Animation :: Text To Move To The Upper-right Corner And Turn Black Gradually ?

Aug 23, 2009

I just got Flash CS4 yesterday. This is the first time I have ever used Flash. I watched some tutorials and now I'm trying to do something on my own. I want some text against a white background to start out white in the lower-left corner. During the animation I want the text to move to the upper-right corner and turn black gradually as it goes. What I did was this:

created an actionscript 3 file

Made some white text at the bottom-left

Right clicked at the 90th frame on the timeline and clickedInsert KeyFrame

Right clicked between the 1st and 90th frames and clicked Create Classic Tween.

At the 90th frame I moved the text to the upper right. Then I clicked on proprties and set the text effect to brightness and set the brightness to 0 so the text would be black.When I hit enter to go through the timeline it shows me exactly what I expected: The text moves from lower left to upper right and gets darker as it goes.

When I hit Ctrl+Enter to preview it as a published movie the text stays white the whole time until it gets to the upper right. There it turms black. So all I see is nothing for a few seconds and then a flash of the black text.Also, if I click at each frame in the timeline I can see the text is in a different place and getting brighter gradually.I'd like it to play once rather than looping. Under the effects I clicked on a thing that says play once but it still loops. Where do you control this?

ActionScript 3 :: Clicking And Dragging Through Frames On Stage

Mar 15, 2011

I have a frame-by-frame animation. I want to be able to click and drag on the stage back and forth and traverse through the animation. I.e. I want to click and drag from left to right to make the animation go forwards and right to left to make the animation go backwards. How would I achieve this? I am making an assumption that there will be some maths involved in calculating mouse position and traversing to the correct frame, but how would I do this?

IDE :: FLV Video Scrubber - Clicking And Dragging Left Or Right

Jun 8, 2007

I am playing flv files on a site. The way I am bring them is via the import video from the library (not using flv component). I am loading the videos via using netStream. So far so good. Everything works fine. I want to be able to scrub through the video by clicking and dragging left or right on the video itself. I plan to make the mouse cursor turn into a symbol that has a left and right arrow when you roll over the video hence letting you know that you can click and drag left or right to forward or rewind through the video. IS this possible? If so, how can I accomplish this?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Making A Movie Clip Rotate In 3D Space By Clicking And Dragging

May 19, 2009

So far my logic seems fine for half of the experiment, however, not the other half:[URL] What I'm trying to accomplish is when a user holds down the mouse and drags it across the stage the movie clip will rotate in 3D space horizontally. That works, however, when the mouse is released the movie continues to rotate along with the mouse position. When the movie clip is clicked again then it will stop rotating, but it cannot be clicked and dragged a second time. The link above explains it the best. Also I want to make it so the movie will start to rotate when the mouse is down anywhere on the stage and not just the mc itself.

mySound.loadSound("sommeu.mp3",true);

Flash At Lower Z Level Masks Mouse Events?

Sep 14, 2009

I have a web site with an intro movie playing in the page's header.

The SWF playing the FLV with sound is in a division that is placed at a lower Z level. On top of the SWF, at a higher Z level, is a png image of my header containing an oval transparent window. This image acts as a skin sitting on top of my movie. The movie and sound play inside the oval window fine. I have other reasons for this approach as opposed to integrating the whole header image into the SWF.

The issue is I have no mouse control over the SWF because it is at a lower Z level. The mouse events are blocked by the transparent image window that sits on top.

I want to add a sound volume control to my movie. The control can sit either inside the oval area, or outside somewhere else on the page.

I would prefer to control the volume using another SWF that sits at the normal Z level where the mouse can work. Can one SWF control another?

Other alternatives might be to use Javascript, or even HTML image tags to control my SWF.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Lower .swf File Affecting Mouse On Top Level .swf?

Feb 19, 2010

I have a zooming map .swf file loading in behind a navigation button interface .swf. The map.swf turns your mouse to a hand cursor so you can pan when you zoom in on it.Eveb though the map file is behind my nav file,when I roll over my nav file, the mouse is still turning to a hand cursor. Is there any way around this? The only time it turns to an actually pointer is when it rolls over the actual buttons on the nav file, so the mouse flickers back and forth between the hand and the pointer.How can I get the lower .swf to not effect the .swf on top?

Actionscript 3.0 :: Turn "Off" Other MCs By Clicking On A Different MC?

Sep 12, 2009

I have three movie clips, and created a class called "Grow" that makes them grow and change color (really just jump to new movie frame) when clicked. That all works fine, but I would like to make it so when the user clicks on another movie clip, the one that has "grown" scales back down to its original size (1.0), and goes back to its original color (gotoAndStop(1);).This is a very common thing for flash users to do, but I am a self-taught person who would like to do this dynamically in a class rather than a ton of clunky code on the main. Here is the code that I have so far. It works, but it doesn't yet get me to click on other movie clips to make the "ON" or big MC shrink back to its original size:

package{
import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;

ActionScript 3.0 :: Select All MCs By Dragging Mouse?

Jul 14, 2009

I want to set it up so that, like Illustrator and Visio and other such apps, I can click and drag my mouse over all railroad pieces that I want to move together. I have set up my display objects so that they have an 'active' and an 'inactive' state, and any that are active will move along with the mouse. So, I click and drag to select, then I click again and drag to move all objects I selected.How do I code this such that all display objects that fall within the rectangle swept out by my mouse_down cursor become active?I would like to name the property of my movie clips 'selected' rather than 'active', but that's one of those parameters that becomes blue when you type it. I'm not savvy on this -- can i somehow override Flash's use of 'selected' and use mine instead?

Flex :: FSprites Don't Stop Dragging On MOUSE-UP

Feb 28, 2011

I have Sprites that I want to have move around when I click and hold them and stop when I release them. I have methods that add Event listeners to the Sprites:[code]My problem is: when I click on the Sprites, as soon as I move the cursor, the Sprite's registration point snaps to the cursor, and when I release the mouse the Sprite doesn't stop following the cursor. I initially thought it was a problem with pixel collision. I thought the cursor wasn't touching anything on MOUSE_UP, but that proved to be false after I experimented. I even replicated the exact same Event adding and handling methods by starting another project and found that I wasn't having this problem. The test Sprite was simply dragging and dropping like usual, not snapping to the registration point, and being dragged by the point I clicked.

The only difference I can see, and also my only suspicion, is that the Sprites in my original code are being added to a Sprite, which is then being added to the stage, whereas the Sprite in the test project is being added to the root DisplayObject. I'm thinking that somehow the Event propagating down to the container Sprite and dragging and dropping that without dropping the other Sprite. The weird snapping I'm seeing might be the cursor snapping to the object behind the other sprite. Another important thing: when I drop a Sprite on top of another Sprite, that Sprite stops moving like I want it to, but still trails the registration point.

Actionscript 3 :: Mouse Over While Dragging Object In Flash CS5?

I have a project with Flash Professional CS5 and ActionScript 3.

I need to trigger an event when I drag an object over a particular spot, but haven't dropped it yet. Then, I need to trigger a different event when I leave that spot (still dragging). However, this should only occur while I am dragging on object.

The traditional mouse over and mouse leave events aren't working while dragging (only while not dragging).
