ActionScript 2.0 :: Get The Day, Date And Month Values And Switch Them To Get The Text Equivilent?

I have this huge thing of actionscript (See below) which I wrote my self and unsurprisingly it has some problems, it is meant to get the day, date and month values and switch them to get the text equivilent of that integer. Well not exactly it gets the day right at least but then it gave me the 3th (Try to pronounce that) of " " month. I am stuck? Here is the AS

I need to be able to compare the number of whole days between two dates in ActionScript, is this possible? I'd like to test if one date is 7 days or less after today, and if so is it one day or less (if it's before today this also counts).The workaround I have in place is using the .time part of the date field:
// Get the diffence between the current date and the due date
var dateDiff:Date = new Date();
dateDiff.setTime (dueDate.time - currentDate.time);[code].....
As I say - this is only a workaround, I'd like a permanent solution to allow me to check the number of whole days between 2 dates. Is this possible?

Example :

I am trying to find a way to use the date object to check the day of the month. If is the 23rd then play if not, do nothing. I looked at the date countdown tutorial, but I don't need to display the information just check the date. even if I hid the countdown info, once I hit the 23rd I am out of luck till the first of the next month, the "alarm" stays. Think of what I need as a date alarm, if it is the 23rd the alrm goes off, if it is not, then it is business as usual (this is tied into an analog clock that is supposed to have a monthly reminder for the 23rd). Getting the clock to work was cake, but I just can't get this "alarm" to work for me.

Any way to get the full time in one parameter? I need to get the date, month and year, I tried the get.date, get.month, and get.fullyear but doesn't work for me, cuz im creating a calendar with different text in every day of the year but I need to hide the text from today and on, and show the text from today to past. I've got a little script that scales a video to the stage. The scaleing function has a switch statement to indicate what kind of scaling to apply.
If I declare the case value of the switch statement internally all is fine. However if I load this value from an XML doc, even though the trace indicated the value has loaded, the switch never fires.

Is there a way to detect if a dynamic text field that has basic english characters embedded can't display some foreign text, japanese for example?
So I can then switch the text to display in an arial device font text field.

I have a XML file with a few concert dates. In my flash/AS3 file, I would like to show only the up coming event, relative to current date. Like this:

how to get some text to change based on the date of the users pc.What I am trying to do is when the swf file is opened a header section displays a different quote for each day of the year.The list of quotes will be stored in the AS3 and not pulled from an external file.I have worked how to dtermine the current date. I'm trying to determine the difference in time between todays date and a future date. I only need to determine how many months and days it is between todays date and this future date. Anyone know of any prebaked scripts anywhere for determining what todays date is and subtracting it from the end date would be? [code]So if today's date is less then the end date I'd like to determine how many months and days are left until the end date is reached and display the number of months and days until that end date.
