ActionScript 2.0 :: Past A Certain Point It Is Scaled Down In Size And It Locks In To A Specified X And Y Position?
Sep 16, 2009
I have a MC that can be dragged. when it goes past a certain point it is scaled down in size and it locks in to a specified x and y position. The problem is this is causing the onPress function and onRelease function to not work properly. once the mc goes in i cant get it out. this is on the first frame of the timeline
Code:
flatline.onPress = function() {
if (_currentframe == 1) {
I am using AS2 with Flash 8 Professional So, my problem is that I currently have a man in the middle of the screen, who shoots a line towards the mouse when I click. However, when I use hitTest to see if the line collides with another object, Flash recognizes the line as a large box if it is diagonal, so the hitTest isn't very accurate. The line only satys there for one frame, so I can't have the usual moving-bullet-style. I am either looking for a way to create an imaginary line with AS from the starting point to the mouse and beyond, and tell whether or not this line intersects with an object... or some other way that I haven't thought of to fix my problem. Keep in mind that the line rotates from a center point towards anywhere around it for 360 degrees.
I need to make a button animate from its normal size to a larger size but in a fluid scaled motion. I'm using a png image I cant seem to get it to scale from small to big when animating, and I have inserted a motion tween.
I have a scroller mc that I want to control by clicking underneath its y position to advance it down its y axis by a predetermined amount.The below code works to move it, but it advances past its max value of 496.5 (off the screen).Have I made a mistake in the code below? The scroller mc and associated text block is in their own mc on the root timeline. This code is on a frame on the root timeline.Has it got to do with the relative y positions of the stage compared with the y positions in the actual MC that I am trying to control?
Code: principals_mc.johnTxt_mc.scrollerZone_mc.onRelease = function () { var scrollerAmount:Number = 80; if (this.hitTest(principals_mc.johnTxt_mc.jfscroller_mc)) {[code]......
I made an SWF file (say X) and I have loaded this SWF file into another FLA file (say Y). With help from this forum, I got to do what I wanted - when I click on a button on the FLA file (Y), the SWF (X) shrinks to a smaller size (about half the size) and when I click on that same button again, X enlarges back to the original size. I acomplished this with tweenlite. THe SWF (X) has a slideshow of images. Now, when the SWF (X) shrinks to a smaller size, the images look very distorted and text in the images are not readable (although the text is large enough to be clearly visible).
Is there an easy way to code something, using the tween class, to go back to its native size after being scaled down using the tween class? I checked the tutorial on the site and couldn't find any information on this.
When i zoom into the page then move around the edge of the page can be moved past the edge of the browser window showing the static page which appears at the start of the document. Is it possible to use actionscript to stop the page being dragged past a certain point so the static page is not seen? On the example below the static page is white so it does not pose too much of a problem however im using the static page as a sort of instruction page and it looks a bit rubbish if the user drags a page past the edge of the view window and see's the original page. Example below. [URL]
I have a list of fonts obtained via Font.enumerateFonts() and I want to display them all as 12 pixels tall. The problem is that I cannot simply set the point size because this can vary in actual pixel size for each font. So basically I want to determine what the correct point size is for a font in order to make it exactly 12 pixels tall. Because I'm doing this with a potentially large list I'm looking for an efficient method to do this.
I'm having problems with Flash Player locking up my web browser. Any time I play a flash movie to make the browser crash (not responding). I've tried IE 8, Firefox, and Chrome all with the same results. Here are the specs:ATI Mobile Radeon driver version 8.632.0.0Flash version 10.153.64Windows 7 HP 64bit4GB RamDual Core AMD
I am having a problem with reading in a fairly large xml file (20000 lines)The problem is once i have loaded the xml file into flash, i start to parse the data into an array, during this period the flash file locks up for a few seconds.Is there anyway around this problem, or at very least somehow have a preloader to show how long it will take to parse the xml?Is there anyway at all to speed this up?
I´d like to know if there´s a way to calculate by math the x position of point 1. There´s some coordinates at the image here attached. The "mc" movie clip is the main triangle.
Is there a way to change the position of the registration point inside a Movie Clip using Flash5 ?I've found stuff online for older Flash versions but not CS5.
To make this easy, lets say I have a movie clip with a diagonal line in it (top left to bottom right).
I want to start my y position at 0, and place it in a loop and increase y by 5 every time. So we start at the top left of the clip, and move to the bottom of the clip.
Now since we have our y value (0, 5, 10, etc.) would you get the x position of the line? such as (x, y): 5, 10
I've got a grid of sprites.Now I would like to drag an image on a grid-element.Therefore I need to know which x/y of the grid-element is the closest point to the mouse-position.
A display object container on the stage has some bitmap images of sizes 50x50 arranged in a order one by one. Now if i click on any of the thumbnail image (bitmap) the entire container should move and position itself so that, the bitmap image clicked is placed in the center of the stage.
Normally, this is a simple task if the registration point is either top left or dead center of the movieclip. Unfortunately, this may not (and likely will not) be the case for the movieclips I am trying to position, so I was wondering if there was a way to center a movieclip in a given area without knowing it's registration point.registration point via the Matrix class or any other method, as it's very important for positioning of the movieclips inside of it.
i'm trying to zoom in on a picture at the specific spot where the mouse is clicked. ie if the mouse is clicked in the lower left corner, the pic gets bigger from there, not the center of the pic. the only way i can think of to do this is to reset the registration point to the clicked position. is this possible? is there another way to go the job done?
I am trying to make an animation where the user can mouse over a small MC at the top of the stage, which controls the movement of another larger MC at the bottom of the stage.I am thinking that 'points' (which I know nothing about) might be the way to go. The other thing is that it needs to be fluid motion. Am I at least on the right track with points and mouse_move or is there a better approach for this?
I'm running Vista, 32 bit, and the latest version of Firefox. Any time I enlarge a video I'm watching on a website that uses the Flash Player, (youtube and others) to full screen, the computer eventually locks up. The video continues normally, but hitting escape does nothing to reduce the video back to the smaller size. I then hit CTRL ALT DEL and still nothing changes. The mouse can't move the cursor, hitting tab doesn't work, nothing.
I've tried uninstalling the Flash Player using the offline uninstaller, and reinstalling the latest Flash Player using the offline installer. I've gone to the Flash "about" page after each of those 2 actions to make sure that Flash is completely uninstalled, and reinstalled. I've also run CCleaner after uninstalling Flash Player just to make sure no registry entries, etc. remained.
I'm trying to have a movie clip with 4 buttons that moves to the four corners of the stage.Depending on which button is clicked, the movie clip goes to that corner.he trouble I'm running into is determining the variable start points. If the end goal is the lower right corner, it needs to be able to move there from the upper left, the lower left and the upper right. So I need to set the starting position as a variable I assume, but can't get it working.
I trained on flashMX back in the day and haven't done anything since so now I've got CS5 it's a bit like being at school again! I have a circular dial sat in the middle of the screen with an arrow placed on it's edge. How do I get the dial to rotate so it always faces the mouse pointer?
i want to know how did the creator of otradesign accomplish the effect in his site like the menu and the main contents change size and the menu position according to the size of main contents.
I have recently followed a tutorial to make a movieclip in flash that makes buttons spin around a point depending on the mouse position. I have made my own version off this and would like to use it in a full flash website that i am making at the moment.
The only problem that i am having is with aligning this clip and as it is made up of script i cant physicly drag it to were i want it. I understand how to alighn this with x/y positioning but when i preview the flash in a web browser it is positioned correctly but then when i 'full screen' the browser this clip jumps about 4 inches down the page.
