Flex :: Actionscript 3 :: Pass Text Values From Text Inputs To Main Component
Feb 15, 2010
I use a popup loaded from different MXML file:[code]The problem is I don't know how to pass text values from text inputs to the main component after buttonOK is clicked in the popup. I tried custom events, but it didn't work.url...
I have a custom component which contains many promptingTextInput controls. When i click a button, I want the text field of all the promptingTextInputs to become blank. (Note: I have around 60 promptingTextInputs) How do i access the controls dynamically ? I am looking for a flex equivalent of $('input[type=text]') (like in jquery).
I've created a form-like input to receive user input in the form of text in a frame. Now, I would like to pass that input into an external text file. I hope to get help to implement this. Let's assume that this app will be only used locally and not over the web.
I have a mxml component with a datagrid listing project names and code versions. I have the selected projects from the datagrid binded to a public variable named "selectedProjects". But how to access this variable in another mxml component. I want the selected project's name in that component's text area. I even created an instance of the first component and using that called the selectedProjects variable. But I do not get the value updated in the text area.
This is the code for the first component where I get the selected projects name in a variable:
I want to create a table like structure in Flex, with labels as header. The rows entries might be a check box or a text input box,Like give below.[code]Or can I create a data grid and have text input boxes or check boxes as column values?
I created a somewhat custom Spark button by doing the File > New > MXML skin and basing it on spark.components.button. The problem is that I need to add an extra text field to the button component and dynamically change that text...but of course, the property isn't recognized on a Spark Button.
Is there a simple way to add this field to my custom button skin & its property so it can be addressed? If not, is there a simple way to take what I've done and just extend the Spark Button? I can't seem to find any examples that show how to do it without writing it all up in ActionScript.
I have 4 dynamic text boxes which duplicates the text from a main input text box. How do I write a code to make visible only the dynamic text box I want when clicked it's check box.What is the CODE to make each "DYNAMIC TEXTBOX" visible when clicked on it's checkbox?
I am trying to create a quote estimator on my website. I want to create forms in flash that can take inputs (numbers) from the user and then automatically calculate the values by mutliping certain forms and and then totaling them up.
The total value does not need to be saved. No database is required.
I have a form with 3 input fields: Name, Email Address, and Contact Number. These have the following instance names: iFullname, iEmail, iContact When the user clicks submit, I need to store this data and then call it later into another form. There are 3 input fields with the same instance names as the first form.This form is in an external movie loaded into the main movie where the original data was stored.
I need the user to type something into a text block anything at all they just have to type something.If they wright something into the text block then the button should be able to play.Here is what I have but it does not work.
on(release) { if(_root.text == " ") { stop// if the text box is just a space // do nothing } else { this.gotoAndPlay("37");} }
I made all the corrections in my code and got a working one. But what I really want to do is not adding texts into one text field. I need to get the numbers which is written by users into text boxes and then use their inputs to make some calculations. (Like 3+6=9 ). When I assign numbers to variables Ican easily make calculations but what I really want is not that. the numbers should be entered by these text boxes. I think need to change "string" to "number" but when I do this I get error message. I am planning to use the calculation result in some other part of my code. I am wondering if using "return" function useful for me to get the number (the result) of calculation?
I'm trying to pass text from an input text in frame 1 to a dynamic text field in frame 10. Thus when the user enters text and clicks the submit button it takes them to frame 10 and shows them what they typed. It's not working but I'm not getting any errors. Here's the link:
Is there a way to pass the textfield A text to a dynamic text input (flash) as I'd like to use the font embedding flash offers. I can make it work when loading a value from a txt file but I'm not sure how to access the value identified above as KitGroupID_16_TextOption_38 and make it appear in a dynamic input box. Eventually I might want to have 3 font choices for the user but I'd like to just see if I can get this working properly first.
I am currently creating an application with multiple pages. These pages have several textInput instances on which the user enters data into. There is a final page that asks the user to confirm the data they have entered which is a page full of dynamic text fields that should display the previously entered data. What I need to do is, to be able to pass whatever is entered into my textInput instances and pass that data to my dynamic text fields to be displayed as text on that final confirmation page.
If you have two textareas, one has a rotation value besides 0 and the other has no rotation value or a value of 0 and you 'tab' focus from the one w/rotation to the one w/out. The border around the textArea w/out rotation will be rotated. If you set the rotation value of the non-rotated text field to a non-zero number, even 0.01, it fixes the problem, this causes tons of other problems in text rendering though so its not a solution.
I found setting the focusThickness style to 0 removes the border, which is a good solution but not a great one, anybody got a better one? Here is some sample code:
I have an empty textbox with the basic scroll bar component. Nothing is in the text box so the arrows are greyed out on the scrollbar. I have a button that loads text into the textbox, but the component does not update itself to accomodate text that is larger than the text box.
how can I make it so that the scrollbar changes when text is added.....also If I put text in the text box in flash, when I publish it gets the scrollbar fine, but it will not adjust itself when I click on the button that loads different text into the text box. what happens is the scroll bar stays the same regardless on the size of the loaded text.
I want to send some text value to my custom popup window when it pops up from main application which is having some text input and also I want to know how to retrieve data(of text input) which entered by a user in popup window.
I'm playing around with a messaging type of application. Does anyone know how, or of any tutorials on to "appending" html text to text areas in flex and flex mobile projects? And specifically how I could take that and basically "append" a sprite inline to the text when i need to? Something simple like:Username: some text right here!So, Anyone have any experience "appending" sprites or simple text formatting?how to solve these issues!EDIT:Based on an answer below it was sugguested that it's as simple as...textAreaInstance.htmlText += "<b>Username:</b> some text right here!";But its not. you can't do .htmltext with a text area. you can on a text field, so i tried
var TF:TextField = new TextField(); TF.width = 200; TF.height = 200;
I want to make a search button on my site. I have a bunch of pdf files in a specific location on my site. I want to create a search field where the end user inputs text into a field and flash locates and opens the corresponding pdf file.
How do I get corner radius on my TextInput component in Flex 4. <s:TextInput prompt="username" width="150" maxChars="100" id="txt_username" color="#000000"/>
