View 1 RepliesI am making a site and I do not want some of the buttons to show all of the time. So for example, I have four text buttons with Actionscript Mouse_Over from frames 1-40 on the timeline. At 41, they are gone and four new buttons come into play. When I test the movie, the second set of rollovers link up to the specified labels.I keep getting this"1009 error at frame ()1" message. I initially had the same problem with the first four buttons as I had them appear on the stage at frame 3. After I moved them to frame 1, the rollovers worked again.So is there a way to hide the second set of buttons until a specified time or do they have to start on frame 1?Is there a way you could view my Fla file to see if it is something I am just overlooking? All of my Script is correct.

I just started to mess with Flash past week, however I will learn all that's necessary. This time I AM looking for a quick fix though, since I already know how to make the simplest slideshows with next, previous buttons, but I don't know how to make images fade into each other and add captions, as well as stop the animation when mouse is over the image. I may be ignorant - still a newbie - but I think it all has to do with just adding right tags in Actions.[URL]

I can reflect an image in both Photoshop and Illustrator. In Photoshop by flipping either horizontally or vertically.In Illustrator by using the "dedicated" Reflect Tool.Why can I not reflect...or flop an image in FLASH?Is there a way to achieve this function within Flash CS4 or cs5 for that matter?

View 11 RepliesI've used FlexCover quite a bit before so this is absolutely absurd to me. No matter what version of the flex sdk (3.0, 3.2, or 4) that I apply the appropriate patches too, I get the following error when trying to compile:[code]I have absolutely no idea why this is happening. One thing that is odd however (and I'm hoping is the source of my problem) is that I can NOT download the SDKs that are specifically suggested by the Flexcover documentation. Copying folders on Mac OS X does not merge them and so I was losing the original jar's that needed to stay there.

View 1 RepliesI am basically trying to create a menu which can be dragged across the stage. I have created a main movieclip which acts as the holder. This is the movieclip that gets dragged around. Within that movieclip there are 6 buttons. I am using the MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN and MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP eventlisteners to control the dragging however it is not working correctly.
When i compile to SWF it is fine. I click down the mouse button on the movieclip and It will start dragging however if i let go of the button it registers a click. Obviously i don't want it to do that but i'm not sure why it is registering a click as i thought that i was just releasing the button...
The second problem is if i move the mouse cursor off of the movieclip but i still have the mouse button pressed it will continue dragging the movieclip about, even if i then let go of the button.[code]...

I found code that enables my movie clip to have click and drag rotation.Not sure how this works exactly, but it does. Now I've placed buttons that show details when moused over, and I had to repeat them for every keyframe of the movie clip to have them follow the rotation of the images in the movie clip.My question is how do I now enable these detail buttons to be hidden and shown globally?I have enabled a hide/show button to change the visibility of one of the detail buttons as a test (on the tire of the race car), but what happens is the hide state gets lost as soon as you click and drag to a new keyframe and the button shows up again without having pressed the "show" button. I am doing a project at school which is based on google street veiw for the inside of school to enable people to have a look around the school online,I have succesfully managed to make a UI and put a 360 degree panorama of the corridors in school behind it which you can drag and drop left and right, which then loops around to the beginning when you reach the end of the panorama.My problem is that I want buttons on the doors of the corridor that you can click on to get a veiw of inside the room, but since the background is movable I need all of the buttons to move with the corridor,.

Right now only the last caption in the loop is displaying. I would like to have the caption only display when you click on the photo. View 1 RepliesI have captioning working with the FLVPlayback/FLVPlaybackCaptioning components. My skin has a caption button, and it toggles the captions on and off. What I can't figure out is how to get the player to start with captioning off by default.
I've googled around a bit and all I've found so far indicates that this might not be possible if the caption button is in a skin. Is this true? I find it hard to believe that this is so difficult to accomplish.
So ive been asked to build a page for a real state company and the guy told me it should be similar to these [URL] Ive been trying a couple of weeks so far, but i dont seem to find a way to do somthing similar, i mean, i want to have the welcome screen as those two:
- the gradient background
- flash occupies whole screen no matter what size it is
- gradient expands sideways infinately
- no matter what height my explorer window is, gradient is always in the same position relative to top, and if i keep expanding downwards the background keeps last colour of the gradient.
- the brand logo looks as if it had top, left and right anchors, and it also limitates the minimum width of the explorer window
i though of addind a 3000 x 3000px square with the gradient and centering it, but i know there has to be a professional way of achieving that.
I have a Flash website that consists of 6 different Scenes. The Home scene and the Videos scene each have a FLV player that I dragged from the library and I called it "vid". So I'm basically using the same player for both scenes. I'm also using the caption component and am assigning the xml via actionscript when the user clicks on a link, so it reloads the player with the correct video and the correct captions. The problem I'm having is that say they are watching the video on the Home scene with captions. If they click on the Contact Us scene, the video player disappears, but the captions stay on the screen by themselves. Looks really odd. I need a way to turn off the captions (called the component "myCaps") so they disappear both when changing scenes and changing movies. On the Videos scene, if you click a different movie's link, the old captions form the last movie stay on screen and just move up a line and the new movie's captions appear below that one. So, how do I get rid of the captions when I don't want them?[code]...

I need help adding captions to images in a swf and picture gallery. I have added a dynamic text box in the flash file and have managed to import the text from XML but I have been unable to attatch it to different images to display different caption messages. I have followed a tutorial to make this gallery and only have the very basics so far. I am using XML to pull the information for the location and size of the images and gallery into the flash file.

I know how to add captions to flash that I can convert into a flv. but interactive flash cannot be converted. I believe there is a way to do captions by adding the words on their own keyframes but some of the video's I need to caption have no real keyframes just scripts pointing to a audio holder such as:

I have a "hot" area where the user can drag around this newspaper looking thing. Also, there are hover captions that say, "Drag" and a caption that says "Close" over what will be the close button.Everything works fine.Until....Click to drag the paper thingy, then release it. Move your mouse off the paper, then back onto the hot area. The captions snap right to the center of the hot area.
View 8 RepliesI am not simply trying to contain things and have the container resize without the contents resizing. I would just use a simple MovieClip for that.. My main focus is on the use of BitmapFill. I'm trying to make a repeating background image for a container; thus far I'm able to draw my BitmapFill sprite to the size I want. (Which is the stage's height) but when the stage is resized, I want to re-size my container but have my containers BitmapFill crop or add more as the window is resized bigger or smaller. Allow me to illustrate what I mean:
I've got a simple rectangle sprite that fills with a bitmap from the library and a simple resize handler function that detects when the window has been resized.what I would like to do is have my rectangle resize to the height of the stage.stageHeight maintaining its bitmap fill, but not resizing the bitmap fill or any children within the sprite.
From what I've read, this is a little tricky because the sprite resizes in relation to what it contains.. or.. something like that.. I really don't know any more.. I saw one example where a person extended the sprite class but I don't know why or how..
