ActionScript 2.0 :: Prevent Users From Viewing Site And Then Simply Going Into Their "temporary Internet Files" And Stealing Swfs And XML Files
Feb 5, 2009
I am trying to prevent users from viewing my site and then simply going into their "temporary internet files" and stealing my swfs and XML files. I have been using a great .PHP code to stop this but now I am working on a server server that only uses .aspx files. Does anybody know of a way that I can stop files from being stored in the "temporary internet files" folder. I have encrypted the files but this is not good enough.

Is there anyway to make flash look at the temp internet files.I have a program that is photo heavy, actually a slide show and it pulls jpegs at 50k per photo. However it also pulls a lot of bandwith, no matter how many times you flip thru the photos, it gets a fresh copy from the server. It would be great to tell flash to look at temp inet before going to the web as the explorer does.

I've programmed a Java application using BlazeDS and Flex, but i think the problem also occurs in any ajax style application. It's a monitoring application, so requests are made regularly to the server. The browser has stored a large amount of temporary internet files on the client pc even getting it saturated. How I can avoid this? I have seen some articles that say to include variables in the html header as:

My website allows users to upload photographs which I store on Amazon's S3. I store the original upload as well as an optimized image and a thumbnail. I want to allow users to be able to export all of their original versions when their subscription expires. So I am thinking the following problems arise.Could be a large volume of data (possibly around 10GB)How to manage the download process - eg make sure if it gets interrupted where to start from again, how to verify successful download of files.Should this be done with individual files or try and zip the files and download as one file or a series of smaller zipped files. Are there any tools out there that I can use for this? I have seen Fzip which is an Actionscript library for handling zip files. I have an EC2 instance running that handles file uploads so could use this for downloads also - eg copy files to EC2 from S3, Zip them then download them to user via Flash downloader, use Fzip to uncompress the zip folder to user's hard drive.

Does anyone know of a site where I can download temporary SWF files to use as placeholders during web development? I've searched a lot on Google and can't dig anything up like this?
Was wondering if there is something similar to what http://placehold.it is for PNGs, but just need soemthing for SWFs.
I'd like to just grab one and use it to drop into my code, so all the Flash designer has to do is just replace the temporary SWF with the one that's going to be used on the live site.

Our application is a ASP.NET + Flex running on IIS 6.0 server. On the client machines we run IE8 for display. IE creates temp files that seems to be taking up disk space. The Temporary Internet Folder size continues to grow seems to exceed the limit of 8MB - automatic recycle. When and under what conditions does IE delete files from the temporary folders?

There is a web game that I play and I used fiddler to see what temporary files it downloaded. While I was playing I deleted all those temporary files including the sounds and flash files. But it didn't affect the game at all. Why is that? I checked in fiddler and it doesn't look like the files were redownloaded.

As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http? What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server.fterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?

I have an interface with several swfs _level1 that play flv files, they replace each other on _level1 when activated. I want the user to have to watch all of these movies before proceeding further. In other words, they cannot continue to the next scene until they have played all movies in that scene.

the flash4 published set of files, with a variety of skins tried, works well on the local drive, even when moved to a different folder structure. when index.html is opened on the remote web site, the browser (firefox3 and ie7) displays the player conrols and a rotating horizontal barber pole, green and black, but no flash video.some of the skins i've used are: SkinOverPlaySeekFullscreen.swf, nOverPlayStopSeekCaptionVol.swf and SkinUnderPlay.swf. all work locally but do not play the .flv file on the web site. no problem playing flv movies on the remote web site if the file set is created by dreamweaver.

I'm a teacher and I have some animations made in flash language (swf). I would like to publish these animations on my web site so my students could see, but I wonder if there is any way to prevent these animations being downloaded.
Example: when I see an animation published on my web site, this animation is stored in Internet Temporary Files and I can save this animation anywhere. How can I prevent an animation is stored in the temporary folder? In other words, this animation can only be seen if the user is logged on the site.

I had to change my global settings to be able to view my project on my local machine (clicking on index.html and have it open with explorer). Everything runs fine, locally.Videos play, music sings, everything is great.I put it online, no videos will play. All files are where they should be. I've checked 50 times and will do #51 soon.My swf does do some activex calls (this will eventually only be run locally on machines in a wrapper so its like a kiosk)

I've been trying to create a screensaver that dynamically loads images and text from a server, but it seems like I am not able to load anything outside of my own computer at all.It seems like the problem is coming from the Security Sandbox, the sandbox type for the screensaver stays "Local_with_file" meaning it can access local files but cannot access files from the network. What can I do to make the Sandbox "Local_with_network" as I do not need to load anything locally, but images and text from a server.

I'm getting close to finishing the application I'm working on, and the person I'm working for is going to be distributing it via DVD. to package my flash file in some format so that when the user opens the file, it will open the swf in an internet browser?
The reason I need to do this is because I have some xml data in it that is keeping it from being fully functional unless opened in an internet browser. I'm not entirely sure why this occurs, because the file works fine in Flash Player on my computer, but not when moved to anyone elses. So, the workaround is to open it in an internet browser.
Anyway, I figure that in order to have the file open in an internet browser, it'd have to be packaged as an exe or some other similar file type, but we want it to be cross-platform.
Maybe there's an easier way, but I need to find out how to package my swf file so that it automatically opens in a browser.

maybe its a strange questions but i have a little dilemma. I have some flash-xml sites and Google is indexing the xml-files.When a user is searching (Google) and the text is inside the xml-file, the result of the search sometimes will be [URL] when the user clicks on it only the xml-file is shown in the browser. Question:Is there a way to link or redirect the xml-file automaticly to the index.html of the site?Or is there another way to prevent this?

I am working on a page the allows the user, once logged in,to upload information and a picture. The picture is saved as his/her username, and if they upload a different picture, the old one is still displayed unless they leave the site and come back 10+ minutes later.I tried the HTML no-cahce headers and they don't even help load a new (up-to-date) version of the main movie. This should have an easy solution, that Adobe should have
addressed if they expect flash to be capable of being a dynamic site with user interactivity.
