ActionScript 2.0 :: Display Data In Arrays In Sequence While Click Button

i m doing a program which contain few text. When i click a button,'step 1' text will be view. When i second, 'step 2 ' text will be load out and 'step 1' text is still in the stage.. the method i m using is array.i put my text in an arrays.
Basically, I have a FLVplayer called vidPlayer and 3 dynamic text fields that put text in when they are clicked. I want to be able to keep the button clicked in the 'over' state, and to do this I believe arrays are needed? Also, an array might be easier, as there is a lot of code to sift through.

am trying to create a moibile app that displays XML data. It's basically a phone book. I want the data to change when swiped. I can get the data in just fine. I can get it to display fine. I am not seeing the correct image first, however. I think it's a problem with my imagenum variable.Then, I want to change what is displayed when the user clicks/swipes on the screen. How do I do that?

I've been learning AS3 lately and am trying to put together an interactive map. I've brought in some map data and converted it to individual movie clips, each of which has an instance name that I'd like displayed when each clip is clicked on. ideally an informational box would appear with the name of the clip and some other info that I've specified.
What do I need to script so that if one clicks on a movie clip, the instance name is displayed?
How can i on click of a <next> button display swf files one after another on a website?
I have created a few (will be a few hundreds eventually) flashcards (for leaning chinese characters), how can i make them show-up one after another on a click of a <next> button? (How to create the <next> button, where to place, how to code it, and how to make the swf files appear one after another when the button is clicked?)
Each flashcard is interactive with dozens of layers (all lasting one frame only, but there is a movie clip within a movie clip on the first frame of one of the layers (an animated clip to show *how to* write the character), it has a stop(); command in the first and last frames. And there are dozens of invisible buttons that allow the content (example words and sentences) to show up and hide on click of the buttons (all coded in AS2 i think).
Each flashcard on itself functions perfectly well when published , but i am really puzzled how could i connect all the flashcards and make them show up one after another on the click of the (yet to be created somehow) <next> button.
I've got a bit that loads a big chunk of xml data about products.I push product info into an array(e.g. productArray), then add that array to another array (e.g. allProductsArray)How do I sort those arrays? For instance, if I want to sort the allProductsArray based on the info in productArray[0]?Alternatively, would something other tha an array of arrays be a better route?This loader loads the same sort of info for many different clients, so the bit to sort on will change.
I'm currently using two arrays to load a sequence of videos in 2 zones of the Flash movie.

I have some code running a media player and pulling multiple xml lists in depending on what button is pressed. What I would like to do is display button feedback state (to show what section is being played) based a click.I am thinking that I could create a conditional statement based on last button clicked but not 100%.
I was wondering if there was a way to have a sort of output panel while testing an SWF outside of flash? I just want it to display text when I click a button on separate lines.
I got a music portfolio web site running PHP, MySQL and Flash. There's a page showing all the artists my client worked for and when you click on a song title, this title is passed as a variable to a PHP page then to a Flash page. The Flash page contains an actionscript music player which then looks for the right audio file in the database and plays the song. Everything works great except for the dynamic text field which displays the song title. If the song title contains an apostrophe or a single quote, the Flash dynamic text field then shows the apostrophe.[code]
I load a variety of swfs using the swfLoader, but most of them just display a looping image sequence. Is there a better format to use for loading files like that? (such as flv or gif)
I am trying to create a flash player to display images in sequence using Flash player & ActionScript. The code below has lots of errors and I can't work them out. I have programmed in other languages and am perfectly aware that something like this.

Flash 8, I have some XML creating a few simple arrays. These pull some movie clips onto the stage with incremented names: product1, product2 and so on. Inside these clips I have some code that is supposed to pull data from the arrays and put that data into text fields.

I'm using a data grid with an item renderer that creates a toggle button. The idea is to have a list of items and only allow one to be selected and pre-select one at start.I've got the single button selection working, meaning that when I click on on toggle button, the others are deselected.My problem is to create a way of pre-selecting an element of the data grid or simulate a click on a row and selecting the corresponding toggle button.If I use the datagrid.selectedIndex the result is a selection but the toggle button doesn't get selected.Here is the code exampleIn this example I am using the array value "selected" to define selected button, not my favourite solution but the one that worked first.The array collection:

I have an array of menu items that I'm trying to display in a sequence with a short delay between showing each item in 3 columns. Without manually creating individual text fields and putting them on many frames, how would I do this with actionscript?
I'm trying to create a shuffle button for my mp3 player. I don't want it to repeat any song in the xml playlist until all the songs are played. Is there to display a random number on the click of a button, without repeating any number in the array until all the numbers in the array are used?
This is the edit to my question. There is quite a bit of code here, but the problem area is below the second set of three line comments. I stuck the rest in just in case I'm completely wrong about where the problem is. With the "if" statement I can display fine in a run, but not in debug. If I get rid of the conditional it runs fine in debug, but not in a regular run. These errors only occur on the first run of the quiz. In either mode it runs fine fi I take a second quiz.

Lets say i have a button on frame 1. And if you press it normal, you ll get to frame 2. But then if you click it on another way, you ll get to frame 3. How do i do that easy?! With another way i mean like shift click or ctrl click or is it an easier way?
I'm trying to display strings stored in arrays with a for loop, i could just write out each array like:[code]but it only displays the last one, is there a way to display it from 1-10, or 1-any number?

What I have here are three buttons that when clicked a new clip is added to the stage with a predefined position which means that when button1 is clicked the MovieClip will be added at the very top and when button2 is clicked the MovieClip will be added at second and when button3 is clicked the clip will be added at the very bottom, but what I would like to do is to be able to dynamically position these objects based on how many clips exist, in other words if button3 is clicked first, I want the clip to be positioned at the very top and if later button1 is clicked the clip is positioned
Accordantly (at second place). I know this may be simple, in fact I could probably use a few IF statements but I know the code would look ugly (yes, even more) and I may have add more buttons later. What I would be awesome is to some-how use arrays or something that makes more sense to hold the MovieClips and then display them accordingly.
I have Flash var array that I want to swap for another array on mouse click. It currently loads the initial array into the empty MC perfectly. Now I need it to swap to var productTxt2 when the user presses buttonMC. My code is below.

I have a piece of code worked out that creates circles on a mouseDown function. I'm trying to save the x and y cords of the circles but cannot figure out a way around this. I need to save multiple instances of the cords from mouseDown.
