ActionScript 2.0 :: Create Auto-adjustable Text Boxes In Flash?

I have to create a flash control which has 3 text boxes in 3 rows. please see attached screenshot. & all the text boxes have dynamic content & different style.
what happen now, when i have more content in the text boxes, it overlaps to the other, don't adjust accordingly(when we have more content in any text box the other text box beneath it should get down from current position). I tried lot & researched on the internet lot, but didn't get any solution for that.

I have a widescreen laptop and it works perfect, the organization of everything is just in the right place and everything - so I thought it would be cropped in a 1024 x 768 resolution... so I change my resolution to 1024 x 768 and ... surprise!! it is perfect once again! the organization of the web, text and even some images (in the photograph section) fixes itself depending on the resolution, no need for a different swf file in a different html page, the same one fixes everything.
so I know everything is probably loaded in different swfs, in the html the swf is set to expand to fully fill the page and expand 100%... but how about the main swf?... what's its real size and how come it loads the other movies in a different location depending resolution - the elements move by themselves if the expansion of the swf change?
Is it possible to tell a text box to auto fit to its text? What I mean is that when i change the size of a font to something smaller the text box remains its old large self. This is a problem because when I want to align this text with several other text boxes that have gone through similar treatment, the alignment will take into account the full box size rather than just the text.
So basically I have to go and manually shorten each text box. Which is a pain when you have to deal with a lot of text. Is there a script or button/option I'm not aware of that will auto fit the box constantly?

My JSFL has the above code.And on the 3rd line, I get a dialog box :which has title : "Resolve library conflict"two radio button options : "replace","dont replace"two buttons : "ok","cancel" Due to this dialog box, I have to manually monitorthe script execution and click on a button. want to either :1. Suppress these kind of dialog boxex altogether.2. or programatically provide a default option to these kind of dialogs
Trying to create a simple shopping cart with text boxes and delete buttons on the fly and everything is created properly, but I can't get them to delete.

I have an interface that will have a variable amount of buttons in it and the text on each button can be anywhere from 10 characters to 30 characters. What I'd like to do is to have my buttons auto-size width wise based on the length of the text. I don't think that will be too difficult but I'd also like to have rounded corners on the top of the buttons so that they'll look like tabs and from my experience when you change the width of these buttons that have rounded corners they start looking a bit odd since they won't retain their original radius
how to make text in a flash movie that can be resized by the user? I see that this is possible in an HTML website and I'd like to have that option in a flash website I am making
! I just did the Kirupa XML tutorial (for Flash MX) and ... I actually understand! But now I need to change a few things.. and I haven't got a clue. Right now, I know how to import text from an XML file into different text boxes. But, what I need to do, is be able to import text regardless of how many text boxes my FLA file has.
Am trying to see if anyone has any links or resources where I can learn to setup a flash video file where it automatically redirects to another URL such as a sales page at the conclusion of the video. I also would like to find out how to have a link/overlay at the end of the video where a viewer can click to go to another URL such as a sales page.
I am not a prgrammer by profession but do work in Flash and I am willing to try this given the right learning resources. Not sure if both or either of these tasks is done in the flash file or in some type of java script on the html page. I have seen this done by this company [URL] but you have to subscribe to their service using their control panel and they limit the number of players you can create.

I am a PHP Developer, I know nothing about Flash and with all respect I do not want to know anything about. I develop a CMS which provides the backend for a Flash front end. Data is passed to the template via XML. Everything is grand. The problem is with text formatting. Currently we use the dodgiest flash text formatter. It doesn't work half the time, its horrible but it - just about - does the job. I have been tasked with replacing it. I would like to bring in CKEditor or TinyMCE but when I do I have 2 major problems.
1) Pre-existing HTML messes up the display in TinyMCE due to its invalidity (I can solve this.) 2) The TinyMCE HTML breaks the flash template because of the valid HTML.
I have an interactive assignment in which the students have to enter text entries into an input box. I have it working to where when the enter the correct answer it will tell them, or if it's wrong. I need to be able to tell them when they get to the last question, after they have gotten all of them correct, that they got all the questions correct. I know how to do this with a drag and drag interaction but not text entry. can someone point me in the right direction?
Im working on a project which includes a text editor in Flash which works perfectly but im trying to alter the code so the editor works over several input boxes rather than just one. Using Flash CS4 btw. Here is the actionscript im working with. If someone could give me some pointers as to how to allow the code to edit text in multiple boxes i would be eternally grateful.
So I have a movieclip in my flash that has an event listener that calls it to pull up when the mouse is over and go down when the mouse is out. Kinda like a menu. But this object that I am accessing has text over it. The problem is it works until the the mouse that hits the text over it. Then it drops down.[code]
I have a PHP file which is correctly pulling records from a SQL database. What I need to do is place each new record into a new text box. I understand that I need to assign a variable to each record as it comes through the PHP file and that Flash needs to know which variable to assign to which text box. So, in that respect I have added a counter to the PHP script (it is performing correctly)
I have to dynamic text boxes; one is for articles and the other is supposed to bu for navigation of the articles. I have a variable set up for the article dynamic text box and I want the navigation part to be filled in via text file. so I need to find a way for the information that's fed in to the navigation part to functions as buttons and when they are clicked a variable should pass though flash telling is what story to display. for instance if you click stereohype then storyvar == stereohype. see what I mean? I could do it all in flash but i'm trying to make it where I don't have to touch the flash file after it's completed and everything can just be manipulated via text files with html php xml you name it, what ever works.
I have 4 dynamic text boxes which duplicates the text from a main input text box. How do I write a code to make visible only the dynamic text box I want when clicked it's check box.What is the CODE to make each "DYNAMIC TEXTBOX" visible when clicked on it's checkbox?

I made a simpletext file and used the loadVariablesNum() script in flash to call that file into dynamic text boxes within my flash piece. that's all fine and dandy but now the problem is that I don't know how to make links in that simpletext document to link to specific parts of my flash movie. Basically, I need the simpletext document to have words that you can click that will take you to another frame that has another dynamic box in it with more text.

i'm trying to create a roi calculator using two combo boxes. Box 1 how many treatments 5,10,20 Box 2 cost per treatment 90, 100, 120 then button to calculate treatment x cost and a dynamic text field to display result. I am using Flash CS4, am I wasting my time with combo boxes I have searched flsh docs all day.
I have a movieclip with linkage set to block. When I compile this, the block appears however they are all on top of each other. When I used trace commands to find currentBlock._x, they are the correct values.
However, all the boxes are at the same position. When I add trace(currentBlock), I get _level0.noteGrid.block1 ... , however when I do trace(_root.noteGrid.block1) I get undefined.
I'm creating a Flash game...blackjack, actually. Im trying to create 4 rows of 16 buttons/boxes...Ive been reading up about 2d arrays in my javascript book and have tried this but Im getting a problem about the property length not found on a number, etc.Initially, I had a for loop running from 0 to 16 which created a row of 16 buttons, then they were being pushed into an array. Now I want to create 4 rows of 16 buttons and hopefully push them somehow into a 2d array.

I was wondering how to create combo boxes dynamically using action script? I know you can use the component object but tyhat's not what I want to do. Is there another way? What libraries would I have to import to my project's main as file?
