I have pageA that loads sort of flash player, the url of rtmp that player listens to is hidden in other .aspx file that validates a session which generated on pageA. Is there another way or better way to limit users from stealing the rtmp link ?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to prevent users from viewing my site and then simply going into their "temporary internet files" and stealing my swfs and XML files. I have been using a great .PHP code to stop this but now I am working on a server server that only uses .aspx files. Does anybody know of a way that I can stop files from being stored in the "temporary internet files" folder. I have encrypted the files but this is not good enough.

I'm told you can only have up to 500 simultaneous connections, but I'm wondering if that applies to rtmp connections, or just to rtmfp connections.
We are getting message "Connection has been rejected due to license limit" in flash media server 2.0.5 at the time of connecting to the server. Previuosly that server works fine but today when we tried got above message. May be some changes occur on the system as we dont have controll for that system. But we can check FMS 2.0.5 on that system through managment console of FMS. Please suggest us in which direction we have to look.
View 2 RepliesI have application server that I wrote in csharp. The server is communicating with Flash client built using FLEX 4 (Flash Builder 4.5). The communication between the server and the client is done using RTMP.
For the RTMP capabilities in the server side I used the FluorineFX (hosted in IIS7). All the connections is done using Remote procedure calls where the Flash client executes remote procedure in the server and getting the results in the RPC response callback function.
The server also can send messages to the client using RPC as well. My problem is that the server diconnects all clients 6 minutes after the last client connected and I can't figure out why it is doing it.

I have FMS 3.5 installed on a Windows 2003 server, service pack 2. I access the server via remote desktop on my computer and when I use the Sample Video Player, I can get the sample rtmp videos working on the server and also on my own personal computer, but when I try and play the samples in the video player on any other computer, I get a Connection Error. I've verified the ports are all working. I've also checked the admin console and when I connect with both the server and my own computer I get 2 connections. When I try from an outside computer, no connection is shown. So it's not even getting to FMS to even register. What else might I be missing?

When I execute netConnection.connect, the FMS server reject my request. I catched the RTMP connect packet with sniffer. the difference is the swfUrl and pageUrl are setted value when login the chat room through upper URL. But no value for my client. So I guess the FMS reject my client since swfUrl and pageUrl. how to set them in Flex builder 3?

I had FMS 3.5 developer package installed on my server installed about a month ago. I used to be able to go to the /webroot/ page to see the sample RTMP video play and it worked great. Today, I go to view that page and find that it no longer plays. I get "Connection Error. Please preee Play to try again."
Pressing the play button does nothing, so I click the RTMP thumbnail and it reloads ony to give me that same error again. I can click the HTTP thumbnail and see the video play just fine. But, I want RTMP and after over an hour on the phone with my managed hosting tech, we can't find anything wrong.
Here's the thing: I haven't done anything, I have not changed anything, I have not manipulated the server software whatsoever. It just stopped working and gives me "Connection Error."

Are the RTMFP connection limits for the FMS AMI hard limits? What will happen when the limit is reached, will the server just refuse new rtmfp connections?

Lets say both of them have this AIR application or better yet its just a swf hosted on some private server of mine. And most other file uploaders (namely: uploadify, fancy upload, to name afew) would function via a combination of javascript and flash. And the same file uploaders only support ONE runtime, which is flash. Even if the flash player plugin is not installed. A developer can easily integrate flash detection tools and redirect users to a download link. Which is most common for several sites.

Our idea is to encrypt the byte array of the flv files and decrypt it in the player using NetStream class in Flex.The problem is that Netstream class requires the complete byte array to be appended using appendBytes() but th size of the file is huge so its not a valid approach.

I have a fairly complex form page and there's one MovieClip that's misbehaving. It's quite a bit of code so I'm having trouble locating where it's being generated from because the page is fairly dynamic.I'm looking for a sort of MovieClip.prototype-esque way of trace()ing the name of any clip that's clicked in a global fashion. Thus when I click and the misbehaving movieclip is firing off I can figure out who/what it is.
I find that when I override the prototype of any part of MovieClip that it renders other elements unusable. For example I tried to just override onReleaseOutside temporarily to see if I could get the clips name but it also disabled onPress, onRelease, etc and everything stopped working.

(the default path on FMS2) Now we upgrade to FMS4 and we would like to keep these paths the same because we have many HTMLs that reference these videos. However, the default path on FMS4 is rtmp://ServerName/vod/... Is there a way to change "vod" to "sites"?
I tried to change VOD_COMMON_DIR in fms.ini from /install_dir/webroot/vod to /install_dir/webroot/sites, and also changed the document root in httpd.conf, but rtmp://ServerName/sites/ is still not working.

Currently we are running a FMS 3.5 server and to 99.9% of our clients they can see our streams with no issues. This all started after we moved server from influxes to in house. Everything was back to working ok but one client. They must be behind a very secure network becasue they see the player we have but no video, only gray boxes. My first guess is that they are blocking RTMP. I tried to get into her machine via remote but it required domain authentication. This was working with our old system but not the new one. Nothing much has changed execpt hosting companies. Normally we could use port 80 to stream out of but we currently have a different web server fordwaring traffic through 80 and our firewall will not route host headers. What could be the best way to make this work?

But i downloaded mysql.jar, included it added to library, and connection works when i testing it from clipse scrapbook. Dont know what to do, i spend last couple days on this.

Basically the solution was simple. Everybody keeps saying to put jar into lib folder, so i done it, but i wasnt realised that i have to put into my servers lib directory, not app lib directory and this miserable mistake cost so much. Anyway i hope this will help for some newbie like me.In this particular situation im using red5, so i putted it into my red5 dist/lib directory and "surprisingly" its started to work.
