Actionscript 3.0 :: Get Elapsed/Total Time Dynamic Text Boxes Into A Flash Skin Template
Feb 29, 2008
How do I get my Elapsed/Total Time dynamic text boxes into a flash skin template. I put the boxes in the skin and have the code to make it work on my main stage yet it doest do anything. When i put the text boxes on the stage it works...
developing custom video player for my fla files.. i made few flash slides with combination of audio, text, animations, and video files.(for a e learning project).. the player which i made is a blend of few sample tutorials available on online... now my problem is how to display the total movie length of the movie in a dynamic text box using as2..
I want to separate the time_txt inside the counter_mc into two objects. One displaying just the displayheadTime and the other the totalTime. I want to do this on the skin file. What my problem is I can't seem to find the part where the text is being set at all. I am using CS5/FlvPlayback 2.5.
I have a programme that will count each second that has elapsed from one key press to another, in the output panel I get all the times this has happened (each second) but would like the total number displayed in a text box on the stage at the end. This will be the total delay between key presses.
I'm trying to modify an mp3 player to work on my site, and I can't seem to get it to display time elapsed and total duration. I've included the .fla file below so you can see it (keep in mind that the mp3 file it loads, and the title are both passed to it through the link, i.e. "mp3player.html?audlink=test.mp3&audtitle=This+Is+The+Title").
I'm using an mp3player skin, but the running time won't work (bottom of code)--it stays at "0:00" when you hit play. Everything else is working fine.[code]
I want to be able to add the sum of 3 input text boxes and have the total be displayed in another text box. figure I set a variable and do something along the lines of: Number = "_root.input1 + _root.input2 + _root.input3";Or do I have to do this another way? Also where should I put the code? In a button? Or can I stick it in the frame to save complications of users clicking on a button.
Here is the situation : When a user watches the full duration of a video, I would like to add a new row to the database. For example, if there is a video of 100 MB with a duration of 2 hours and the user watches the full video add a new row, else do nothing. I am using JW player and js.
I have a PHP file which is correctly pulling records from a SQL database. What I need to do is place each new record into a new text box. I understand that I need to assign a variable to each record as it comes through the PHP file and that Flash needs to know which variable to assign to which text box. So, in that respect I have added a counter to the PHP script (it is performing correctly)
I've loaded a video into the FLVPlayback component and I'm looking for a way to get the total time and the time played so far and output them to two text fields so the end result would look something like "00:12/00:50".
Right now I'm defining the video by the components inspector but I'm eventually hoping to define this bit by actionscript as well.
Im using the FLVplayback component for a project im doing. I want to add the time elapsed and time left on the controls (just like how the player on the tutorials on this site works). I dont really want to create my own controls, as im happy with the flv playback component.
I have to dynamic text boxes; one is for articles and the other is supposed to bu for navigation of the articles. I have a variable set up for the article dynamic text box and I want the navigation part to be filled in via text file. so I need to find a way for the information that's fed in to the navigation part to functions as buttons and when they are clicked a variable should pass though flash telling is what story to display. for instance if you click stereohype then storyvar == stereohype. see what I mean? I could do it all in flash but i'm trying to make it where I don't have to touch the flash file after it's completed and everything can just be manipulated via text files with html php xml you name it, what ever works.
I've created a timer to count elapsed time on a flash player of mine, I can't figure out how to control it though. For example I need the pause/ play buttons to (you guessed it) pause and continue the count. The dynamic text field that keeps count is simply called "count" and the pause button is btn_pause and play button is btn_play
I made a simpletext file and used the loadVariablesNum() script in flash to call that file into dynamic text boxes within my flash piece. that's all fine and dandy but now the problem is that I don't know how to make links in that simpletext document to link to specific parts of my flash movie. Basically, I need the simpletext document to have words that you can click that will take you to another frame that has another dynamic box in it with more text.
can't figure out why the dynamic text boxes in my dynamic clip arent picking up the variable when I loop through this recordset!the trace (you'll see here right after I try two ways to assign the variable) traces the correct info back..
I have 4 dynamic text boxes which duplicates the text from a main input text box. How do I write a code to make visible only the dynamic text box I want when clicked it's check box. What is the CODE to make each "DYNAMIC TEXTBOX" visible when clicked on it's checkbox?
At the moment I'm making a presentation for school in Flash MX 2004. I want some kind of progression bar in the presentation. This is how I have it in my mind:
2/15
2 is the current frame and 15 is the total number of frames. I know I have to do this with the use of ActionScript in combination with dynamic text labels. How can I read out the current frame number and the total number of frames?
I was wondering if it's possible to have a dynamic text box that can change sizes, without distorting the text displayed in it... I would also like to set it up dynamically.
Suppose I have 2 buttons on stage. When the first button is pressed, a time count starts. When the second button is pressed, the time count stops. (In essence we are measuring the time elapsed (in milliseconds) between the first and second click.)How can I set up such time count?
I wonder if you can get the number of milliseconds that have elapsed since an actionscript timer has started.I want to set a simple label in flex that has the value of how long it wil take before the timer fires (again).this is the code, at 'GET ELAPSED TIME', I need the time that the timer has been running (since it last fired the function):
var timer = new Timer (10000); timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, foo); timer.start();
I have a INPUT TEXT inside a mc called "txt mc" and DYNAMIC TEXT in the main time line.I'm trying to display what's typed in the INPUT TEXT (my_Input_Txt) in the DYNAMIC TEXT boxes (my_Dyn_Txt1, my_Dyn_Txt2, my_Dyn_Txt3).Here's the code. But it won't simply work perhaps because the INPUT TEXT is inside a MC. I need to have the INPUT TEXT INSIDE THAT MC while having the DYNAMIC TEXT boxes out in the main time line.
I have published some videos with flash, but I need to find a way to display a very simple timer showing the elapsed time. I tried to use a dynamic text with AS3 without any success. I would like to use one of the ready-made skin for my player, and just add anywhere on the stage a dynamic text field with my time inside.
Does anyone know a script that can display the time elapsed on a site like this http:[url].... i took a look at the countdown timer tutorial but it's not what i'm looking for ...
Maybe I'm blind (or just dumb) but I've been searching through the API trying to find out how to get the time elapsed for a Timer object. I want to, at any given time, find out EXACTLY how much time(in milliseconds) has passed since a Timer Object has been started.
I'm trying to implement a feature like the text boxes in adobe photoshop. I want my user to be able to add a text box to the stage that they can move(drag and drop) and go back and change the text later. I also want to be able to keep track of the text boxes so I can let the user change the color, etc. How can I do this?
I had a form working fine at [URL] and then I edited something that made it screw up. I have been poring over the code but I can't figure out what I did wrong.look at the Contacts page and tell me if you can discern what would cause the lettering in the dynamic text boxes.
This might be straight forward, but I would like to know how could one link dynamic text boxes so that the information would flow? In a way, the information would flow from:
(XML) Input A into BOXA00, BOXA01, BOXA02, BOXA03, etc. (XML) Input B into BOXB00, BOXB01, BOXB02, BOXB03, etc. (XML) Input C into BOXC00, BOXC01, BOXC02, , BOXC03, etc.
