hey, i'm trying to create a list by duplicating buttons, and then when these buttons are clicked, they load a movie
so far here's my script in a frame

however this doesn't work too well, the position of new buttons dont really go where they are supposed to go (which should be directly under each other). neither does the entering of the text in the new button work.
i am trying to create a list of buttons populated from an xml file they populate but i DONT want them to align with x starting at 0.[code]i want to be able to start the first buttons _x at lets say 100 or something and then space them out 30 px apart.

View 3 RepliesI have created an organizational chart for the company I work for displaying all current employees. Each contact is shown as a button that displays a 'popup' window on rollover. All of this works perfectly. What I want is to create an option to click on each button and the individuals email address be added to a dynamic text field at the bottom of the page.
Just to clarify, I am able to have text entered into the text field on each click, however, clicking on the next button removes the previous text. I want each click to create a new entry in a list. For example: "contact1; contact2; contact3;" etc etc. The end result would be for the user to copy all text (email addresses) from the dynamic text box and paste it into their Outlook "To" section.

my problem is that I want to pass a value to the button based on 'i'

Then the image name would be 0.jpg,1.jpg,2.jpg etc...I was displaying the images based on an MC

That worked but I thought it would be easier to place it in the button.(That didn't work...) I will just use the image mc but my real roblem is passing the value to the button.

ive made a simple button that sends you to the first frame. and its working good but than when i duplicate it only 1 button works i got 33 buttons and only one of them is working....

Here is the look right now top right nav working.Im trying to have the word links fade in white on mouseOver and fade to blue onpress. and fade back to normal when another button is pressed. any suggestions on how i should go about doing this?I was thinking of duplicating the arreay of buttons but have the mouse over fade in the white font array buttons on mouse over. But not sure if that would be a good idea or if it would work.

View 3 Repliesi have created some 6 -10 buttons and i want to keep these list of buttons in the scrollbar. so that a user can view only a set of 4-5 buttons at a time.i tried out the kirupa-scrollbar but when the masking is done on set of buttons all the buttons are under mask and i am unable to click any of those .i tried the UIscrollbar component, it works for the text area but not for the buttons

View 2 RepliesI have several button symbols on my stage, some of which are enabled while some are not (I enable/disable them using actionscript).I just need a way to access the "enabled" property of all the buttons on the stage so that I have an array which has the full path of enabled buttons and another for the unenabled buttons. That way, in case I have to lock the screen by disabling all the buttons, I'll know which ones to enabled once I turn them back on.

I have an external video list (array) that is set up to load and play in an FLVPlayback component. The client wants individual audio control buttons: 1) Up volume 2) mute 3) Down volume. I have AS on each of the buttons but it's not controlling the volume of any of the videos. The only one that works is the mute or "stop all sounds." I'm unsure on how to go about getting what I want.

I used attachMovie to load a movieclip from the library into the stage. And in the movieclip, it has another movieclip named "imageHolder". As I wanted the movieclip to be placed on the stage like a list of buttons. The code goes as follows:

I am trying to make a generic list control that has x buttons in it so that users can remove items from the list by clicking the x button. However, this list control needs to support item renderers while still standardizing the layout of items placed next to x buttons.
So I figure the best approach would be to extend the list control and use a renderer that draws the x button and combines that with what ever renderer the user supplies. Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to do that.
I tried overriding newInstance method from the IFactory interface and used that to create an HBox that contains my button and inserts the newInstance result from a user supplied renderer, however it wasn't complete. It displayed as I expected, but the mouse over effect only worked on the user supplied renderer portion and not the entire HBox that my custom renderer made.
I'm trying to add the btns in array "but" via stageMc.addChild(section1), but instead of tracing "section1" I get "instance1", and of course stageMc wont advance. I guess what I'm asking, is whats the diff. from a functional standpoint if I embed the clips in flash, or embed them into the stageMc clip via the display list? what am I missing? FYI, this code works, so long as i place the assets on stage myself. But I want to add the btns via the display list, and i can add them, they just instanciate wrong?

I want when i click a button it should go into ARRAY1 grab the name, then ARRAY2 grab the price and put it in a container box. If i click the same button again it should update the quantity field. Im trying to use a parent child system where when i click the button, it adds a movie clip child that contains 3 dynamic fields, to the main container and populates these fields with quantity based on how many times i click button 1 and then the name and the price will be multiplied by the quantity. If i click button 2 the same process repeats and at the end it shows the total of all items in the list.
