I created a 300x250 Web banner for Google with a mouse trail effect. The banner will not upload because, according to the Google tech people, the banner contains animation that goes "out of bounds." Common sense tells me that if a mouse effect is applied to a Flash banner, then it should only be occurring when a user mouses over that banner. However, I was told that the mouse effect does indeed take place outside the 300x250 banner boundaries, which is preventing the banner from being fully uploaded live.
Does anyone know how to define the stage area so that the mouse effect only occurs in this 300x250 space? Perhaps the only way to get around this is to create a 300x250 hidden button and somehow make the mouse effect occur on rollover. If that is the case, then does anyone know how to do that?

I'm trying to create something with a flip effect tutorial from tutplus - [URL] However my flip area is much bigger than the tutorial, it's 900px wide. Everything works fine except that it leaves a trail when the width is that big. You'll see it when you flip it a few times. Someone else posted the same problem in the comments from last year, but no one replied. Does anyone know a solution to this?
Edit: Here is a screen shot: [URL] The front is purple and the back is white. As you can see it left a bit of the purple as the page flipped to white. I couldn't get a screen shot of it turning, but it's even more obvious as the page is actually flipping because the width become narrow which reveals a whole lot more that's left behind on the page.

I would like to make a mouse-over effect on an object. The mouse-over effect should work like this: when the mouse cursor is dragged over the object it should glow, but if the mouse cursor remains over the object it should still glow, but another mouse over effect should occur, showing an info box for the object. Until now I have just made the object as a button, and in the "over" box I have made the object glow, by defining it as a movie clip. However, this only works for the glow part. How do I add another mouse-over effect (which is delayed 1 sec) to the same object?

I would like to make a sort of menu where the buttons fade when the user moves the mouse over the object/button. The problem is that the fade is looping over and over again while the mouse is over the object. how I control the fade effect, so it only fades in once when the mouse is over the object and then fades out when the mouse leaves the object.
ActionScript Code:
import fl.transitions.*;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;[code].....

I'm trying to duplicate this type of mouse trail. I can't tell if it's deforming a movie clip or drawing separate objects on the stage. I can duplicate it at slow speeds, but at a fast speeds I have no idea how they're doing it.
The MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE is way to slow on the update to draw exactly where the mouse is going so I tried using curveTo to create a curve but unfortunately you still hit a point where you get a sharp angle.

I've been busy with a small tutorial on creating a flaming mouse trail. I'm getting two errors though in the same line which I do not understand in the following part of my code:
function startTheFire( e:Event ):void{
TweenLite.to( e.target,0, {alpha: ( e.target.alpha -= 0.05 )} );
if ( e.target.alpha < = 0 )
e.target.removeEventListener( Event.ENTER_FRAME, startTheFire );
removeChild( e.target as Sprite );
}
ERRORS:
1084: Syntax error: expecting rightparen before semicolon.
1084: Syntax error: expecting identifier before assign.
Both refer to the following line: if ( e.target.alpha < = 0 )

I was wondering how you change the text colour with action script. The Kirupa mouse trail tutorial I was looking at has the following script for the text:
letterformat = new TextFormat();
letterformat.font = "Verdana";
letterformat.align = "center";
[Code].....
Is there a way to do this or am I way off track?

Everything works fine, but I am trying to play with the different options.The one thing I am trying to do is have fewer repeats, as the object I am using is larger than the one in the tutorial and it looks too crowded. So, I am trying to figure out where to change the code, so that fewer repeats occur. I assume its the math random part, but not sure.Does anyone know where in this code below I would change that option?

I know Halloween is allready over, but blood dripping text is always good, right? I have recently found a nice tutorial/source on a dripping blood text effect. Since I can't post links yet, I'll just tell you how to get to the tutorial. Go to the Math and Flash website, then to Flash CS4 tutorials and then to Spooky Effects in AS3 Flash: Text Dripping Blood.What I'd like to do is have a button and if I hover my mouse over it, blood starts dripping down. I can't figure out how to do this though... I am kind of new to ActionScript 3.0 and recently made the switch from ActionsScript 2.0, since I want to do more then just gotoandPlay();.

I'd like to animate a button when I put the mouse over it. I use mouse_over or roll_over events, ok. But what if I hide the button when I click it and then I show it again later without moving the mouse? The mouse stays over the button, but the button does not animate, as there is no out/over event: I have to move the mouse out and over again to see the animation.
How can I detect the mouse standing on a button without the out/over event?

I'm using the code below to add a follow mouse tooltip effect. The resulting swf is working correctly. However when I load the swf into my main movie the tooltip is placed well away from the mouse???
PHP Code:
function syncCursor(evt:Event):void {
TweenMax.to(toolTip, 0.75,{x:stage.mouseX, y:stage.mouseY, roundProps:["x","y"], ease:Expo.easeOut});
function thumbOverHandler (e:Event):void {
addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, syncCursor);
}}
