I need several buttons to be within the one mc, having an action (zoom + scale) apply to all of them together.But each button should trigger a second mc that is not within the first mc. (because the second mc should be scaled and zoomed along with the first mc.)So: button placed within mc. What action script to assign to the button to trigger an event not within the mc. ?

Unfortunately this is all in AS2, so I'm having trouble figuring out the correct way to go about doing this. function is called startFlip, and I need it to be enabled at 30 seconds instead of an on press function from the page button I originally had.

View 1 RepliesI have a movie clip button with a dynamic text field inside. I am loading the mc dynamically to the stage. In Full_Screen mode static buttons including the full screen button work without a problem, but the dynamic button event does not trigger when clicked. In this simplified code belwo the dynamic button when clicked should change its message to "You have clicked button 1". This works in normal mode, but not in Full screen.I tried btn_cuePt_1.enabled= true; but without success.
Does it have something to do with not using the fullscreen events?

Structure of my button is: Think of it as three layers inside a movie_clip. I used an empty button on the top layer so I would get a pointer cursor, I used a dynamic textfield the one that should change after the event to "You have clicked button 1", and last but not least the button graphic.

when the menu items are clicked it calls the SWFAddress.setValue( ); which changes the address bar and triggers the event listener: SWFAddress.addEventListener( SWFAddressEvent.CHANGE, swfAddressChange );
this is visible by the textbox in the upper left hand corner, it changes to reflect the value. But when you click the back button, the event SWFAddressEvent.CHANGE is not set off and the result is the textbox staying with the previous value.
as you can see from the html code, the flash Object has an ID, the swfaddress javascript is imported after swfobject. ( using swfobject2.1, swfaddress 2.3 )
I created a button that has a movieclip in the rollover state. When you rollover the mouse, the movieclip will animate to appear as if the button will scale from a small to a large button even though it is the movieclip that is playing and not the button itself. But I also want to add a keyboard code to play the rollover instead of the mouse. I learned to write actionscript to play different scenes with the code below, but I'm not sure if I can play a button rollover with the same code.

So I am trying to essentially have one class dispatch an event into the flow when it is added to the stage, and have another class catch the event, but I'm having problems. I set up a little test to simplify/display the problem I'm having. There are 2 classes, and then just some init code on the timeline.

I'm working on an web app that requires a multiple file uploader and I've hit a dead end. I'm using FileReferenceList for selecting the files to be uploaded, but there seems to be a bug in the Chrome Flash Player plugin, when selecting lots of files at once.The uploader must allow up to 300 files to be uploaded, but when selecting more than 232, the FileReferenceList triggers Event.CANCEL instead of Event.SELECT.I've found a bug report for this exact problem here:[url]......

the word is succesfully generated, only problem is, it deletes all the other text in the text box as well. Is there a way of making a keyboard shortcut which just adds that text on the same row I am on? Otherwise I am also happy to settle for a button which generates this text as long as it does not delete the other text in the text box.

My tweak that I am trying to acoomlish, is to have a custom itemEditor that is a form with two TextInputs and an OK button. For the life of me I can't get that button to trigger the DataGrid's itemEditEnd event where I have some processing before I call destroyItemEditor. I tried dispatching the event myself directly but got a strange error in DataGrid's updateDisplayList saying editedItemPosition was null (editedItemPosition.rowIndex).
