View 4 RepliesBasically all I am trying to do, is place a simple text animation on a separate layer and animate it. Every time I insert the first keyframe on the first character of the text I am animating, it turns the whole document white. When I preview it like this, the white "layer" pulses at the set frame rate I have applied. I have played around with moving the layers and what not and I cant get this problem to go away.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to build a gallery similar to URL... I thought about putting all the images into one movie clip and then using an "onclick x=..." command to move the images forward (client only wants visitors to move forward - don't ask!) BUT there wouldn't be any animation. Is there any simple way to animate the transition or can someone recommend another method?What I want is to be able to click on an image that is showing a little on the stage and have it slide over to show to show itself completely and to be able to see the transition.
View 1 RepliesProblem: I am trying to get a very simple text resize going, for my main content area in a flash website. My aim is to get a button, that on click, increases the text size of a dynamic text field.

This is what I tried, I am very new to Action Script, so excuse the futility of my code.
One small question how you animate (typewrite) a dynamically loaded text?I have this code:
[AS]
var str:String = current_home.text;
var sInt = setInterval (writeIt, 1);
[code]......
How can I make a text animate in a spiral? starting from the center
View 1 RepliesI import a text from a XML into a dynamic text box which is located inside a movieclip, which I animate. But when it animates, the text looks like crap. It jumps around and looks like laggin and shiet.Is it possible to "Break Apart" by AS after I imported the text? Yes I tried "Anti Alias for Animation" and it still looks shiet =/

I want to create a news bulliten in my website. I'm talking about a small 200*200 pixel box, where the user see's news coming from down to up. Of cours i can use a primitive way editing the flash file whenever News are fed but i want to do this just by editing a text file which will contain the news and the flesh box will automaticly take the text and animate it.
View 2 RepliesI am struggling to find a way to animate a fill of text in Flash CS4. The concept I am looking for is that over a time period have the color rise from the bottom to the top. My initial attempt was to have 2 objects, one filled with the color and the other filled with white. I was hoping to just adjust the borders of the object or text to have it disappear, but that just reshapes the object, not cropping it. If you know how to crop into objects and reveal the object beneath, let me know.
I am very new to Flash so hopefully it is a simple answer, but I am not seeing it yet.
I found some code to dynamically load images from an xml file and animate as a slideshow/movie. However, I need to do the same for text. I have created the animation for text in a movie clip, but now I need to dyanmically load text from either an xml or txt file, drop a phrase into the movie clip and animate over the photos every few seconds. (There will be about 10 sections of text to animate throughout the movie).
View 1 RepliesI am trying to animate a movie clip that has a dynamic text box in it using the tween class but I can't get it to work. I thought that if yr text box was inside a movieclip then tweening was possible. I've attached the fla so you can have a look.
View 2 Repliesi am trying to get some texts from an XML file onto a text field and animate it.I am able to get the texts on to the text field but unable to animate it.I believe I have to convert it to a symbol in order to achieve this job.But,I don't know how to do that using Actionscript.
View 10 Replies how to loop this motion.I have added some action script to horizontally animate a strip of text... now I need that to loop so it's continuous.this is my code
countries_mc.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, fl_AnimateHorizontally);
function fl_AnimateHorizontally(event:Event)
{[code]....
I decided that this was okay but I wanted to change it so text/staff etc.would update dynamically from a text file. Got this working and moved on to simple alpha tween animation.I have several dynamic buttons that fade onto the stage perfectly. When the user selects a button a variable is loaded which updates the adjacent dynamic text box (within a MC). However, if I try to tween this text box, it goes to full alpha if I place stop() in the last keyframe.If I remove stop() it will loop and display correctly.
View 5 RepliesIs it possable to animate the letter spacing in dynamic text fields
View 1 RepliesI have designed a logo and want to animate the swirly lines from the text outwards following their individual paths.
View 1 RepliesJust actionscript? [URL] i use tweener to animate blocks of text created dynamically but like that, on Browse effect database, take a look on Scatterbounce. just so cool! just actionscript???
View 2 Repliesany good tutorial in which visitors can type a simple text in a text field for example, and that text while writing is automatically applied on the background image. And if they want,they can save it on their computer.
View 5 RepliesI am using this tutorial and when I hit the play button the masking tween looks perfect on the stage.When I publish or use test movie however the gradient underlay shows up on top of the text.
View 7 RepliesI've done this dozens of time before but for some reason any new dynamic text boxes I make will not properly render the HTML in them even with the HTML control turned on.
I'm using CS3 with Actionscript 3, targeting player 9. I've tried AS 2, and different players all to no avail. I've tried embedding fonts, and not embedding fonts with no change in behavior noticed. I do want to use AS 3 (and wrote a bunch of code for it in a different file already), but even in a new empty file I'm still seeing this behavior.
I've made a real simple (one line!) file with a text box to demonstrate.
I've been working on this for an hour -Googled it - etc. Still can't do something simple.
I have created text on the stage, then converted it to a button. I want it to return to the first frame, so I added this to the button:
Code:
on(release) {
gotoAndPlay(1);
}

After 2 days of trying, I was finally able to make a simple scrolling text with the up and down arrows. It is functioning fine, but it scrolls line by line which is kind of cumbersome. I want it to scroll smoothly until the mouse is released. May be some scripting. But I am almost at 0 point when it comes to action scripts.
View 4 RepliesI am getting familiar with the Flash animations I am trying to make a simple animation within the text input area i.e.
1.FAN BASE
2.FA NBASE
What I want is the letter N to move slowly towards letter B.I have done motion tweening but it doesn't work -either the whole text is moving left right or the letter N is simply skipping to the second position without smooth animation.( there's no error on motion tween by the way)
Been away from Flash for a while and struggling to relearn. Also been working more with AS3, but I am working on something that was designed using AS2(not by me).I have a dynamic text box populated by an external xml file. Works fine, however I am having hassles getting it to scroll. I only want buttons, and not a drag bar. Tried several methods I found around the forums but nothing seems to work for me.iam.theData.textBodybuttons are btn_up and btn_dwn. Both are located inside the ima clip.
View 0 RepliesI want to create simple text buttons like hyperlinks.
I used the TextField class, but I am not so font of this and don't need all this CSS styling.
I've been trying to create a simple text animation using XML and AS3 that I would like to run similar to the swf I've attached with this post. I've tried to look for tutorials similar to this that I can follow but I haven't found anything yet.I can get the xml to load up but I haven't been able to get the name to animate separately. The xml is structured like so.[code]
View 2 RepliesI am trying to have a simple swf with a static background image that will have phrases at random locatoin slowly fade in, stay for a few seconds,and then fade out. Then the next phrase, and the next one,and then next one,until it loops arround again. The phrases are coming from a database,and I have already created my asp code to give me a page with &phrase=phrase1,phrase2,phrase3,...&status=1&. My fla file has two layers--one for the background and the other for a movie clip wich contains a dynamic text field. My first frame loads my variables, and my second frame looks to see if status equals 1 (the last variable being loaded). If status is not equal 1, I send the head back to frame 1, otherwise I split the phrases into an array, get the height and width of the swf, and init a count var to 0.
Code:
//Look for a way to test the number of times the loop back to frame 1
//has been doen so that we can set a time out. Additionally, maybe put
//logic in the system to test for a blank services?
if (_root.status == 1) {
[code]....
However, many parts of that code does not work. I broke the math stuff up so that I could see the values in debug. Anyhow, Text_Width and Text_Height are undefined, which causes Text_X and Text_Y to be calculated for positions that may put the text off screen?
