ActionScript 3.0 :: Horizontal List Of Thumbnails With Next And Back Buttons?
Sep 16, 2010
Gallery: horizontal list of thumbnails with next and back buttons. After any Thumnail is clicked, the image should open in large size.actually i have done when Thumnail is clicked the size is increase but i suffer in horizontal list of thumbnails .........How to move when i clicked next Button so its Moves Right side and when i clicked in back button its movie left side ..but i dont want mouse move in right side or left side then Its not play till i clicked on next or back button
I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
I'd like to dynamically load thumbnails into a horizontal movieclip at the bottom of an image gallery to then allow me to load an image by clicking the thumbnails. I found a tutorial tooad the thumbnails to the stage but I am not sure how to load them into the thumbs movieclip. Here is the code I am using:
var imageLoader:Loader;var xml:XML;var xmlList:XMLList;var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("xml/murals.xml")); xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, xmlLoaded);
I have created a portfolio with both thumbnails and next/back buttons. Both work but not together. When I click on the next/back btn it goes through the images in sequence. If I click on a thumbnail out of order then return to the next/back button it jumps to the 1st and second image. Is there a way to make these work together?
stop(); next_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextimage); var imageNumber:Number = 1; function checkNumber():void{ next_btn.visible = true; back_btn.visible = true; //If the imageNumber is = 12, then do something... if(imageNumber==12){ trace(imageNumber); [Code] ......
Anyways I am using action script 3.0 and I created multiple layers using just one scene. I created a layer with lables on them to mark where I want my buttons to point to and go to. I have the stop (); on the first frame. And I made my buttons mostly interactive with movie symbols and tweens.My first scene I have 2 doors, the user can pick which door to go to and it takes them into a different path.I made the buttons that are clicked to go forward, and then I tried to make an invisible button on the button edge of the scene to go backwards However, the PROBLEM is when I click my button to go backwards I am stuck on the first page and can't move forward.
function gotoOne(evt:Event):void{ gotoAndStop("one")}backbutton1.addEventListener("click",gotoOne); function gotoFour(evt:Event):void{
I'm working on a flash module that basically needs to offer the ability for the user to scroll through a series of thumbnails in a carousel format. I currently have the following code which is creating my thumbails horizontally which is all working fine. [code]...
I've got 3 pages each with their own portfolio loaded dynamically from an XML file. Everything is working great with the thumbnails i added using the "adding thumbnail" tutorial. There's only one quirk I can't figure out. If you've scrolled to the end of the thumbnails on the first portfolio, the scroller stays in the same place when you go to the next portfolio rather than reloading back at the beginning. I hope that makes sense because it's hard to explain, but the site is [URL] here's the partial code for the thumbnails...
I tried to add some thumbnails attributes to list component,i was using the xml vidlist however i was unsuccesfull.i thought just adding another attribute would work but it didnt .am i suppose to make an image holder i am sorta lost at this point
I've got a List component set up but some of the text exceeds the space available and so I'm trying to add a horizontal scrollbar as well as the vertical one.In the component inspector I've set the horizontal to "on" and given it a width of 200 (my component has a width of 150).However, it cannot be scrolled and I get this error message: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at AWorkingFile1_fla:: Main Timeline/baseData()Is it actually possible to get the scroll bar to work?
To fit in with my page design, yet to take advantage of the "List" component, I'd like to spread my list-labels horizontally, across the page (1 row, multiple columns). Is this possible? If not, is there a comparable component that would do the same thing; showing a row of text labels, rather than a whole set of individual buttons and all the scripting that would entail?
I've got an Horizontal List. It contains 6 XML Nodes at the moment. But what I'd like to do is remove the scrollbar so that an button can function to scroll through the nodes instead.
I need to display set of images in horizontal list. The list needs to be controlled with next and previous buttons. Moreover I need to display paging showing no of images per page below the list.
Is there an option to turn on the horizontal scroll for the list component? I have some list entries that are longer than the list is wide, so they get cut off at the end...can this be done?
I have a photo browser that I am building, and so far itlooks good. It loads in however many images are listed in an XMLdocument to thumbnails, and then opens a larger window when youclick on them. The program basically stacks the thumbnails on topof one another in a movieClip, and you scroll through with a scrollbar or by dragging the thumbnails up and down directly. My issueis, once that movieClip gets to a certain size, Flash doesn't dealwith it well. Let's say I have 100 images I want to scroll through.If I stack them all up, and they are 150 pixels high with 25 pixelspadding each side, that's a 20,000 pixels high movieClip, and thatdoesn't fly. I thought about using a list component, but I need itto scroll smoothly, and not only a cell at a time.
Do folks have any ideas on how to do this? It's really keythat it scrolls smoothly, and that it can scroll by dragging photosdirectly up and down in the viewer. It's easy now because I canhave the dragging behavior attached to the thumbnail scroll, andnot each individual image, and I can move that one movieClip,rather than tracking the position of all the images
I'm trying to develop a card game with Flex, and I was wondering if there's a way to create an horizontal list (the cards that I have in my hand) having the elements overlapped, like you can see in this example made with openflux: [URL]. The thing that's missing here is the possibility to swap the cards with drag and drop. What I could do to get a similar effect with an horizontal list based component?
wondering if there's any way to make it so that a list I have will not scroll to show the horizontal end of the items. Very few items go long enough to require it and the horizontal scrollbar is distracting.
I don't see any property to control that, though, so not sure how to achieve this.
Im creating a person search interface in Adobe Flex / Actionscript where we have an image for each person and a bit of text. Im looking to implement some like this:HorizontalList InterfaceORCarousel InterfaceBoth of these packages are unfortunately only for desktop Flex, I was wondering if anyone knew mobile flex (particularly Blackberry Playbook) alternatives?
I am working on a class for a horizontal list of thumbnails that will function as a menu. The current selected thumbnail will display in the middle with the previous and next thumbnails displayed on either side. In the screenshot shown, the standby images before and after previous and next are also displayed, although they won't be in the final result.
Here's what it looks like at the moment: Everything works apart from the animation itself. When the user clicks a left or right arrow, the thumbnails will slide left or right and change their size an opacity as well.
I have attempted to use the Tween class, but there are four clips to be animated with five tweens (the unused standby thumbnail is simply removed), amounting to a total of 20 Tween instances running simultaniously. That seems to be too heavy on the processor, so I'm exploring a different apprioach, but it dosn't seem to be going all that well.
I have a Tile List Component full of pictures,when a picture is clicked i want it to gotoandstop at the frame where I made the picture fill the page. How do I do that if I can't insert an addeventlistener for any of my thumbnails in the component? how do I make the thumbnails link to Urls and load UIs? Heres my basic code:
I'm currently making a playlist out of the component List and I want to add in thumbnails in there. The playlist shows the choice of videos that can be played.
I am using a horizontal tilelist in flex to display an image gallery with only one item in horiz. tilelist being shown at a time. I have next and previous buttons on both sides. The problem is I want to display a particular item/image in that list when user clicks on a thumb image from another thumbimages tilelist at bottom. I used someTilelist.selectedIndex property but it just selects that particular index in list, it does not show that particular item/image. I want the list to show that particular image, not just select it. Please take note that the horiz. tilelist shows only one image at time.
This seems like it should be easy, but I cannot figure out how to do this in AS3. And after pouring through several books and lots of sample projects, no one quite seems to be using this method to create galleries.The goal: A gallery with circles for buttons that, when clicked, move already loaded images into view.
I have built a widget that creates the buttons and loads the images, but how do I make a connection between one dynamically created sprite(the button) and another (the corresponding image)?When adding children, is there a way to find its reference in the display object list? The buttons are named and will trace their names when clicked, but I don't see this when I'm listing the display objects.And I'm not sure how I can use these names or provide similar names for my loaded images. (My confusion is becoming evident here --or at least clouding my mind -- so I'll just leave it at that.)BTW, I have come across several tools/players that do something similar to what I want, but I'd prefer not to use someone else's controller. (It seems like the time to code this should be less than the time to skin/understand/customize someone else's FLA/SWF.)
How can customize the horisontal position of the menubar-buttons? The ones I make always appear at x=0 of the menubar. And if I create some blank ones to sidestep the menubar, they always become small buttons with no text (they still show, though).

I still can not get a basic slideshow with the either thumbnails or prev/next buttons to work. It seems that every tutorial either assumes I downloaded the correct libraries or understand when they are using AS2 or AS3.point me to a "FOOL" proof tutorial or template..I understand the basic part of what is going on but do not know enough AS yet to hammer out the actions myself.
I need to make a XML Driven Photo slide in Flash CS5.It needs to have a Box that contains 5 Thumbnails(by XML) act as buttons.The Box sits on top of the Main photo area and shrinks (or close out) when user click its close button. And it opens out by clicking on a open button.I'm sure it can be done by using timeline, Tweening or you name it..But what about the Thumbnails that run from the XML file?Can they disappear with the Box and retrieve when it opens? is it possible? Here is the ActionScript.
I'm building an image gallery in Flash, and I've struck a problem.Here's what I have so far: A series of movie clip buttons which animate quite nicely.I want to make it so that when you click on one of the buttons, a series of thumbnails appears (I would put them all in a movieclip). Here's my code for one of the buttons:
on (rollOver) { gotoAndPlay("over"); }[code]....
When I click on that button, the thumbnails appear, but they are inside the button mc. I want to either make the "india_thumbs" mc appear in a blank mc, or make it appear in its own layer.
