Dec 27, 2009I'm trying to create a Flex based internet application with an EJB layer in the server. This layer provides the XML used by the flex application. It uses the Cairngorm architecture.Currently, on an error I call the handler function defined in all the command files. How can I centralize this?My idea is to create a XML file that contains all the error messages and the types of error message eg:- Warning, Error etc. In the error handler, I will call the error handling function and pass a unique id which in turn will display the error message defined in the xml config file. Do I need to load this XML file in the Model layer of the application itself and store them as say global variables?

Sep 16, 2010I have configured FMS 4.0 to do RTMPS on port 443. To test it, I created a self-signed certificate and then imported the certificate as an authority in my browser (Firefox). I don't want to go and get a real certificate until I can verify that FMS is able to do what I want it to.I included the path to the certificate and the private key in Adaptor.xml in <install dir>/conf/_defaultRoot_/That's the only file I have modified.[code]In the NET_STATUS handler I always get the following error: NetConnection.Connect.CertificateUntrustedSigner.

Nov 8, 2010I've created a movieclip spawner class and animator class which animate movieclips along a set of x,y points.I've used Greensock's TweenMax to accomplish the animation and I have set the speed to be 1 second between each point. The issue is that when the distance between two points is small it looks too slow.
What I would like to do is somehow calculate the distance between the two points and output a speed in the range of 0 to 1 seconds so that the speed is to be correct for the shorter distances as well as the longer distances.

Mar 17, 2011I'm building a Flash video player that uses the new StageVideo API. StageVideo requires window mode (wmode) to be set to "direct". Unfortunately, setting wmode to direct prevents the express install dialog from popping up if a user has a version of Flash Player older than 10.2.How can I set my wmode to direct to get StageVideo to work but also ensure the Express Installer pops up for users with older Flash Players?

Aug 26, 2009I'm working with SWFObject 2.2 using the expressInstall.swf that comes with the package.I understand that the swf is loading in another swf from an adobe server which is the actual express install.My problem is that when it loads, it loads at a larger dimension than I can handle and causes my flash to wrap onto another line and makes the site terribly ugly.how to prevent the dimensions from growing once the express install is loaded?(btw, no matter what dimension I change the expressInstall.swf to, it always becomes something bigger than I can have on the screen)

Flex :: Configuring "Web Application URL" For Team Use
Feb 16, 2011I'm trying to take advantage of 'Path Variables' (or Linked Resources), in my teams FlashBuilder4 project properties, so that its not such a bear to get a new project out of SVN, and up and running. I'm all done with that, except that I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do for the "Web application URL". It doesn't allow me to create a "Path Variable" for http:// type items, only files and folders. Short of saying that all developers need to configure their servers exactly thus, how can I configure this property so that individual team-members settings don't interfere with other team-members ?
