If I have a named HTML element such as: <div name="myDiv"></div> Is it possible to change the inner HTML and/or inner text of this tag only using ActionScript (i.e., I don't want to use JavaScript at all)? Basically, I want the same functionality as you can do with JavaScript's innerHTML or innerText properties but without using JavaScript.
View 1 RepliesI'm working on an interface with an option to enter html code, and then click a button to render what's in the text box as html, and if needed convert it back to plain text to edit the html code again.I know you can change whether text boxes render their contents as html using text.html = true/false but it doesn't do it if the text box contains anything and setting the contents to "" before changing it doesn't seem to work either. Does this make any sense? If so does anyone know how I can do it?

when i test, the flash loaded. The code goes through everything and show "SENT" in the flash text box. However, it doesn't seem like it is calling the javascript and change the text in the HTML page.is there something wrong I did? i try the ExternalInteface.call method but doesn't work neither. ALSO, when i run it in FireFox, not error popup.however, when i run it in IE, I got this:

I have a piece of Flash on an HTML page that when you hover over it, it expands out to reveal more information.There are text links that it expands over, however in everything but IE, when it's not expanded those links are still covered by the Flash making them unclickable.I have the Flash piece in a separate DIV wmode set to transparent.

If I just display regular text it works or if I change the textArea element to a RichEditableText element it works fine. View 2 RepliesI was analyzing the files of a image gallery that I`m working on and I noticed that it evolve three files: one xml, one php and one flash. According what I saw there is no need to change the php file (its only say how to organize de file code gallery.xml). I need to change the actionscript code in flash file.
The image gallery is designed to open a lightbox like window inside the flash when is clicked to see the larger size of the image. I need that, when the file extension is not an image (or it is a .html extension file) the link just opens a target _blank window or even a pop-up window with width and height defined that itis a html.
I believe that the better way to solve this is saying in actionscript language in the flash file that, if the src= of the image is a file with .html extension, it besides open that like lightbox image inside the flash, simlpy open that link in a news window or pop-up. It is possible to do this in actionscript?

I have a text field component that I am dynamically populating with text. The words appear one letter at a time in a teleprinter style fashion. I also have rendered certain words with HTML to make style changes within the text.Now all this works fine, except because the HTML text is larger than the body of the other text, I am losing theteleprintereffect at the bottom of the text field. In other words, after a set amount has been printed, users are not seeing the letters printed out one at a time, but instead just get a printed line of text appear from beneath the visible section of the text window.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to use a dynamic text field to pull in html text that contains a bulleted list. Easy enough, that works. But the bullets dont take on the color assigned to the field. I've tried putting it in the html text and also using NewTextFormat and neither work. Can someone help me. This should be a simple fix, but I can't find it... I am trying to implement htmlText for a text component as the returned string is in html format (with the html tags etc). If I put a text=.... i get the full text, but with the tags (which i want converted to html). So i use htmlText=.... and it formats it fine, but cuts half the text from the variable. The text im supposed to get back has tons of html tags, and maybe its cutting it somewhere because of the tag its not able to escape... How do i fix this?
View 1 RepliesI am using a dynamic text field to show html formatted text from .txt files. I have set the html property both in the properties panel and in AS, and it mostly works. All html formatting show up just fine, except for when "&" is used. Flash CS3 documentation indicates that & is supported, so.? All text after the & does not appear: the only text loaded is that that comes before it. I am using CS3, AS2, publishing in Flash Player 9. Sorry if this problem has been addressed elsewhere, but I've had no luck with my searches.
