creating a flip-book in flash (using AS3) . I've looked at the other flip-book programs and editors out there, and none really give the customization that my company wants.I have something working, but the page scoping seems to be off. The pages will turn back and forward with a button click but they flip out of order. However, it all runs fine with no error when the user clicks on the pages themselves. This is the code from the main timeline (where I'm getting an error).

I seem to be able to increase the number in the variable, this creates more pages when I preview the project, but brings up some errors. Even when the pages are created, they are blank I'm not sure where i create the content for them? in their own movie? then where do i drop them?

View 3 RepliesI basically want there to be a series of externally sourced pictures displayed like pages of a book, each viewed one at a time. I want to be able to move between them with the left and right arrow keys. I also would like a variety of different transitions but for now I'm just working on one. In short I have the following on my root frame:

Then frame three plays through a tweened transition till frame 13 that simply contains:

From 14 to 22 is exactly the same but a transition for a page turn in the other direction. When it loads it just loads with page1 and then nothing works. (By the way, for those who look at the project file, I know the images aren't loading in the right places but I'm gonna get to that once I've got this problem sorted).
I am new to the site and was wondering if there is some kind of actionscript that will automatically make the pages of a book turn like in castlevania lord of shadows opening.
View 0 RepliesI have successfully added a Google Map Flash API using AS3 to page turning software that I use but the issue is when I upload it to the server online the Google Map stops all other swf files from working within the book when I turn a page. The map works fine online but removes two pages either side of where the map is placed. Anybody know why this is happening and any solution on how to get it working? Everything within the page turning software works fine when I test it locally so the issue is online somewhere. Maybe I could use something that stops the map from working when the page is changed?

I've run the code, it's cool, I'd like to use the transition mechanism they created (beginning on page 411). In the middle of the code a .png is called up from the directory. But I have my own .jpg on the already on the stage, and I'd like to apply this book's

I am using that has action frames.It is a photo album template that allows me to turn pages by clicking my mouse in the lower corner and dragging it across.If I copy frame 5 and past it as frame 8 and I change the image on frame 8 it also changes the image in frame 5.Here is the script below from the 9th frame:

I don't know if an engine is made in AS3, PHP, Javascript, or whatever,I made my game already, it's just that it isn'tmultiplayer yet. Basically, there are lines, and each player crosses out a number of lines, and the last player to cross out a line is the loser. I want it where one user crosses out some lines, then presses End Turn, then the other does their turn and then presses End Turn to allow the other player to move his cursor. But how can I get both players to see the same frame and only have one player have the ability to move the cursor during a turn? View 5 RepliesI'm trying out a page-flip program that tells me to create the pages as jpegs within a folder named "pages" in the Library. When I try to run it, it tells me it can't find the jpegs. I can get it to work locally by including the full URL (i.e., "...My Documentsedinnerpartiesimagesp3-large.jpg), but I know this isn't embedded in the swf file.

View 4 RepliesWhen I use the code below it works fine and loads the CSS-file and shows the the html-textarea as it should be CSS-formatted. BUT when I try to put the SAME code into a movieclip within another fla-movie it does not work (loads text but not css) and I get un "undefined" all the time. After trying a lot of different things I've come to the conclusion that it MIGHT have soemthing to do with the .onLoad that gets "undefined" in some way. As you can see below I'm getting two vars from input textfields and then use a button to activate the function loadCSS().

Like any of it's simple, but here's what I've got...I'm doing my loadVars, everything's going peachy, but now I want to swap the variable. I've got a bunch of vars in a text file, and here's how I'm doing it right now...

Im making my first flash game so forgive me if there is anything with my actionscript or my explaining that is messed up.
This game is a 4 player (<--will be) tank game that fires bullets and stuff. so far its working just how i want it to apart from one thing... the duplication for the bullet. This snippet of the script is the bit that should make the bullet firing. if you look at these to bits of script "_root.depth += 1;", "duplicateMovieClip(_root.bullet, "bullet"+depth, depth);" to my understanding the "depth" should increase BUT it doesn't? does anyone know what is going on?

the problem is that clip1clone is not generated. I think it has to do something with path, I have to add somehow a path to clip1clone? I tried 0 instead of u-1 but it didnt work so I guess the problem is with path?
smooth out this scrolling text script. It works perfect but its not smooth. (keyframes are up at 45fps) I know I can just call the function quicker but it's just not the effect im lookin for. I want a steady smooth look to it.

I'm attempting to create an effect system that will allow for motion blurs and a variety of other effects.My attempt to create this system is by using a series of movie clips that are duplicates of a main movie clip, each a snapshot slightly farther back in time.This doesn't work, as I think I may be lacking some fundemental understanding of how clip duplication works.Below is code that should be creating a duplicate clip, 10 frames behind in time. The clip exists but the sub-clip isn't attached.

I have two class files that extend to movieclips......one targets _root.scrolling_mc, the other _root.messages_mc. I have multiple movieclips throughout the presentation with instance names scrolling_mc and messages_mc. This is where it gets interesting. After navigating from a scene with scrolling_mc to a scene with messages_mc, some of the behaviour of the scrolling_mc is still triggering. Its almost as if both class files are working side by side.
