View 1 RepliesI currently have an small animation job that involves an enormous zoom out. To do this I need to scale the symbol containing all the animation out in the main timeline, from extremely close to quite far away.
I have two problems that are preventing me from doing this satisfactorily.
Firstly, the transform panel doesn't work. Specifically, entering scale values only seems to work beween 0 and 100%, anything larger gives unpredictable results.
Second, the symbol has become too large for the work area (I have zoomed out as far as I can go) - how can this area to spread out to the whole of the graphic editing area, instead of the third of it that is on the left side?
For example, I have used the Free Transform tool and scaled the item up 2500%, and now it's too big for the limited work area. To scale it further, or scale it back, I need to enter scale amounts into the Transform panel. After doing this, the figures I enter turn into arbitrary other values and my symbol either warps or disappears entirely.
Ideally, I should be able to look at the stage itself, click on the symbol, scale it in the Transform panel to 3000% and be done with it.
I have a canvas,lets say of dimensions 500x600. I have some controls inside that canvas.User can rearrange the controls by drag and drop. But I want to restrict the drag and drop within that canvas. For example: There is a button in the canvas. User can drag and drop the button anywhere inside the canvas.But if the user tries to drag the button out of the canvas boundaries, it should stick in the canvas boundary. How to achieve this?
View 2 RepliesI'm developing a web app using Flex. This app allows to draw forms in a Canvas (like MSPaint in Windows).Now, I want a new feature on it: an infinite canvas. The user should be able to drag the main Canvas and this should be infinite in X and Y axis. Consecuently, this Canvas should be resized in real time.
Obviously, I don't want to create a Canvas of 1k x 1k pixels with zoom in an specific area to give the feeling of an infinite drawing area.
EDIT:I just read that Flash/Flex Flash/Air supports canvases up to 4056x4056 px, not infinite.
I would like to have that the height of a canvas change automatically. When there are a lot of labels and images in my canvas, the height must increase. And when there are just a few labels in the canvas, the height must decrease.
In fact i want something like in CSS:

View 1 RepliesI am loading an external swf using the SWFLoader component. The swf that is being loaded is masked so that only a portion is being shown. However, when it's loaded the actual size of the swf (loader.content.width/loader.content.height) is the complete swf including the masked area. Therefore, the loaded swf does not display properly in the itemrenderer Is there a way to to grab the size of the just the masked area as opposed to getting the size of the entire swf's contents? also i need to re size the masked area

View 1 RepliesIn many cases the pieces have artifacts outside of their visible area. For example, a piece can have a picture of a dog's face, but one of the long ears is off to the side, outside the visible region of the piece. The path data is extremely detailed, so our designers didn't crop it off. They used a mask (at least I think it's a mask, I'm not a graphics guy and know little about that stuff) and this makes it invisible in Flash, when we turn them into movie clips. Also, in Flash when I look at the width and height of the piece, it does reflect only the visible area.However, in ActionScript when I try to get the width and height using, for example

I want to dynamically add different items to thumbContent canvas and use scroller canvas to scroll. I see than the height of thumbContent bigger than 7977 it truncate from scrolling. So - I see the scroller canvas with empty space on top. Then I scroll to bottom - I see the content of thumbContent and at bottom scrolling I see empty space too.
I'm trying to skin a canvas with an image (which is essentially a custom border for the canvas). I've been trying the backgroundImage style as well as the borderSkin style. I can't get the image to scale to the full size of the canvas though. I was wondering what the best way to go about this is.[code]...

We know that the function gotoAndStop(frame2); works in multiple situations which means the first 3 line is fine. I don't know if the problem is the MOUSE_LEAVE event or this.stage which i suppose is the identifier for the canvas. I sure that there must be an alternative code for the identifier this.stage or the whole code. Any solution on how to fire the given function in the event when the cursor leaves the canvas?
i have a drop down menu am working on and each button tab (although they are not button instances !) when clicked opens up the "drop down" section which you can mouse over to choose another specific button etc - if you mouse out of that drop down area then it pulls back up to the original tab state .. what do i change to the code below to decrease the area that you mouse out of to make the drop down area pull back .....at the moment it at least two inches on the screen below and to the right of boundaries of the drop down box before it pulls up - i want to it pull up as the mouse leaves the boundary box .... hope this makes sense .... there is some part of the actionscipt below that controls this but can work out which bit and how to change it !!! (am guessing the x mouse and y mouse bits - but how to change it ???)

It can get bitmap from the target object, but it seem don't get all the area of the image.
By give the width and height of target object, but the target object in design was applied by Glow Effect, so my question can we get the all view of bitmapdata from a displayobject?
I have a movie clip named circle_mc(see the image on the link below) and a mask object(movie clip) which determines visible area of the circle. User can change the portion which is visible (extend the red area and make it red+blue, gray area is invisible). I need to find proportion of visible area to invisible area (red+blue/gray) so that I can calculate angle.
View 1 RepliesI would like to first add the xml to my flash. Fine I can do this.But I have a number of buttons, where when I click say CW1, i get the information from the XML file with a node of CW1. I have all the xml set up fine.As I have about eight different postcode types.
ST, CW, CH, TF, WV, WS, DE, SK, SY, and each of these may have numbers that follow, i.e ST1, ST2, ST3 and so forth.
So I can only assume that the postal area could be the main nodes, and the numbers inside the child nodes, am I right thus far.o how can i load the area of the xml file into my text area on mouse click, pulling the information relating.

I've tried several software to change the video dimensions but as far as it seems all of them keep the same height-width ratio than in the original video. Is there any software that would allow me to change the height and width without keeping the same height/width ratio as in the original video file?

The component's children are populated from a database table using a repeater, and are basic checkboxes. There are enough of them that the flex app ends up being about twice the height of the screen, which means some of the rest of the layout goes crappy on me. How can I force the component that contains these to limit itself to the size of the viewport?

By default the height of an Flex Accordion container is the height of the initially selected child. I'd like to be able to set the height to the tallest child so that no resizing or scrolling is necessary when other children are selected. I do not want to use the resizeToContent property. I want the size of the container to stay constant no matter what child is selected.
My current thought is to extend the accordion class setting the creation policy to "all" and then override the measure function to loop through all the children and find the tallest one and use that for the height. This seems a little kludgy though, so I'd like to know if there is a better approach. Ultimately my question is: is there a way to set the size of an accordion container such that the container never resizes and scoll bars are never necessary to display any of the children?
I try to do a gallery(not important right now) bar that expand when the mouse over it, and back to normal when the mouse get out. I used AS3. There is frame 1, 5 and 10, when 1 and 10 is the normal/small sized bar, and 5 is the big one. As you guessed, 1->5 and 5->10 connected in motion tween, and the layer goes as a loop. I'm using one of the resizeable image gallery's found on this site.It works great for me, but i have one problem.. I can't really expand it now.I use a frame where i load all the thumbnails for the images. 12 thumbnails will fit in that frame, not more. I want to create it like this: if i load more then 12 thumbnails, a link(a nr) will come automatically at the bottom of that frame. If i will click that link i will see the other thumbnails... In case there are more then 24 thumbnails a third link (nr 3) will come... and so on.the problem is that i havent got the slightest idea how to achieve this
