Jul 14, 2008I have been able to customize the adding thumbnails tutorial to meet my needs but I have one remaining issue. I have gotten some suggestions from some people on here to try and help me fix this but I can not get it to work.I have tried on my own and I am unable to get it to work. The thumbnails are loading in reverse order from they way they are listed in the XML file or when I simulate download the thumbs load randomly. Is there a way to force them to load in the order they are listed in the XML file?[code]

Jul 12, 2005I am creating a Flash program that consists of a "master" movie file that will call in individual chapters (*.swfs) as needed. I want to create a single (page) navigation structure that will reside in the master - yet allow the user to go to the next/previous screens in the movie currently being used. I have created the master movie and have placed an empty movie clip on one of the frames. From the main navigation, I have been successfully able to load the individual *.swfs into the empty movie clip when called from the menu using the following command: _root.emptymovieclipname.loadMovie("external.swf");
I have been unable to figure out the action script that will allow me to control the navigation within the external swf from the main timeline. Also - is it possible to determine the number of frames within each clip as they are called so I can turn on/off the fwd/back buttons when appropriate?

Jul 19, 2004I need to make something that mimicks The Dancer over at[URL]I've created all the movie clips but I don't know where to start with the loading and unloading of the dancing bits The buttons at the bottom scroll through movie clips with different movement. So the "arms" button would load arms01, then when it's clicked again, it would load arms02, clicked again it would load arms03, and then repeat when it reached the end.

Jun 6, 2007I have 25 instances of a movieclip "star", duplicated and assigned variables using the following code:

I now have it so that when I click on any instance of "star", I'm taken to another frame, and in that frame I'd like to be able to look up the variable "startype" for that particular instance only. How exactly can I do this?

Oct 11, 2009I have a movieclip clip that plays when the movie starts, the movieclip is a visual assets that show's that the application is loading some information but it's not showing any loading progress, just playing while the assets are loaded.I created a for loop that will load the assets using a simple loader, and then when the object is loaded the application push the object to an array.Problem is that when the loading starts all the animation that i have on screen stops until the loading is finished.The whole point is that the animation will play while it's loading.

In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. Jun 4, 2004[FMX] I am having trouble loading an XML file on an external server into my flash movie when it is uploaded. The data loads in fine when the flash file is on my local computer with the xml file on a server. As soon as the flash file is uploaded the XML data will not load in.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading External SWFs From Another External Swf Into The Main SWF Container?
May 4, 2011I have created a main "site.swf" file that loads a "default.swf" file into a container after a preloader. On this default.swf file I have buttons that needs to load new external SWF files in its place in the container. All of the external SWFs contain buttons and navigations that will also call up other external SWFs into this container. So, I would like to know how to program each button (some are movieclips as buttons) to unload itself and load the respective SWF into the container (eg. AboutUsButton to call up aboutus.swf into the container). I do not have a main navigation on the site.swf file bacause the navigation changes on each SWF that needs to be loaded into the container.

Mar 16, 2004I'm loading a external swf into a movie everything is fine with that. The only problem is that its loading only a part of it. Does anybody know why? Also, this swf is a mp3 player with streaming. The streaming part works but the playback doesn't.If i start only the mp3 player by itself it's working.here is the fla for the player

[URL]/img/20042005113934movie3.swf ) My Loading Progress code fails to detect the SWF file size. However the same code works perfectly for a JPG! Essentially the .getBytesLoaded() and .getBytesTotal fail to work. Why is this and how can I get it to work for loading SWFs?

Apr 10, 2009Specifically, I am building a flash page that loads external swf files and inside some of the external swf files, I would like to add audio and flash video (flv) streaming from the Flaash Media Server. In some of the external swf files, (using a FLVPlayback component) when you press a button on the main timeline to unload the current playing swf the audio/video continues to play after loading the new external swf file.So I believe that my approach is all wrong and I should be working to dynamically load the .mp3 and.flvs in the external swf ... my questiion is how to unload those assets when loading the new external swf

Jun 27, 2009Lets say I have Main.swf and sub.swf, and I wanna load sub when I press a button from Main, but sub.swf has its own external class file attached, so here is the problem, when I load sub using loader class and I would get this message from the output panel:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at subScript()
seems loader class can not access sub.swf's external class when sub is being loaded.

And I have gallery.swf file that loads subgallery.swf.The jpeg images and both swf files are in the same folder.When I test gallery.swf it loads subgallery.swf but subgallery.swf doesn't load images. May 24, 2005I created a site using Kirupa's external .swf loading tutorial. Now in one of my externally loaded .swf's, I am loading another external .swf. I've gotten this to work fine, but the second external .swf (loaded into the first) contains buttons that will swap this second external .swf with another external .swf. I can't seem to get the AS references to the variables set up correctly in order to swap the swf's. The initial .swf loads fine, but the button control gets complicated inside it. It sounds rather confusing, so I've included a link to the .fla's and .swf's below.

-The buttons in profiles_main.swf are trying to load chris.swf (swapping it entirely with profiles_main.swf)

Flash CS 4 And Dreamwaver 2004?

3.Image Viewer;When the image viewer is opened the image viewer window opens.When images are loaded into the viewer and captions are added they appear to work in Dreamweaver but they dont move in sequence when the buttons are clicked.In browsers the captions dont appear. If the window is closed and reopened all of the images have disappeared and just the image viewer returns.The response I got from an inquiry to Adobe was; The version of Dreamweaver has been discontinued and is no longer supported via phone or web cases. We only support versions CS3 andCS4 via telephone or web. have interoperability between these two programs?

Jun 30, 2009I imported a panorama .jpg file (i.e., several overlapping landscape photos stitched together) onto the Flash MX 2004 stage, changed it to a symbol (graphic), and used Tween to simulate the panorama panning back and forth. The effect looks great when I click on the .swf file in Windows Explorer, but when I created a box on a PowerPoint 2000 slide and linked the .swf file to it, instead of the graphic, there is a red rectangle. The rectangle moves the way the graphic would, but you cannot see the photograph. By the way, I followed the steps at [URL] to link the .swf file to the PowerPoint slide.

May 7, 2005i have some problems in integrating with my own flash. 1st of all.. let me define the key things
1st step.. the flash will detect the xml. 2nd, it detect whether if it has people on air on the studio or not refer to the time. 3rd, if its between the [timeid] range ( 0-7) it has a slot but either has a dj or not, if the timeid = 8 , no slot and no deejays here is my core part of problem..
the flash will show the slot language pics background = MC ( session ), the slot name = dynamic text area ( slonem ), and who's the deejays = dynamic text area (djnem), of the current time, if there's no one on air or no slot , the pics background = MC ( session ) will show music only.
i'll include also my xml file and my dummy file for this thing.. also iincluded is the original schedule that working properly.. the original schedule and the dummy is basically different just they read from same xml file..
i just learn xml just a few months back then also with action script with help from my roomate [URL]..
