I am trying to create a quote estimator on my website. I want to create forms in flash that can take inputs (numbers) from the user and then automatically calculate the values by mutliping certain forms and and then totaling them up.
The total value does not need to be saved. No database is required.
I use a popup loaded from different MXML file:[code]The problem is I don't know how to pass text values from text inputs to the main component after buttonOK is clicked in the popup. I tried custom events, but it didn't work.url...
I want to create a table like structure in Flex, with labels as header. The rows entries might be a check box or a text input box,Like give below.[code]Or can I create a data grid and have text input boxes or check boxes as column values?
I have a custom component which contains many promptingTextInput controls. When i click a button, I want the text field of all the promptingTextInputs to become blank. (Note: I have around 60 promptingTextInputs) How do i access the controls dynamically ? I am looking for a flex equivalent of $('input[type=text]') (like in jquery).
What I would like to do is add a paragraph of text describing each photo in a different text field. Im not really sure how I would do this. I assume I would add another txt field in flash and set it to dynamic. I would then give it an instance name. Im not sure how I would implement it into the xml or AS though. I know its quite simple but ive been trying for awhile now.
ActionScript Code: function loadXML(loaded) { if (loaded) { xmlNode = this.firstChild;
I have a form with 3 input fields: Name, Email Address, and Contact Number. These have the following instance names: iFullname, iEmail, iContact When the user clicks submit, I need to store this data and then call it later into another form. There are 3 input fields with the same instance names as the first form.This form is in an external movie loaded into the main movie where the original data was stored.
I need the user to type something into a text block anything at all they just have to type something.If they wright something into the text block then the button should be able to play.Here is what I have but it does not work.
on(release) { if(_root.text == " ") { stop// if the text box is just a space // do nothing } else { this.gotoAndPlay("37");} }
I made all the corrections in my code and got a working one. But what I really want to do is not adding texts into one text field. I need to get the numbers which is written by users into text boxes and then use their inputs to make some calculations. (Like 3+6=9 ). When I assign numbers to variables Ican easily make calculations but what I really want is not that. the numbers should be entered by these text boxes. I think need to change "string" to "number" but when I do this I get error message. I am planning to use the calculation result in some other part of my code. I am wondering if using "return" function useful for me to get the number (the result) of calculation?
For some reason, if you add an image to htmlText, like the following: myText.htmlText = "<img src='"+dataProvider.bodyImage.getUrl('original')+"' align='left' />" + dataProvider.bodyText; The image will be successfully added to the htmlText, but it seems to measure the sizes completely wrong. At times, the actual text (dataProvider.bodyText) will have part 'hidden' under the image. At other times, there are anywhere from 1 to 4 lines cut off at the bottom. However, if you select the text and drag your mouse down, you can see the bottom lines. It appears the text is all there, but the mx:Text component is not including the image in the textHeight, so it doesnt resize the componenet to the correct size.
I am trying to implement find functionality in my application and for this I am trying to open a find popup based on keyboard inputs like F3 or CTRL + F. But on F3, instead of going to event listener, it opens up the default find toolbar of the Internet Explorer instead. how I could bypass it and use f3 in my application?
Another thing is how do I capture CTRL + F in flex?
private function keyPressed(evt:KeyboardEvent):void { if (evt.keyCode == Keyboard.F3) {
I want to add a newline to a string text and I was wondering if there is a newline constant in actionscript 3? For example in .net there is an Environment.NewLine that is a string, containing " " for non-Unix platforms, or a string containing " " for Unix platforms.
I want to make a search button on my site. I have a bunch of pdf files in a specific location on my site. I want to create a search field where the end user inputs text into a field and flash locates and opens the corresponding pdf file.
I am building a text editor in Flex using the Text Layout Framework. So I have a Canvas in which I display the content of a TextFlow. I would like to show scrollbars in the canvas, so that I can use the scrollbars to scroll throught the content.
However, the width and height of the 'composed' text layout is equal to that of the canvas, so it is not a matter of just turning on the scroll policy. Somehow I am not able to find the full height and width of a full composition of the TextFlow.
adding the TextFlow to the canvas: rawChildren.addChild(_textFlow.flowComposer.getControllerAt(0).container);
Anyone knows what is the best way to add a scrollbar here? Or how to figure out the full height of the TextFlow?
I have a panel in my application. My requirement is, I also require a link, that is "Help options" to appear in the panel's header. In the left, we will have the Panel's title and in the right corner, I need this link. Is that possible?
I have an animation that has roll overs controlled by AS (see code below). It works the way I have the code, but it's really messy code. And I hate that I'm have the functions rewritten for each event.How can I simplify this code?
//On the main timeline var gearsEnabled:Boolean = true; var gears2Enabled:Boolean = true;
I have a test here which is for a more complex interaction, but the principle is the same. What I would like to know is how to make the code more efficient, possibly through array loops?
im a complete noob. how would i get this code into a simple 'for loop' to add 3 sprites named heart1, heart 2 and heart3. basically to simplify this mess
ActionScript Code: var heart1:Sprite = new Sprite(); with (heart1.graphics) { beginFill(0xFF0000); drawRect(0,0,20,10);
Been reading up on the flash transition object. I came up with this way of fading out one clip and fading in another and having them loop forever using the transition objects but it's very dirty coding and not very flexible.
Is there a way to clean it up so that I can add as many clips as I want without having to write more code, just by adding more movie clips to the stage?
As the title states, I need to know how to save multiple text files, from multiple text boxes on the screen. Each textbox has the instance name of t1, t2, t3... and so on. Here is the code I have now:
Output: texta textb Now I want to select from "ta" in TextField1 to "tex" in TextField2. By the drag of a mouse. I know that by conventional methods it is not possible? Is there any other way to achieve this? And I need to highlight the text also.
I have this code that's repeating for 40 different instance names that play 40 different movieclip names.
Is it possible not to repeat all this code for every instance name? For example creating a function that catch the instance name that is pressed and plays the correct moviclip name?
