing is using System Manager class as follows: public var mySWF:SystemManager;private function initApp():void {mySWF = SystemManager(myLoader.content);} However i am getting the following error: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.display::AVM1Movie@206ed41 to mx.managers.SystemManager.

Ive taken out the EventListener as it never picked up onInitMap() and displayed the map without it, maybe this is where the problem is? It even recognises the text if you put lots of text into the description, as in it make the bubble alot wider but just doesn't show the actual text.

Apr 28, 2011I've been trying to build some GUI for a level editor using Yahoo's ASTRA Flash Components using the FlashDevelop IDE. After finally including all the "Global Classpaths", I managed to almost get it to compile apart from one Warning that causes the build to fail.

Feb 28, 2010Starting new thread for this topic as suggested by forum. I have a website which tweens movieclip pages (named home, bio, music, video and contact). Love the effect and trying to keep it. Main timeline contains the main buttons (home_btn, bio_btn, music btn, video_btn, contact_btn). Music page has a XML mp3 player contained in it with button control. Video page has an encoded video with no code.
I need the following:
1 - Music and video to shut off as those pages/movieclips tween off the stage. Gets annoying with them playing especially at the same time
2 - Music player to play correctly. It is not with the new code.
I have the following code. The "Tween Code" is on frame 1 of the main timeline of the movie. The "MP3 code" is on frame 1 of the music movie clip. I am getting the following ERROR message when running my movie. I ran the Debugger as I publish and it points to music.my_channel.stop(); in below code. My thought process on this was that it would reach out to the music movieclip, find my_channel and stop it.
