So i have several items on a page, each of which tweens out or in depending on a mouse event. So far i can do Easing on them when they are going out/in but how do i also set up a tween so that it blurs as the come in and out (motion blur) like the ones in the motion presets. I want to accomplish the same motion preset settings but with Actionscript.

I have 10 different map symbols on the stage. I have 1 class called ContinentView which is linked as the base class to each of these 10 map symbols. All I want to do is duplicate the same map symbol and miniaturize it when the map symbol is clicked upon. Thus, 2 symbols will be on stage prior to clicking, 1 large and 1 small. The 10 different map symbols have names such as zone1, zone2, zone3...etc. all the way up to 10. I know that I can do var mini:MovieClip = new zone1() as MovieClip; but thats ONLY if I click on the 1st map symbol and vice versa. This means I would have to do an if tree or several cases in a switch statement to check the id or name of the clicked symbol (e.currentTarget.name or something)...I want to avoid that and be dynamic.

What do I use to blur a sliding picture? I want it to blur gradually as the motion of the picture increases. I have BlurFilter on right now, within the btn function that evokes the picture motion, but it obviously just immediately blurs the picture upon btn activation and doesn't do it gradually.
 
I understand that filters can not be tween'd with tween (except tween lite - but I don't want to use this).
 
I found something on [URL]..3-0-a.html but can't seem to adapt it to my code.

I recently wrote a motion blur effect applied to the entire scene in AS3. I used bitmap data and a blur filter to apply the effect. I am trying to reproduce the same effect in AS2 but it doens't support Bitmaps or Sprites. Does anyone know how I can achieve such an effect using AS2 ? I am basically tying to create trails for a particle system.

I've created a symbol which is a loop of animated dotted line. I've applied blur along its path so it looks like motion blur.If I place this inside another symbol and rotate it, the blur rotates also so the blur is no longer along the axis of the dotted line.Anybody know a way of stopping blur rotating within a nested symbol?

The other converted to paddock_mc in the library, with a linkage identifier of "paddock".I want to be able to click the button, and create a duplicate, which can be dragged and placed on the screen.Unfortunately, I don't get any output errors here.

Morphing From One Symbol To The Another Using Motion Tweens?

I am fairly new to flash and I'm currently using CS4 to create shape tweens that morph from a shape (in my case an astroid, not to be confused with an asteroid) to text that I have broken apart into individual shapes.  This works very well with the shape tweens; however, I would like to use symbols instead of shapes for my tween.
 
Naturally, I converted my shape and my broken apart text to symbols and then set up a motion tween.  My research has told me that you cannot morph from one symbol to another using ANY tween, but this would not make sense to me.
 
Am I missing how to actually do this? If it is true that you cannot morph between symbols, then why on earth hasn't Adobe made a way to do this.  If I need to substitute one shape for another in a flash video, and I have this shape in 100s of frames in the video, there is NO way to quickly find and replace those shapes, especially if you've duplicated the the several (20) times in each frame.

PNG Sequence - Motion Tween Of Symbol Instance

I use a .png sequence for a sprite (primarily because it has the alpha channel) I will use in flash... its a walking animation of several frames. I make an empty symbol, load the frames into it. I put the symbol in the canvas. It animates fine and the alpha channel is working. Now I try to make a motion tween of the symbol instance, so as to simulate the walking movement, from one point to another. I playback [ENTER] its working fine, just as I want it.

Now if I do the [ctrl+ENTER] preview or export, the motion tween is working, the sprite is moving from point a to point b BUT the walk animation is NOT WORKING. Its just showing the first frame in the image sequence! Am I missing out something to make the image sequence animation work like it should? I tried to do the exact same thing to a movie clip (MOV) it works... but with the png image sequence I am really puzzled.

I'm making a very simple animated flight plan with 3 airfields and six airplanes as seen from the top. To imitate the effect of take off and landing I want to be able to change the size of the plane when it flies.Only trouble is I can do that only with the Free Transform Tool. Even if I select Modify -> Transform -> Scale I have to change the shape of each object manually and they end up having different sizes. I tried editing the size in the properties box but the fields are greyed out. Any idea how I can change that.

I have two files one is called tween_start.fla and the other is called tween_end.fla I am trying to create a motion tween where the animation begins at tween_start.fla and ends at tween_end.fla Each file consists of 7 shapes (it's a tangram if you're curious). At frame 10 of the tween_start.fla timeline I right-click on each layer and do Insert Blank Keyframe. Then I go to tween_end.fla click on a shape and do Modify>Convert to Symbol. Then I go back to the timeline for tween_start.fla, right-click on frame 10 and do Paste Frames or Insert Keyframe. If I do Paste Frames with all of the symbols I've created in tween_end.fla then the shapes end up stacked on top of each other. If I do Insert Keyframe it doesn't insert the symbol I've just created, instead it just keeps the same shapes that were at the first frame of tweet_start.fla. So how do I insert the symbols from tween_end.fla into the tenth frame of tweet_start.fla and then execute a motion tween between the frames?

im writing AS3 under linux and as such do not have access to ANY of the fl.* packages, including tweens, motions, special animations and components. I can only use Math.* and XY Grid Coordinates to calculate motion manually.

I can make movement of sprites fairly easily on a coordinate system, but this restricts how the path can go. Usualy only an up,down,left,right movements for the simplest math. I suppose this could be expanded to move in more varied directions but its not quite what im looking for.

I would like to be able to draw an invisible line that a shape can follow. Then it can have curves or bends in it without problem. I want to then start the sprite at the 1st pixel of the line and set its next coorinate based on where the line is at, but at 10px down it (and so on) till it reaches the end of the line. Is it possible because I cant think of a way? Are there any other good PureAs3 motion tutorials around?

Professional :: Motion Path Using 3D - OK In Main Timeline Broken In Symbol

I have spent many frustrating hours trying to figure out why this is happening. It is totally broken. I need to use a  motion path using 3d in a symbol. Because of the way the project is put together (for Flex) there are several FLAs that need to be converted to symbols.
 
So when I convert the FLA that contains a motion path with 3D, the object moves away from the path in the symbol (the 1st frame remains in place, but everything else is off the path), even though it remains correct in the main timeline.
 
And once I start editing the object in the symbol, the object returns to the path ok, as if it had been some strange display issue, but the 3D is all wrong - the vanishing point relative to the object has changed. The same thing happens whether I create the 3D path using "global" or "local" tool settings.
