Im trying to make connection from flex to java and from java to mysql. I managed to connect to java, but having error that class not found: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver. But i downloaded mysql.jar, included it added to library, and connection works when i testing it from clipse scrapbook. Dont know what to do, i spend last couple days on this.

Basically the solution was simple. Everybody keeps saying to put jar into lib folder, so i done it, but i wasnt realised that i have to put into my servers lib directory, not app lib directory and this miserable mistake cost so much. Anyway i hope this will help for some newbie like me.In this particular situation im using red5, so i putted it into my red5 dist/lib directory and "surprisingly" its started to work.
How to make an FMS netconnection call to an AMF gateway using HTTPS. It is my understanding that Flash in the browser will utilize whatever HTTPS cert the browser has available for the HTTPS path you are trying to connect. Is there some sort of config or cert trick I need to apply for FMS to make HTTPS connections? I was considering it might be one of the following, but could not find any information on the subject:
-HTTPS cert saved to FMS directory?
-FMS config value for specific HTTPS paths?
-Allow the FMS host/ip to bypass HTTPS on server side?

Got a really big problem here. I keep on getting "NetConnection.Connect.Failed" when I load a .asc file on my main.asc file, i use the method load() in my code. I really don't understand why this happens, but when i comment out the code that loads the asc file, I can successfully connect to fms. I can't figure out what's happening here. Btw, i'm using fms4 in windows 7 32bit.
View 6 RepliesI am trying to start making an admin client side application to monitor our service, including its properties that simply cannot be done through Administration Console, like blocking IP addresses of offending users.My problem is that even before I start using the Administration API (on which I will comment further down), I tried to f.e. inspect theshared objects and streams of the application through the Admin. Console, but I get a popup "Failed to make debug connection, please check that the application is in debug mode." Configuration files are unaltered from install, which means xPendingDebugConnections is set to 50, AllowDebugDefault is set to false, BUT in the serve side main.asc file I have "application.allowDebug = true;"Also, on a related note.
I can see that the Administration API lists the API itself, but there is vague to no mention at all where to connect first? I recall spotting somewhere suffixing the RTMP URL with something like "_fcs_debug" or something, but you can see how this frustrates me - I really don't like to google stuff that is supposed to be in the documentation The application instance usually accepts connections from regular non-admin clients, with proper parameters, which are irrelevant for admins unless these are users too (double membership, you can say)

I am using the same java server given there. and I am creating the XmlSocket in a flex air application. When I run my air application I get a java.net.SocketException connection reset at the java server.
Both are stand alone applications on my desktop.

I need to make my Flash application create a connection to a remote application and have the remote application send periodic updates to my Flash animation. The remote app is written in VB 6, and does not support XML sockets. However, I don't need the ability to send or receive XML since I am going to be overriding the onLoad() event anyway.
Or maybe I do need that ability... I'm having trouble getting my onLoad() event to trigger. Right now I'm just testing the onLoad event like this:

So, basically I'm trying to find out how I can format the data I'm sending it so that the onLoad() event triggers. I've read that the XMLSocket object listens for the Null byte, so perhaps the data I'm sending it doesn't terminate properly. I need a persistent connection from Flash to the VB app because the VB app will be the one initiating the updates to the Flash application. Is the XMLSocket the way to go here, or is there another class of objects that I'm missing?
I have a video streaming app, and it uses Flash AS3. It keeps getting a NetStatusEvent of "NetConnection.Connection.Failed", when i try to use it in my Windows Testing environment. I need to make it work in my testing environments before i can launch this product.How do i diagnose this problem?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to make a flex application where it gets data from a telnet connection and I am running into a weird problem.To give a brief introduction, i want to read data from a process that exposes it through a socket. So if in the shell i type telnet localhost 8651i receive the xml and then the connection is closed (I get the following Connection closed by foreign host.)
Anyway i found a simple tutorial online for flex that essentially is a telnet client and one would expect it to work but everything follows Murphy's laws and nothing ever works.Now i have messages being printed in every event handler and all places that i can think off. When i connect to the socket nothing happens, no event handler is triggered even the connect or close handler and if i do the following the socket.connected returns false! I get no errors, try catch raises no exception. I am at a loss as to whats going wrong?

Can anyone clarify the limitation of 500 connections on the Flash Media Interactive Server 4.5?
I'm told you can only have up to 500 simultaneous connections, but I'm wondering if that applies to rtmp connections, or just to rtmfp connections.
We are getting message "Connection has been rejected due to license limit" in flash media server 2.0.5 at the time of connecting to the server. Previuosly that server works fine but today when we tried got above message. May be some changes occur on the system as we dont have controll for that system. But we can check FMS 2.0.5 on that system through managment console of FMS. Please suggest us in which direction we have to look.

View 8 RepliesWe have one application in which we are using flash media server 2.0.5. We dont know why it's stop taking connection occasionally at that time we can't enter into the managment console. We get a white screen. When we try to enter user name and password it's does not accpet the credentials. We are not getting anything in the log.Port number 1935 and 1111 of the particular system where FMS has placed are working fine.
View 7 RepliesWe have two servers - one stores the media files and runs FMS. The other creates dynamic webpages. I have edited the 'dynamic stream' SMIL example on the media server, to include a full URL:

If I open the standard FMS index page, the 'dynamic stream' example works fine. However, if I copy that code over to a page on my webpage server (linking back to the media server of course), I get a 'connection error'. The weird part though is that if I limit the 'switches' in the SMIL file to just one video, it works again, eg:

It makes no difference which file I choose, as long as there is just one.I am using the same video player that all the examples use (FMS 3.5), so my thought is that something in that player is causing a cross domain security exception when it has more than one stream to choose from. I tried disabling the firewall, so it's not that, and I updated server.xml to point to a custom crossdomain.xml file:

View 2 RepliesI have established Flash Media Server 4.5 on the house computer with win7 a router wasn't present, the cord goes on a straight line to the computer, at me allocated IP. I want that it was possible to address to the server from the Internet. At first video was started only on a local computer, then after change resolved ип in "adaptor.xml" the starting page of the server has started to open with other computers and examples work, video plays. But to incorporate on "rtmfp" leaves only from that computer on which there is a server (under the test on http://cc.rtmfp.net/all green points and one more too with all green points) leaves that computers can incorporate to the server on "rtmp" as the example of the server with video translation works well, but on "rtmfp" connects only those at whom green points.
