I need to display something on my program just for one month. For example from the 1/25 to 2/25 I need to display something but at midnight on the 2/25 the the element has to disappear. I need to create a function to do that but I have no idea how to check the date. a lot
View 3 RepliesI am trying to find a way to use the date object to check the day of the month. If is the 23rd then play if not, do nothing. I looked at the date countdown tutorial, but I don't need to display the information just check the date. even if I hid the countdown info, once I hit the 23rd I am out of luck till the first of the next month, the "alarm" stays. Think of what I need as a date alarm, if it is the 23rd the alrm goes off, if it is not, then it is business as usual (this is tied into an analog clock that is supposed to have a monthly reminder for the 23rd). Getting the clock to work was cake, but I just can't get this "alarm" to work for me.

View 4 RepliesI am experiencing a very strange behavoiour of Flex Date object. My web service is written in .Net 3.5 and all object which I am retriving or updating have Creation Date (Date Type) in .Net code.
But when I am calling .Net web service and displaying data in Flex, Flex displaying a different Date than what stored in web service. When I update my object using Flex UI, every time update time is very different than actual update time set by .Net code.
how I would go about to accomplish the following:
There should be 3 dropdown menus with predefined words
1. First menu has 3 predefined options
2. The second dropdown has 5 options.

I am testing files for a project and am wondering if it's possible to print out to the screen what time it was COMPILED, so I can then create a build number. I can't use get date or anything like that, becauise it will update at runtime. I need it to, once set, stay in place, so I then know exactly which version I am looking at. At the moment, I'm using parent.@name != "root", where name is just an attribute, but shouldn't I be able to check the type of element as well? How? Can anyone offer any insight into how to check if a file is newer and then down load MC/swfs from external connection (i.e. website) for use with projectors, or in that case swf? I know it's possible with Swf Studio or the like, just wondering if it's poss with flash alone.

Is there a way with AS3 and flash player 10+ to check the modified date / time of a file? I'd like the swf to see if the local file has changed since it last checked. If it has, load the new data and go from there. An outside source is writing that new xml file and it could be a few seconds to days or weeks before it's updated again.

View 2 RepliesI have flash where there is a link for song download. And, at the bottom of the flash I've a count, loaded thorugh flash vars which should increment everytime donload button is hit. Please let me know what approach should i take to do that. can i call a Java method on donload button which will insert a row in the table and and then get the count and render it to the count variable in my flash?
