Nov 19, 2010I'm trying to trigger this page turn event without having to click the page. I want it to go based on a timer event, where lets say after 30 seconds it turns the page. Unfortunately this is all in AS2, so I'm having trouble figuring out the correct way to go about doing this. function is called startFlip, and I need it to be enabled at 30 seconds instead of an on press function from the page button I originally had.

mc.onRelease()which will trigger my button event without me actually clicking on it.
I was wondering how can i achieve the same effect in as3?
because i am building a website, and i want the 1st button to trigger itself after it is created on stage.
Unable To Trigger Dynamic Button Event In Full_Screen Mode?
Mar 6, 2009I have a movie clip button with a dynamic text field inside. I am loading the mc dynamically to the stage. In Full_Screen mode static buttons including the full screen button work without a problem, but the dynamic button event does not trigger when clicked. In this simplified code belwo the dynamic button when clicked should change its message to "You have clicked button 1". This works in normal mode, but not in Full screen.I tried btn_cuePt_1.enabled= true; but without success.
Does it have something to do with not using the fullscreen events?

Structure of my button is: Think of it as three layers inside a movie_clip. I used an empty button on the top layer so I would get a pointer cursor, I used a dynamic textfield the one that should change after the event to "You have clicked button 1", and last but not least the button graphic.

when the menu items are clicked it calls the SWFAddress.setValue( ); which changes the address bar and triggers the event listener: SWFAddress.addEventListener( SWFAddressEvent.CHANGE, swfAddressChange );
this is visible by the textbox in the upper left hand corner, it changes to reflect the value. But when you click the back button, the event SWFAddressEvent.CHANGE is not set off and the result is the textbox staying with the previous value.
as you can see from the html code, the flash Object has an ID, the swfaddress javascript is imported after swfobject. ( using swfobject2.1, swfaddress 2.3 )

Jun 1, 2010I created a button that has a movieclip in the rollover state. When you rollover the mouse, the movieclip will animate to appear as if the button will scale from a small to a large button even though it is the movieclip that is playing and not the button itself. But I also want to add a keyboard code to play the rollover instead of the mouse. I learned to write actionscript to play different scenes with the code below, but I'm not sure if I can play a button rollover with the same code.

My tweak that I am trying to acoomlish, is to have a custom itemEditor that is a form with two TextInputs and an OK button. For the life of me I can't get that button to trigger the DataGrid's itemEditEnd event where I have some processing before I call destroyItemEditor. I tried dispatching the event myself directly but got a strange error in DataGrid's updateDisplayList saying editedItemPosition was null (editedItemPosition.rowIndex).

Jun 30, 2009I have a List component that has drop-in CheckBox itemEditor that also serves as the itemRenderer. It displays each item as a simple CheckBox with a label.
However, the itemEditEnd Event does not get triggered until I click on something outside of the List. I want it triggered once the CheckBox is checked or unchecked.
I was thinking of manually dispatching the ListEvent.ITEM_EDIT_END in a CLICK Event handler, but then the itemEditEnd Event would get dispatched twice. There's gotta be a better way to do this.

This causes a mc to fade in and out on rollover/rollout. But what I wanna make is a box that fades in when pressed on the button and fade out when pressed for the second time. But if I say

the mc fades in, but I cant do another on (press) to fade out. Is this too confusing?

I want this to work when BACKSPACE is clicked inside the application as well, but Flex captures BACKSPACE and the browser doesn't get the event. I don't want to implement browsing history myself within the application, naturally. Can I send BACKSPACE to the containing browser?

Everything is working but what i need to do next is figure out at the end of the video trigger a function that will kill the video and remove the child. How can i detect the end of the flv? Oct 4, 2011I'm trying to run some simple code for a Flash slideshow involving the SOUND_COMPLETE event.All I'm trying to do is to get to the next frame where my nav buttons show up after the current audio file plays completely.I'm aware that new Sound Channel object is returned after the audio file plays and a new eventListener is required, but I've inserted a new listener in every place imaginable and I still can't get this to work.Here's my code.

I'm using FileReferenceList for selecting the files to be uploaded, but there seems to be a bug in the Chrome Flash Player plugin, when selecting lots of files at once.The uploader must allow up to 300 files to be uploaded, but when selecting more than 232, the FileReferenceList triggers Event.CANCEL instead of Event.SELECT.I've found a bug report for this exact problem here:[url]......
