Html :: Flex - Display HTML Text In A Textarea Control?

I have created a textArea element but cannot display my HTML content. If I just display regular text it works or if I change the textArea element to a RichEditableText element it works fine. Since this is for a mobile app I would prefer to use the textArea element as recommended by Adobe.Here is the MXML code for the textArea. All I get is the border and no content displayed.

if you feed the textarea text attribute with an tag that has a valid src url, then for some reason flex will try to render everything as html.Eg, try this:<mx:TextArea id="textArea" width="100%" height="90%" text="<img src='http://url-to-a-valid-img"/> and instead of it rendering it as raw text it will render it as an html.

I've been experimenting with MXML- and spark-textarea (and richtexteditor)when I copied some formatted texts like Test tes1 from MS Word 2007 and paste them inside the flash textarea , the formattings are gone (I only receive the plain texts)But when I do the same to the Jwysiwyg (a jquery wysiwyg text editor), the formatting doesn't disppear.Is there a way to make flash textareas receive formatted texts without destroying the formattings?

I'm playing around with a messaging type of application. Does anyone know how, or of any tutorials on to "appending" html text to text areas in flex and flex mobile projects? And specifically how I could take that and basically "append" a sprite inline to the text when i need to? I'm using AS2 in Flash CS3.I have a TextArea component in the stage that's loading its text from an XML and I've been able to use the ul and li tags to create lists. However, when I try to include a nested list it just inserts a line break between the nested list and the main list rather than indent it further. Is there a solution for this issue?Failing that, how would I be able to add non-breaking spaces into the XML so they will render inside the TextArea component? I've tried and without success. I scoured the net for some help with this and found some information about modifying the font embedding xml file with a new entry for the non-breaking space and that didn't work either, so that leaves me somewhat stumped.

I have a text field component that I am dynamically populating with text. The words appear one letter at a time in a teleprinter style fashion. I also have rendered certain words with HTML to make style changes within the text.Now all this works fine, except because the HTML text is larger than the body of the other text, I am losing theteleprintereffect at the bottom of the text field. In other words, after a set amount has been printed, users are not seeing the letters printed out one at a time, but instead just get a printed line of text appear from beneath the visible section of the text window.

I am using the flex HTML component and I would like to clear the history of the control when it is taken off screen, so that when it comes back on again the history is reset.
The only thing I can think of at the moment is to set the HTML control to a new HTML control, although this is a bit of a pain.

I'm having trouble firing or capturing the results of an event firing.
Here's the current code...

What's happening is that the user fills out a form in the HTML Viewer, then when they click the submit button I want to be notified of the page change.
If they land on URL A, then they'll be shown one message. If they land on URL B, they'll be shown another.
However, the event isn't firing.
I've also tried COMPLETE and HTML_DOM_INITIALIZE.

I am trying to display an HTML formated file in text area component using Action 3.0. The following script does not generates compiler errors, each function seems to be executed yet the file is not displayed. When trying the same code with myCV.txt and myCV_TA.text = (loader1.data) the text file is displayed OK. Flash MX and actionscript 2.0 had handled that differently but with success?

It's been a about seven years since I have done any work with Flash but now my employer is asking me to create a custom online magazine tool (we're publishers). I've been immersed in PHP and AJAX and building Mac apps with XCode so I've got a bit of a relearning curve to go through.
Anyway, I'm pulling in some XML into a Flash file and want to display some of the various node values in a dynamic text box. That was easy enough, AS3 makes it a charm compared to the dark old days. The problem I am running into is displaying the values - its kind of a runsheet for a magazine - num of pages, ads, features, etc. etc. and I want to display that in one text box in a list type format. So I have something like this:
