ActionScript 2.0 :: Create A 1px Stroke Around The Thumbnails In Flash?
Apr 30, 2006
I want to create a 1px stroke around the thumbnails in flash with actionscript. after browsing a gallery , is it possible to hide the "next" button? The same in the begining, is it possible to hide the "previous" button on photo 1/10?
You can easily set a stroke on a line series like this:
[Code]...
This will set alpha for the entire stroke to .8 But I want to be able to set a different alpha on the stoke for each plot based on something in the dataProvider. For example the yField in the lineSeries is "Apple" which is how it knows where to plot for the lineSeries. I want to be able to add something like alphaField which tells it what to set the stroke alpha for each plot.
This is question is a take off of my post in the Flash MX forum regarding creating thumbnails. I'm trying to create thumbnails for a pic gallery and would like to have an over-button state that will make my little thumbnail increase in size a little to indicate that this is the picture the viewer is going to view. I don't know how to go about making this button and I'm trying to figure out if there is a way through action script to do this. This way I don't have to make the over state a movie and increase the size manually...
I need to create a rather detailed menu system that will load thumbnails of movie clips that I can then double-click on and it will load them into the display list of another movie clip.
I think I can code the loading part but I've never dealt with creating flash menus before and don't have any help in the 5 as3 books I own.
Is there a way I can make the menu generate the thumbs from an external file that I can just update when I need to instead of editing the flash file?
I found the tutorial on how to create a photo album with thumbnails using XML. However the only thing that i shows me is to create it with a scroller. I made some modifications to thinking I was going to be able to turn it into a grid but everything that I have tried is not working.[code]
Kind of like this but instead of scrolling to mouse move, the user would have to click the arrows. And it would be vertical instead of horizontal: [URL]
I'm trying to create the simple photo gallery with thumbnails which is in the tutorial Adding Thumbnails, but I'm having a bit of a problem. I've just done the Photo Gallery Using XML and Flash tutorial [URL] which worked perfectly . I've then gone on to the Adding Thumbnails tutorial, [URL] which follows on.I've been working my way throught the tutorial, but when I get to point ix. on page three, I don't get the thumbnails loading at all. I have checked, and double checked the code I have, and I've copied the code from the tutorial assuming that this is right, but nothing appears to work.I'm using Flash MX, not MX 2004.
I'm working on a flash module that basically needs to offer the ability for the user to scroll through a series of thumbnails in a carousel format. I currently have the following code which is creating my thumbails horizontally which is all working fine. [code]...
I'm trying to create an image gallery by toggling between different sets of thumbnails and thus loading the appropriate images.I've set up the first 9 okay and they all load at first but when I toggle back and forth in the toggleThumbnails function using addChild I can no longer load these same movieclips.I'm loading the same movieclip with their associated instance names? How come it no longer interacts with the thumbnails?
ActionScript Code: import flash.events.MouseEvent; var thumbnailSet = "setOne";[code].....
I'm trying to create a simple slide gallery with one main canvas + thumbnails.Usually the main canvas has auto slide feature.Users can choose the picture on main canvas from thumbnails.When the mouse is over thumbnails I want Canvas to stop auto slide show until that mouse is outside of thumbnails.So I start creating this, and I finish coding for auto slide show and choosing picture from thumbnails. Now I need to code if the mouse is on the thumbnail then temporary stop auto slide show.I thought the right way is to write the code like this,[code]but when I do this, the timer won't stop.
Haven't been here for a while and I'm really rusty using Flash. I looking for a tutorial or some information on how to scroll thumbnails by scrolling the mouse left or right over the thumbnails.
there is a yellow stroke appearing on my Flash buttons sometimes and i really have no idea why..anyone had this before? I didnt put there...and sometimes it appears on random buttons..
I used the tutorial "Adding Thumbnails" to build a fotoshow. Adding another xml-file I have the problem,that I cannot reload(?) the thumbnails correctly.[code]Then I do not see any thumbnails,if(!) the new thumbnail list contains fewer elements than the old one and if the old thumbnail list was scrolled over the hit_right field before.It is seemingly necessary to reset the internal state of the movieclip. But how can I accompish that?
Code: var myArrow:ArrowMovieClip = new ArrowMovieClip(); var vectorDisplayObject:DisplayObject = stage.addChild( myArrow );
I used the code above to create an instance of an arrow graphic that I made using the line tool (the graphic is embedded in a movie clip). I now want to add different colored fills and different stroke sizes and colors using code. Is it possible to do this with pre-drawn vector graphic objects, or is it only doable if I create the arrow with code using things like lineTo and curveTo?
I've got a website with three links to three different thumbnail galleries. When I click the link to a gallery that has a lesser number of thumbnails, it fills the difference in numbers in with thumbnails from the previous gallery.
So I was messing around with JSFL, and I wanted to set the storke to None. That should be done like this:
var stroke = fl.getDocumentDOM().getCustomStroke("toolbar"); stroke.style = "noStroke"; fl.getDocumentDOM().setCustomStroke(stroke);
[Code].....
I get a solid storke with aRGB value: 00 00 00 00 (0 alpha, 0 red, 0 green, 0 blue). (Which normally is impossible using the color-toolbar)
If I execute that command once more, I get the right stroke color! (It also works if I have any normal solid color. If the stroke is a gradient or bitmap, nothing happens).
As I mentioned, there have been NO problems at all with setting things for fills. ONLY strokes.
I am trying to create an image gallery similar to Androids "Gallery" where it is a horizontal scrolling list of images. I am doing this with an HBox and Bitmap objects wrapped in a UIComponent. The problem is I am trying to do this for mobile and having many full size images open in memory causes problems. I have been trying to have the images load right as they are scrolling into view and unload once they are out of view, but the loading/unloading while scrolling requires too much cpu and causes a very choppy and poor UI. What I am looking to do is be able to load several low quality versions of the images in memory so I dont have to do as much loading/unloading. I have tried decreasing the height/width but it dosnt seem to have an effect on memory usage.
Well i've used flash a bit but i never really messed with sounds. I want to make kind of a drum tool fun thing that can play sounds, so i need to know how to make a sound play when you press a letter or buton on keyboard
So I like the whole convert stroke to fill option in the Modify menu, but what if I want to apply a stroke to a fill?
In other words, if I created a circle, then delete the stroke, is there any way to the regenerate the stroke? I mean, if I press A I can see the contours of the fill - can I just turn that into a stroke? In the properties menu, if I click on stroke (which as its colour has the white box with a red diagonal line) it's all greyed out. Am I missing something obvious?
I'm trying to create a simple coloring book app and I've got it mostly working based on tutorials and code I've found on the web. I'm using an array for my color swatches and I'm trying to add a stroke but it's not working. The markers in the array are based on a symbol called "Colours".[code]
How do I add a stroke to text in Flex 4? Specifically I'd like to add it to a Label (the text will change in it).
The closest solution suggested has been to add a drop shadow filter as shown below. I've added a rectangle with a stroke for comparison. If the stroke weight is between 2 to 3 it's acceptable. If it's above or below that then it's too blurry or rough. In my case I need to support 2 to 6 weight.
A follow up question would be is it possible to create a stroke filter through Pixel Bender.
<s:VGroup> <s:Label text="Select an example on the left. Right-click to view source." color="#FF8C00" top="10" left="10"
I have a series of previously created rectangles, all with a lineStyle(stoke), but later, when in the program, I highlight them via colorTranform with MOUSE_OVER, and and return the color back to its previous state with MOUSE_OUT, and try to re-apply the lineStyle, it returns the color, but not the lineStyle.
Here is my code: function highlightSquare(e:MouseEvent) { if (building == true) { transform1.color = 0x00CCFF; var temp1 = e.currentTarget; temp1.transform.colorTransform = transform1; [Code] .....
