May 17, 2011I created a basic flash movie for a client's site. The only action script code that I used in my file is a stop command to stop the movie from looping. My question is why don't my flash animation works when I use LIVE VIEW IN Dreamweaver. or when I preview my site in a browser .the only thing that will display is a huge white box. The flash animation will load up from (Flash Professional) when I do a publish preview but when I insert my flash into Dreamweaver and use live view my flash don't show ...just a white box.

Oct 31, 2010I'm trying to create a small flash-app, which needs to run as big as possible on the browser. For example regexr and Grooveshark work this way. However, if I use the File -> Publish Settings and there set the width and height 100%, it resizes to full browser, but... When I use stageHeight and stageWidth, they don't change. I only have one frame in my animation, so should I fire a eventListener for something like "resize"?

Oct 14, 2009I tried to search for tutorials here at Kirupa but it seems I keep on bumping on a dead end. I have a problem with a video clip I imported to my flash movie. When I am on the editing screen, I can see that there is a TOOL BAR below the movie. But when I publish it, it doesn't show anything at all in the browser. The movie then is not preloaded. And by the way, I placed a preloader at the beginning of the frame but it seems that the movie is not preloaded so it jitters as it plays frame by frame. [URL]

Feb 16, 2008I have a full-flash site which is fixed size, most controls and assets are added to the stage at runtime, the aligment is set to center, and it is embedded in html with 100% width and height - you can visit www.janelaurie.com to get a better picture of what I mean.Everything here is working perfectly, but I would like to add some stuff to the very edges of the browser and I cannot find the values that I need and its driving me crazy. I've added a listener to the stage.resize and stage.stageWidth / stage.stageHeight are giving the correct values but obviously that is not enough, I also need the coordinates of the top left corner which should be negative something - but I cannot find those values anywhere. I've tried getRect and getBounds but they don't work obviously as they only measure the full contents of the stage.
The only solution I can think of at this point is to set my stage.align to topleft, but that would mean i need to readjust the entire app and all of the main controls etc. are directly on the stage and I really do not want to change all that. All I need are two numbers, the coordinates of the top left corner of the stage in the resize event of the stage, is there anyway of retrieving that?

Jun 2, 2011I have a full-browser background slideshow. To do this, I'm using some AS in conjunction with the handy dandy swffit. I would like to ensure that the slideshow scales appropriately with the browser window size (as it is currently doing), but I would lilke the location of my logo, which is in the lower left hand corner, to remain fixed so that it is not pushed out of view when the browswer gets scaled to a small size.
