My random movement works file when on _root but I have it loading on level18 now. I have changed the code accordingly (all _root to _level18) but it still leaves the boundary.

What I would like it to do is play a section on the timeline and then move onto another section or scene.

on [URL] what is the word 'section' in _root.section? I assume it is a movie clip instance, but can't seem to find it on the timeline.

Is there anyway to "read" HTTP POST responses with actionscript?

I am going to redesign a website and for that website I want there to be a news section on the homepage. The news section should be built in Flash with images representing news headlines animating on a loop however a user should be able to click one of these images and then within the homepage a Flash pop up will appear with the news article. This is similar to sites that have an image gallery with thumbnails of images but when an thumbnail is clicked then the full size image loads within the same webpage. I want a similar effect but in my case, when a full size image is clicked, a text based news article loads.

I'm new-ish with flash and I am making a stand-alone player that I need a few things to print and have hit trouble when I try and do them.I can print the entire stage no problem.
- What I was hoping to do is have 3 print buttons, 1 would print a section of the player. The other a different section. and the last would print the whole stage (which I've already scripted).
- I've had a look at Print num scripts etc, but am hugely confused.
Has anyone got the script for printing a section of a flash stage?PS Can you set those x and y values to print something off the stage

View 5 RepliesI am colorblind.I need to change either the color of the background or the color of the text on the layers section on the Timeline.I simply cannot read/see what is currently showing.It is a very light blue background with white text and white dots for seeing, locking, or setting the outline color.I need to either change the text color and dots to black so I can see them, or try to change the background color to a dark blue so I can read the white text.Changing the text color would really be my preference. Adobe hasn't been very concerned about colorblindness when developing these products. I can barely make out all the light grey/grey/dark grey/grey stuff.

I'm writing in a programming language, that is then passing variables to PHP, and I then need Flash to pick those variables up and do something with their data. Is there a way to get PHP to post into flash? rather than having flash load variables from a static page? If not what would the best option be? a text file?

Let's say the user has played a Flash game, packaged as an EXE or SWF embedded in HTML stored on the user's computer, not from some webpage, and would like to register the score by completing a simple form with just an e-mail address and pressing a button.
Would it be possible to do it even thought the Flash application is not on an active webpage?
I have a flash-movie on my webpage, which makes a post when its done playing. I want to catch that post and update a session.
I get the following "post-error" when the movie ends.
POST /en/RunTest/test/showmovie/finish
HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
"test" is my controller"showmovie" is my action which takes an id as parameter. fx.
/en/runtest/test/showmovie/1
That is the page my flash is on.
I've tried the using the HandleUnknownAction-method, but it just never gets there. I've tried some MapRoute'ing - but havent succeded.
What i want is the method setMovieSeen to be called whenever i recieve the post from the flash.
I basically have a form inside of Flash that I need to submit to a server-side processing page, which will then return either json or xml telling if it succeeded or not ( json, xml I suppose ). My version of Flash is CS4 and I'm wondering if there are any libraries or frameworks I can use to accomplish this.

How to POST from Falsh to PHP without redirecting the user, i want after the game over POST score, insert it in DB, and show the user Stream Publish popup if he want to publish to wall the score or not.
I'm wondering if JavaScript can post JSON messages to Flash? and if so can you please provide an example or a link to one?
