I am trying to create a new webpage using flash CS5. I imported the page that I created in photoshop. Now the background is flashing, the only thing that I have set to have motion is one section of text.
View 5 RepliesI am colorblind.I need to change either the color of the background or the color of the text on the layers section on the Timeline.I simply cannot read/see what is currently showing.It is a very light blue background with white text and white dots for seeing, locking, or setting the outline color.I need to either change the text color and dots to black so I can see them, or try to change the background color to a dark blue so I can read the white text.Changing the text color would really be my preference. Adobe hasn't been very concerned about colorblindness when developing these products. I can barely make out all the light grey/grey/dark grey/grey stuff.
View 7 RepliesI'm trying to learn Flash, and thought I had it figured out for motion tweens. I'm using CS3. I created a background and added 4 images. I created a motion tween for the first image (on it's own layer), but when I try to run it, all the other images and background dissappears. The tween works, but the rest is invisible, just turns white.
View 5 RepliesI've read through several tutorials but I must be doing something wrong on this. I'm using Adobe Flash Pro CS4. I am trying to create a short clip that fades text in over a bacground video. When I create a motion tween on the text track, I'm generating an error and the background video is no longer visible in the preview. Instead, I see the text over the stage background color. It is as if the background video track has switched to wireframe. Here are the steps I've followed:
1. Created Flash File (ActionScript 3.0).
2. Imported Video into the State background layer - it appears as a black image in the it previews fine at that point
3. Created new layer for text and placed text - it previews fine at this point, text is overlaying video
4. I right click on the text block and choose convert to symbol.
5. Next with the play head on the first frame and the Text layer selected I choose Create Motion Tween. I created a motion preset of a 3D text animation that made the text swing back and forth like a gate with the hinge on the far left side. However, when I apply the motion preset to other text, the text moves to a new location and the text swings closer to the center than the far left side. Moving the text only creates a travel path that further complicates matters.
what am I doing wrong with the motion preset? How can I save something into a preset and apply it to other things and have the animation work the way it was designed?
I would like to ask the experts for help. In a flash movie I want three lines of text where I want line1 to appear with a preset motion, then line2 directly below line1 to appear with a preset motion, then line3 directly below line2 to appear with preset motion. I want to have the smallest possible fla file.

View 1 RepliesIf I put any text letter of any size at the top of the stage, lets say for example a "T" of 10 pts. Then move the timeline to frame 50 and insert a keyframe and then move that "T" down to the bottom of the stage and resize it to say 50 pts. (I want the effect of the letter growing as it moves down the stage).If I then isert a Motion Tween and scrub it the letter just stays at 10 pt until the keyframe at 50is hit and then it resizes to 50. Not the effect I am looking for.But if I use the classic tween then it does do what I want which is gradually grow from 10 pts to 50 pts by the bottom of the stage.

It will work the first time and for the second text on the frame it won't work. What are the requirements of a motion tween when it comes to text on a single layer in the same frame.

View 2 RepliesI used the liquid Flash layout file from this site , but i got one problem.I placed the script in a layer called actionscript and on frame 1, under it there is a other layer called background. I placed in just a square with a gradient color and made it a movieclip. I also placed this on frame 1. Everything is working perfect from this point but when i want to place a keyframe on frame 10 in the background layer and make a motion tween so that the background fades in from 0 opacity to 100, it doesn't work.

View 1 RepliesI need a few minor changes done to my site such as changing the text on the About page and also changing it so that when you view a picture in any of the galleriess the background is completely black, right now it just fades out the text and thumbnails and is not entirely black.
I have never used Flash before but am pretty good with Photoshop, Illustrator and a little bit of Dreamweaver. Would these changes be difficult for someone who has never used Flash but can pick things up fairly quickly? I have all the files for my website, any suggestions where I should look first to make the changes I require.

View 2 RepliesI'm putting together a swf file and I'm trying to have clouds moving in the background from right to left infinitely. Currently I made a cloud image the height of the movie and about 4 times wider than the movie and I have it tweening slowly. The image size and the fact it eventually stops is what I'm trying to change now. I made an "infinite" cloud image about 2/3rds the width of the swf. By infinite I mean the left edge and right edge match up, so it looks seemless if you repeat it over the x axis. Now I'm looking for a solution to create a movie clip that will loop this image so it's constantly sliding to the left and repeating itself.
View 4 RepliesI'm working on my portfolio site, and I used a panning effect on the background so the user can interact with the site and pan left/right to click on the items.
my problem lies with the motion tween. It needs to pan with the background, AND move on its own path. it's a car moving down a road, and it needs to stay in its path. it works perfectly, until the mouse is moved, which stops the animation, and then the car follows the panning movement, but stops the motion tween effect
I've also tried saving it out as an external SWF file. the tweening worked ok, and it does get the initial assignment, but it doesn't track the panning background.
I built a quick and dirty site header banner, with text masking a scrolling background of several images. The text is the mask, so the images show up inside the text. Viewing it works in Flash CS3, but when I publish it, I see the images scrolling from right to left, but they are not masked.

In this section I have an input box where the user enters their name and clicks an 'Enter' button. Clicking this button will take the user to the next section where I want their name to appear in a dynamic text box.The application works as far as getting to the next section but it doesn't display any input text in the output text box in the next section.

I've been trying for ages to get get fading text.I can fade it in, but i want to be able to click on any other link, and the text presently displayed will fade out.Each button on my movie links to text. If anyone can help me get my text to fade to any other section, it would help me loads.
View 4 RepliesI am just learning AS3 and am reading up on instantiating and object.The code from the Quickstart book makes about 75% sense to me, as it covers syntax in the previous section. However, like every damn intro to code on the planet, it throws in new, unexplained syntax:

Line 1: I get var=myMC is defining a variable.. I don't however understand the colon. What does the colon do and what does MovieClip mean? I'd assume that new MovieClip() is a method.

View 1 RepliesI'm using flash CS4 and I'm trying to create a motion tween with a rotation (several actually) and every once and a while Flash decides to screw up my tween and I don't know how to fix it. So i have an arm(symbol) with the rotation point set at the elbow... after I've already moved it and rotated it a few times without an issue, I try to rotate it about 20 degrees and all of the sudden my arm is randomly doing a 360 degree spin. I can't seem to fix this!

I'm wanting to create a moving object that will be exported into a tv commercial. Object has already been created in Adobe Illustrator, and now will be dropped into flash for adding movement. The destination commercial will be created in Sony Vegas, with the settings of (Australian) PAL television (25 fps, 576x720 pixels, lower field first).Thus keeping it simple, I want to set Adobe flash with the same output format, meaning that the canvas will have to be 576x720 pixels at 25 fps. So far this seems to have worked okay.Now I'm wanting to get rid of the canvas colour, just like I have here in this photoshop screen shot.
Judging by the colour palette in Flash Professional, it looks like it can't be done. I've checked "transparent palette" through yahoo and google, and had no results. The adobe documentation only details how to remove a background in Photoshop.
I'm having an issue with the UiLoader, I think. I am using a UiLoader to show the portfolio section of my website. When I click on portfolio there is nothing there. Brought UiLoader to stage from the component panel> in the component inspector I set the source to Portfolio.swf> Test movie> it works great. In dreamweaver I draged the swf from the folder panel and placed it in a table> uploaded it to the site> go to the site, and there is no portfolio section. See the site here -> [URL]. I noticed when I made changes and uploaded to the web then went to the site I have to delete internet history files to get the swf to reload. What do I do about that? Off the top of my head I thought about changing the swf name everytime I make any changes, but I'm sure there is another way.

Then set the clip (which is 250 W x 600 L) on the main stage, moving upwards, creating the auto scroll effect.The problem I am running into is that I can't figure out how to make the text use the whole width of the text box I created. It only uses half of the width, creating columbs like this:

The text box itself is at least twice the width of the sentences, but they aren't using the full width.
i have to create a movie where a text string move in horizontal.
the problem is that in the movie (800px wide) the text should go from right to left in about 7 seconds (so it have to go about 400px to the left in 7 sec).
i created a motion-tween with ease for my "text" and the tween is long (at 30fps) 30*7=210 frames.
the result is that the text DON'T MOVE FLUID... it's not a uniform movement... it's too visible the fact that it moves X pixel each x frames. it's the exact opposite of SMOOTH MOVEMENT.
How can i obtain a smooth slow-motion text movement?
